I wish Pallets would retire/be replaced.

they don't work 80% of the time and the amount of times i spam space and nothing happens or still stun them but get downed anyway. Really engaging, hit reg and that subjects that has plagued this game since launch in 2016

Pallets are kind of annoying at times. It’s so frustrating pressing space, seeing yourself start the animation and then having nothing happen because the killer moved a millimetre and is now blocking the drop prompt.

Pallets are not a gamble if you pre-drop, if you want to stun the Killer at every pallet, you risk a lot.

I noticed yesterday frame drops on console were taking away my ability to drop pallets and I was getting downed for it. Super fun. That was on the PS4 Pro with SSD, not Switch, so I was a bit taken aback when I realized that was happening.

Meanwhile as Killer I get stunned by a pallet that's half a mile away.

We don't need pallets removed/replaced, we need the game to function in a consistent manner. BHVR messed with killer powers to make them "consistent" across killers, but we have latency and optimization issues screwing us so the base mechanics don't work in a consistent manner.

Performance takes a hit when there are a lot of particle effects on the map and/or the killer. That never gains traction, though.

Holding shift or not holding shift change the hitbox of the pallet / survivor somehow.

I think something is broken with pallets right now, they sometimes vacuum you to them, and sometimes stun from forever away, and sometimes don't stun at all. The hitboxes need tightening, it's unacceptable that a Killer can be stunned from a meter away by ANYTHING and also unacceptable that the game won't let you drop a pallet when you need to. They feel like a gamble and not in the fun way, on both sides.

There's also still too many on some maps, and not nearly enough on others. Gideon is a nightmare for M1s, but Rotten Fields is a deadzone.

wonder what's the antidote for this, what yould yours be other than trying to maintaine 100% optimization with base game mechanics, thats a reach for any online game, some people's connection sucks.

First thing I'd like to see BHVR do is fix particle effects so they're not such a resource hog. A different game I play with much, much better graphics has a setting for the quality of the particle effects. I turned the quality of the SFX down and I have a gorgeous looking game that runs smoothly despite being on the otherwise highest graphics settings.

I go into an area of a DbD map with fire and smoke, things get bad. Someone burns a fog offering, I can't hear the game at all for the PS4 fans turning into jet engines. BHVR makes some new menu screen with more fire and smoke and fog and now the menu runs like hot garbage. Killers with a lot of SFX cause performance drops, too. I'm being chased by Plague, frames are dropping and now I can't interact with the damn pallet.

Anyone else remember when the opening/offering screen with the red clouds was causing issues on console? I remember. I complained about that a crapton before they finally fixed it. But they don't seem to have learned from it.

There's no way to make any online game run perfectly at all times, but DbD has a ridiculous amount of issues. The devs don't do a decent job of optimizing performance on any level, so it adds up more and more and this little problem here and this little problem there compound into me sometimes asking why I'm even bothering to run when the killer sees me.

So yeah, the devs can't do anything about people's internet connection speeds, but their game's coding is a tangled mess with so many if-else-else-else-else-else statements and uncapped SFX that the game is doomed to bad performance even before internet connections become part of the equation.

I remember when there was a time that youd hear the scream of getting downed, but still be standing if the pallet stunned the killer and "Hit" you somehow mid interaction. Thats out the window these days
