Punish survivor giving up on hook...

Please, please, please can more be done to deter players from giving up in the first 30 seconds of matches. It is happening more and more lately, and honestly it's putting me off the game because it completely alters the state of play.

One possible solution could be a strike system where if repeat behaviour is recognised then a ban is issued to the account, much like the ban for leaving matches prematurely. This strike system could count the number of misses skill-checks in the first few minutes of a match and then tally this up against subsequent matches within a set period (e.g. 14 days). After 2 separate incidents of failing 3 skill-checks in a row in the first 5 minutes of a match a ban of 30 minutes might be issued. Then for a further 2 incidents (4 total) after the ban has lifted (and still within the 14 days) a much longer ban could be issued, i.e. 24 hours.

Ultimately, I feel this is something that can't be ignored as it will continue to negatively impact the game if allowed to continue. The number of times its been happening recently has only been increasing, and I've even noticed big streamers on Twitch and Youtube mentioning this happening a lot also, meaning it's a serious issue that needs resolving.

Devs said they can't in Q&A because it will ruin luck offerings, some perks have to be changed like slippery meat

Oh they already said that? Dang. Guess I will just play killer instead from now on until I get bored and then uninstall.

I liked caged mechanic from 2v8, survivors couldn't give up cuz of that😂

Yeah even that is better than having to play 3v1 every single match. It's such a shame because this game is fun in a sandbox, but it never plays the way it is intended, because of cheaters and griefers.

Choosing to ignore the problem just alienates new players I feel. I have 500 hours which is just scraping the surface, but understanding now that the Devs have zero interest in resolving the problem is such a red flag honestly.

I really want to get my friends into playing this too, but with such a big barrier to fair gameplay, I just don't think they will be interested over other games which are more balanced.

Then they should change the perks and make it so giving up is punishable. That's such a non-answer.

The thing is I used to main killer (and I probably will main it again now) and I'd always feel the fun seep away when a survivor gave up after the first hook. Like, now I'm the bad guy if I try to go for a 4k while they're strongly handicapped.

As killer you want to 4k. But nobody wants to hunt a lame deer. Everybody loses when players give up at the start of matches. It just ruins the game for all involved tbh.

Simply, I am not a developer, but I just repeated what their employees wrote on Twitter, apparently this problem will still be relevant for a very long time until they switch to cages like 2x8

If they stop nerfing every decent perk survivors get, shrinking and nerfing maps and making busted and easy to play killers they have been doing as lately, maybe it will stop.

However looking at other aspect too I have seen whether am survivor or killer where the game could have been won by survivors but the rage quitting tiny timmy leaves. Usually its the gen jockey who dies in 10 seconds wanna kamikaze cause they did not want to be found at all while. Like you gotta understand the looper is the reason you did 2 to 3 gens and you do other things other than twisting wires.

Then you have the weird moment where a person loops for 2 to 3 gen and get down and gives up on first hook, like I gemaubybe you wanted a 5 gen run and 0 hook challange but kamikaze cause of ego is pathetic.

Once more this why people should stop complaining about swf so mich, a swf is most to almost never dc vs solo q. Honestly win or lose when I vs a swf I have never have a dc on me like I get 95% of time on solo q. This again is why I barely play unless am a full 4 man.

I think a slight fix that can work is people who gets chased and loops killer as long as possible should always have the highest points. It is unfair imo to the looper to get last place while gen jocky gets first. Idv does this and that is why being chase on it always feel good. You can do all 5 cipers and get the least points out the team for not doing anything else lol.

They will stop nerfing Survivor perks when they stop nerfing Killer perks. That will be never.

Too many survivors give up even on the Asian servers, and the devastation for players playing on the Western servers is probably even worse. There is a world of difference between 3-4PT and soloQ escape rates, and the official stats on kill rates and escape rates are not believable at all.

Yeah ofc you would try to use that come back, but do remember killers are always the one first to complain and ask for survivors perks to be nerfed, its only fair the survivors asks for the same thing. How about both sides stop asking for nerfs of each other things?

if a match is annoying me so much I’m suiciding on first hook and the game doesn’t let me I’ll just dc since I do it so seldom penalties are non existent (Mostly because 90% of my games are as killer), normally that’s just Plague since if makes me feel nauseous (Or I’ll play without sound) or if I’m already having a bad string of matches and the killer brings Franklin.

Super hot take: If a match is genuinely bothering you it’s honestly better just to leave and join another despite any complaints anyone has.

You want to try responding to me again in a less rude and confrontory manner? :)
