After 2 nights of Houndmaster, I have a suggestion regarding her controls.
So one annoying thing is that I VERY often begin charging a command and it turns out its the wrong command.
Why cant I change the command by pressing CTRL, regardless of my current command charge?
I get you guys at BHVR probably programmed each command independently of each other, but honestly its needlessly confusing and obtuse imo. You should really consider simplifying this Power design more to allow swapping her command even when a different command is issued. You could even make her whisper, Chase / Search so players know which command is selected, rather than look down in the corner.
I get I'm probably a lil voice in the sea of Houndmaster feedback rn, but I think long term you will be making a mistake by not making her control scheme as simple as possible. It brings in new players into playing her easier and honestly Killer powers should not be needlessly obtuse to play, neither should Survivors.
I get that THIS isnt her biggest issue right now, there seem to be a lot of complaints about the silliness Snug gets up too and how easy its counterplayed, I wont make a determination about that right now. But on her controls and how she mechanically functions, her control scheme could be better and I urge you to fix it fast, start with a good easy simple control slate to build future balancing decisions on. The sooner you can fix this, the better.
A bad control scheme makes people drop Killers, please.
Other than that, Selecting Generators with Search is a little weird, that also need fixing to be good.
Any chance of seeing her in next 2v8 ;)

It is a bit clunky overall.
But i still think there should have been a protect command - where my dog protects me against pallet stuns or attacks a flashlight blinder :-)

That would be sick, it would be the perfect counter if you make Snug protect a hook you want to hook a survivor on.
Its a lovely idea.2 -
There's no reason to have a command switch function in the first place.

im not sure if its part of her power, but in her trailer, the dog is dragging taurie on dying state.
I havent seen any streamer do this, but i think the developers missed this opportunity for this power? i dont know if it sounds OP, but it looks interesting that ability.
mayber the DEVS can consider reworking/adding this part of her power.
it makes sense that the dog can drag a body, it will compliment very well with "deerstalker" perk.

I agree 💯! Yes.
Also - what do you think about a button that allows you to call back Snug early from his “Search” if you need him?
Also the cooldown for her power is odd because you have to wait a while for the dog to come back before you even get the cooldown to start for your power.
The penalty she gets is disgusting too when she doesn’t use her power. (Edited and added this last part)1 -
This is an amazing idea. “Protection mode” when a survivor comes within 10 meters (idk) of the houndmaster snug charges at them in attempt to grab the survivor or injury.
Or while on protector mode if the houndmaster is carrying a survivor and a survivor attempts to body block or blind her the dog 🐕 goes after them?
Hmmm 🤔3 -
100% a callback button would be great too, though a failed command does need some punishment, I suppose its enough punishment that Snug has to path find back, I HAVE seen him get stuck sometimes.

That would be cool too! Use search command - if snug detects a body on the ground a prompt comes up briefly to give you the option to drag body, if you decide not to then he just keeps going to whatever destination you set him at.

I agree but if you didn’t even decide to use the command? It still slows you down horribly.
Maybe reduce the penalty a bit but like you said - you have to wait a while anyways for him to get back in the first place.

I can see the doggo dragging one surv on the ground behind the Houndmaster with another surv on their shoulder! Congo line down into the basement!
Very efficient! 😁👍

or maybe code the dog to bring the dying state survivor on a nearby hook, then put a "resource guarding" mode: either another surivor choose to get bitten (for a shorter amount of time) to get away from the dying survivor, or get kicked like victor. whatever floats the boat. the devs seems to missed a lot of opportunities with the dog.
