Can not win games as solo survivor now.
Rank 10 currently as I didn't play much after reset as I was waiting on the update
Now before anyone says "git gud", I've been red rank countless times and gone against the best of killers.
The problem at low ranks is survivors are getting demolished. I can evade the killer or extend a chase with them far longer than anyone else in the game does. It's still not enough though and not only does the team get wiped out easily but they do so with many generators left remaining. These people are either unable to prolong a chase with the killer and go down in under 20 seconds or they just lack basic game knowledge and make poor decisions.
Either way we're just losing game after game after game after game.
I'm not sure exactly what is causing this as it wasn't this bad before the patch. I think it could be a combination of every killer have Ruin now (its pretty much 90% of games seriously) and obviously low ranks aren't used to it, and the removal of DS which used to have a huge impact.
I say this as someone who plays killer a lot but you've gotta do something for survivors. They're getting wrecked out there. I'd love to know what the survival rates are, especially for people that aren't 3-4 man swf.
The worst part is I can't rank up and play with people with my own level of experience because of the AWFUL new ranking system. When my team are getting demolished so hard there's just no way to pip.
No hyperbole you've actually completely ruined solo survivor imo. At least for anyone stuck at low rank.

I havn't had any issues. The only games I ever depip on are when there are DC's (which is A LOT of games right now) but that is another issue and unrelated. If you are depipping even when there's no DC's then that is a personal skill issue and I don't mean that in a rude way. Maybe you were red rank before, but there were A LOT of people at red ranks that shouldn't have been.

Solo survivor is such a dumpster fire and I've never been so spoonfed as a killer from all these ######### matches. It's honestly depressing.
11 -
People go down in 10 seconds. Not exagerrating. I don't even get how it happens because the attack cooldown + speed burst from the first hit alone should extend the chase more than that.
I'm seeing a shocking number of survivors pulled out of lockers too.
People are injured and run in for the unhook before the killer has even shown a sign that they intend to leave. So they just double back and now they have 2 survivors down. Because the survivors lack the knowledge through experience of when a killer is going to camp.
Its not a personal skill issue at all. I know this because the only time we have won games is when I am able to extend a chase against a killer for an excessive amount of time. Guess what? I get no pips for that though and it's not always going to be possible.
Are my teammates bad? Yes. I can unferstand thst bad players are going to get wrecked. However are the killers good? Not really. Had a LF just the other day. Downing survivors at lightnine speed. Back to back. Yet I managed to evade him for a long time and keep him occupied for ages once he found me. He was ok but nothing special.
The point I'm trying to make is that killer has become so easy now that weak to average killers can destroy weak to average survivors.

Survivors are playin so bad it feels like there has been a free weekend. Saw some recently going down extremely fast. When the killer chased me guess what I saw? Not a single pallet had been used.
Really? No wonder they're getting obliterated.
I play killer and people run away from jungle gyms to the corner of the map where there are no pallets, no vaults, nothing. That's what beginners do.

Solo survivor is just either you die trying to actually do the objective or be one of those immersed survivors who is going to try and outlive you do 0 gens and get hatch :/
2 -
"killer has become so easy now that weak to average killers can destroy weak to average survivors."
All you're talking about here is low ranks essentially. Killer is always strong at low ranks because the survivors are stupid.
As soon as you have both sides playing very well the game is extremely in survivors favor.
2 -
Except 0-1 gen gets done now because newbie survivors can't work through Ruin.
0 -
But how am I meant to get out of scrub ranks when my team gets destroyed in under 2 minures and now you can't earn enough to pip when that happens?
1 -
Well that has more to do with the matchmaking system being broken right now and you being put with super low ranks. Also, survivor side is probably slightly too difficult to pip atm.
1 -
They aren't super low though. They can be rank 10 playing like they're rank 20.
If it ends up being a red rank killer then I can understand why the newbies went down but often tbe killers are low rank too.
In short...I just dont get why survivors have been so bad recently. I can not stress enough how bad they have been playing. Genuinely like rank 20s. I've no idea why. I don't expect everyone on my side to be a pro I just want them to have a chase last longer than 20 seconds. Or not go in lockers when the killer is within view of them.

I include rank 10 when I say low ranks. Rank 10's play very poorly.

@The_Crusader "Except 0-1 gen gets done now because newbie survivors can't work through Ruin."
And ?
So we should adapt the game to weak survivors, instead of them adapting to the game ? (aka gitting gud)
I'm still wondering how grown adults can get to this conclusion if they're aren't trolls.
Honest thought.

Solo queuing is all I do.
I'm legit taking a break from this game... everything from the toxicity of the Killers playing cheaply to the Survivors literally doing NOTHING while I loop the Killer for a good while.
Then I get hooked and all the Survivors literally just crouch and inch towards me. Then they want to spring to action once I hit the second phase of my hook.
Then I log on to these forums to see ######### is going on and I see Killer Mains saying "DoNt GeT yOuRsELf iN a PoSiTiOn To bE cAuGhT bY tHe KiLLer."
I'm sorry to break it for them, but getting caught and chased by killers is literally part of the game design - DUH. The fact they would say that is beyond ridiculous and just goes to show how much of their input is null.

You knew it was coming.

That unhook shitshow is thx to the new ranking system. People rush to get points instead of playing the game like they used to.
3 -
Many post like this and still no patch, wth? Even as a Killer Main I can agree on survivors getting wrecked. DCs are all over the place. Game feels so unbalanced way too much. Revert back and leave it! Ranking system is awful. Match ups are horrible. I enjoy playing as the killer, but when I choose the other side, I get to understand why so many are quitting.

Never this poorly. It's on another level.

But they've adapted the game to weak killers. Bloodlust, NOED, months of survivor nerfs.
Why don't the killers have to "git gud"?
The killers I'm going against aren't anything special and range from poor to average. They never learned how to tackle loops but hey bloodlust and ######### survivors are here to save the day!
Don't tell me to loop them all game either because you can't pip if you do that.
Solo survivor seems harder than ever but killer feels easier than ever. Hmm I wonder if they could be related. I actually feel bad for surviviors now because of how quickly they're getting wiped out.
2 -
Bloodlust got nerfed atleast twice, noed lost its acdr, that got nerfed in that sense too. Noed didnt suddenly become stronger, survivors simply became too lazy to cleanse totems after establishing the genrush metas etc. And since unhooks gave that much instant BP, hooks get darmed greedily with a care. Altruism is at a high so survs dont simply gtfo as soon the gates are open.
The whole thread has been about loerank possibly noob survivors being stupid and unwilling to learn. Harsh truth but thats reality.
1 -
this game is not funny anymore for solos. In few weeks/months you´ll have to wait about 10 minutes to play as killer
2 -
Solo survivor is in a good spot. I don't have any issues with ranking and the challenge of pipping is good for forming the team concept. Its good that you cat pip up without helping the team, it stops the loop runners from thinking that one trick makes them ranked gods.

The problem is that the Benevolence emblem is giving way too many points, especially for saves. After 2 saves I had 240%+ benevolence, which is absolutely ridiculous. The other half of the issue is that Evader is giving out no points at all. I ran a killer through 2 very long chases where 2 gens were completed during each chase, maxing out my Boldness at 8,000, yet I only received a Silver emblem with like 50% Evader. #########?
Which brings up a separate issue regarding the Obsession. BHVR needs to announce that running an Obsession perk only increases your chance of being the Obsession, it no longer garauntees that you are running an Obsession perk. All survivors start out with an equal chance of being the Obsession, whether you are running a perk or not, while those who are running an Obsession perk will have a slightly higher chance. From what I’ve been seeing, 70-80% of the time, the Obsession is not running an Obsession perk.

Solo is in an awkward state. Most the time you get survivors that Urban Evade in very unnecessary times. They Self Care at the wrong time. They sit on gens while someone is hooked, which leads to the hooked survivor eating two hook states then probably getting farmed. But if you have a good team, killer gets wrecked.
It just all leads to the fact that most players in this game are, in nice people terms, not very good. Survivor emblems are now very orientated towards a SWF squad rather than a solo gamer. It feels like no matter how much you do, you can't pip up.
The Ruin changes aren't very good. The idea that perks get better as they tier up is nice. Now it's basically the same on all tiers of Ruin. I don't think it's a crutch on killers minus Nurse and Billy. I agree that games can end ridiculously fast without it sometimes.

I dont have issues unless someones DCs in my team (which happens most of the time lul)

I've had troubles pipping, too. You get people dropping like flies (or straight up running into the killer's arms after you save them) or DCing. In games where everyone gets out, I sometimes still don't pip especially if the killer wasn't very good and didn't catch anyone.
There honestly should be more built in things to help Solo. It needs to be brought up to SWF level, but they're being coy about it. No, I don't want to waste a perk slot on Kindred if I wouldn't have to in a SWF. Why does that not make sense?
2 -
@NeaJovovichHonestly everyone should just SWF with how things are currently, I guess. Bite them in the butt since those same killer mains rarely like SWF.

I don't believe its laziness causing survivors to not cleanse dull totems. I personally believe its because they have to genrush like crazy to have a chance to survive. They have to be super efficient when playing solo. All imo of course

Solo survivor is absolutely unplayable. The escape rate is about 15% and now it's almost impossible to pip. DEVs show us the middle figner, they don't seem to care at all.

I’ve been so focused on getting gens done as fast as possible as a survivor because the killer could potentially come over and regress all progress back to zero if
A. everyone’s being stealthy so there are no chases to be had
B. The killer is putting a tremendous anount of map pressure on the team.
Someone else always seems to take the killer’s attention, giving me no practice in chases. I’m getting pips too often when I’m not even showing how unskilled I am. I rank up, and when there’s a game where no survivor is good at being chased, doing flashlight saves, etc., it’s a massacre. I’m often not even trying to survive at those points—I just try to farm teammates for points because I won’t get nearly as much if I was stealthy, finished a gen or two, searched some chests, or sabo’d hooks. I honestly play worse because of how little points stealth rewards on top of not having opportunities to better my chase game.
It’s nearly impossible to make a stealthy save given that killers know where the hook is and solo players can’t coordinate on stealth strategies. There have been no hook related stealth perks since We’ll Make It, which allows for the unhooker to quiet and remove the blood trail from an unhooked survivor.
Like, seriously? My experience is made worse just because emblem and bloospoint balancing are bad?
I don’t know if pallet stuns need to give less points, if proximity stealth should give more, or if it would be smarter for all scoring events to be hidden from the players during the match, but I know that this is the part of the game that requires urgent care.

i play in solo survivor from 15 matches. only 2 match winnin on the game. definitely frustrating

My suggestion for solo survivors https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/191306/leveling-the-playing-field-for-solo-survivors

Playing with low rank survivors is honestly depressing, they go down in what feels like 10 seconds, if that. Not a fun experience, it's enough to make you think every killer in the game is OP. Best bet is to bring Prove Thyself and WGLF and farm points, find a person to coop on gens, and if they're getting stomped go for hook saves, do what you can to get to higher ranks where you'll get better survivors, just be sure to not be a potato survivor in high ranks or the killers will tear you a new one.
