Distortion nerf has brought back BBQ in the worst way.
Every game I play has been Lethal and/or BBQ. This promotes tunneling in the worst possible way. Run from one hook to the other back and forth, no reason to kick gens when you can see everyone all the time. Gen regression got nerfed and became less of a priority not because kicking gens runs out of uses but because every other set of perks comes with more aura reading. What's the damn point of walls/loops/multi levels if they can see you pretty constantly? Mind games? What use are those when you can see each other the entire chase or if you out loop the killer lets give them an easy way to find you again ooooor good killers drop chase just long enough to get the aura read. This has GOT TO STOP. Stop spoon feeding killers. We all want the challenge not a thumb on the scales.

You do know you can hop in a locker when the killer picks up a survivor and wait till after the hook bubble disappears to avoid bbq

Assuming there's a locker nearby. Also assuming they aren't near a hook when they go down, or it's not a pyramid head.

Start of the match they bee line toward a survivor, get the down, hook and reveal. Most likely they'll go for the nearest survivor. Once you see the auras you know who is who unless they are all playing the same survivor with the same skin the outlines are pretty discernable. Also thanks to aura reveal they know who is running injured, 9/10 it's a freshly unhooked survivor. Everytime you get an aura reveal are you going to run to the gen that's about to pop or the injured hook stage 2 survivor?

How many generators are done? Would I be able to interrupt the one getting finished? Is it a gen that letting survivors complete would split the remaining gens in a way that's favorable for the survivors? Is that generator in an area I've chased before and has resources depleted? Is that one on the nearly completed gen a weak looper so they'd both go down fast and I'd get to slow down gens getting completed? Has that "injured stage 2 survivor" been injured for a while and thus likely wants to stay injured? Do they have a medkit and possibly their heal 99%'d so they can act as bait? Are they hovering near strong loops knowing I have aura read in an attempt to bait me to waste my time on them?

so out of all aura reading perks you are complaining about BBQ, quite literally the healthiest aura reading perk in the game

BBQ prevents camping and tunneling.
Remember when Distortion only had 3 tokens and no way to recharge, and it's purpose was simply to give you warning as to what aura perks were in play rather than giving you invulnerability. It was common practice to hide behind gens or jump in a locker on every hook.
Then Distortion became unlimited and BBQ stopped being a camp deterrent because you'd often reveal no one and then assume all the survivors must be by the hook.

move inside the killers tr. Most killers won't have a tr longer than the range that bbq even reveals your aura

don't think BBQ promotes going from hook to hook, they do this already with or without bbq
out of 3 other survivors (less the hooked one), they may come to you. They still need to down you and you have the opportunity to loop so it's not exactly a death sentence. If, as you state, it's constant aura from BBQ then it sounds like you guys are already losing the game if hooks are being rotated that much.

What did you do before distortion regained tokens? I know you weren't running it. Nobody did. You just.... Get in a locker and count down. BBQ is one of the easiest aura perks to suss out.

I don't think BBQ is a problematic perk, if anything it's healthy for the game as it encourages the killer to LEAVE the hook…
How is this a loss for anyone who plays this game?5 -
Modern problem requires old solutions. Just do what we did when BBQ had extra BP and almost every killer used it.
