Default bloodpoints gain is too underwhelming
The default amount of bloodpoints that is gained in matches is too low to level up characters on a smooth pace. New players get affected by this issue x1000 times more and pushes them back from keeping themselves playing. Had a couple of friends that got into the game in the past weeks for the spooky/Halloween season and they already got bored since the time it takes to level up characters is too long and the experience is not smooth at all.
It feels like the default amount of bloodpoints is gained should be that one gained during the x3 bloodpoints (bloodfeat) time, since it actually allows you to get more than one bloodweb per match and makes it so it does not feel like an actual chore. Either lower more the cost of the nodes, or increase highly the amount of bloodpoints that can be gained per match.
Incentives being so low for the past months does not help this issue at all (you are lucky if you can play during %50 bloodpoints queues for any of the two roles). The only time it feels rewarding to play this game in order to grind and level up characters is during events that have a multiplier.
Could this be addressed and looked into? I think that making the new players experience even worse is not a very good move overall for the game's longetivity.

But the leveling up of characters is almost entirely independent of the gameplay, the times a perk really comes up as a difference in games is absurdly little, just a few percent in the in the end. The reason the bloodweb exist is to give you something to do while waiting to be in a game, its not the main entertainment, that is what the trials are for. Its just there to keep you entertained while you wait and get stuff for the next trial.
Being bored of the game due to bloodweb is like getting bored talking to an NPC in an RPG, or bored because you need to find a trainer to buy the next level spell in WoWClassic. If your friends get bored of the bloodweb, tell them to alt-tab or watch a video on their phone while you guys wait in queue.
A new player only has to gain 10 million BPS to unlock everything that could potentially mean anything for all characters they have by default in trials. but the thing is you dont need all perks, you infact dont need any. New players should worry about their Skill as players in the game and stop chasing the next new big perk that they NEED TO WIN. its a waste of their money when a new perk drops. Like I don't even think bHVR developers would approve of that attitude and they make money of this.

You can always increase value of single BP. Basically reduce BP amount needed per 1 prestige.
I personally play to grind BP, so I am not motivated to play if noone has at least 50% bonus. I miss old BBQ…1 -
True, but this comes with a bunch of complications, blood point economy, tons of items, 4 brand new parts or massive supply of double battery flashlight combos. This may have a negative effect on player numbers, personally its bad enough to see that after that massive bloodpoint event last year. If it can be done without disrupting other parts I think bHVR would do it instantly.

I do not think you are getting in the shoes of a new player, probably you did not even know anybody that got into the game in the recent years. The game is extremely NOT begginer friendly and the current bloodpoint gains is godawful for them more than for anybody, it takes forever for them to get to unlock a survivor perk (if lucky from an OG character that they can unlock through Iri Shards), double the effort if we go to the case of killers that they are actually different between each other + need addons and not only the perks. You are seeing this issue from your point of view (assuming you are a veteran) and you are not taking into consideration that not everybody is in your possition, and even if a veteran…
Also, not everybody has the same incentive to play this game and some people just in general find it rewarding and enjoyable to be able to grind comfortably and that does not take away anything from you. It is perfectly valid to not be content with how the grinding/bloodpoint gains are at the moment. If you just see it as something to do between games more power to you and that is awesome, but I would prefer not have to kill time tabbing out and watching Youtube video and instead be able to spend more than 40,000 bloodpoints that you can get per match if lucky bringing certain offerings.

This may have a negative effect on player numbers
I can say same about current system. I am condifent current grind of unlocking perks is losing many new players.
I would personally simply unlock first tier of perks as soon you purchase the character, that way players can keep putting BP only to character they want to play, not waste 1M BP to any character they want perk from. This doesn't affect BP amount, doesn't affect items, offerings etc.
I personally have all character prestige 3 and just work on prestige 100, but current system won't let me get my friends back to DBD.1 -
Ah, au contraire. I just recently had the pleasure of introducing 3 friends to the game during the excellent 2v8.
I knew it would wet their whistle for the game, one of them even decided to become a Deathslinger main.Being a Veteran does not mean I have to be biased, I told my friends not to reply on perks to do their best, but learn to play and not to worry much about winning and losing, its about making a play that matters and getting your team-mates out even if we dont make it. We didn't use perks in 2v8 only Skills, but them tried they all anyway found their favorites they even made great headway on P1 every character in the base game during the first week of 2v8.
If you think I have been lying to my friends, that they wont have a chance without those perks, that they NEED them or the NEED addons then I encourage you to demonstrate it, Though I think you will fail because you can unlock alot even with your first game of dbd. An Emergency Medkit is only 3250bps.
Ofc. non of them stepped up and told me, "Sorry man the only reason I play this game is to see numbers go up and have everything."
play Cookie Clicker for that :DSure you can say that, but when it comes to bHVR to make the decision, would they pick to maintain the current system or swap unless they really REALLY have to. Why take the risk? Why make a change that could mess up or it could have the INVERSE effect leading to people getting burned out.
I'm sure bHVR has a plan and know what they are doing and if things are going in a bad direction they will correct it.
Do you remember those Surveys, they always put, how do you feel like the grind is right now? So I'm sure its checked.0 -

You have way more trust in bHVR than I ever had…
Like really what is downside of unlocking first tier when you purchase the character? It would make things so much easier for starting players.

You DO that already, ON THAT CHARACTER only tho.

Well, that's useless.
I want to be able to put BP only to survivor/killer I actually want to play with. Seems weird I am forced to put over 1M BP to character I want a single perk from.
If they unlocked first tier upon purchase of character, I don't need to waste my OP on them unless I go for full unlocking, or want to play them.0
