A buff to Trapper that might work
It’s rather simple. Whenever someone disarms a trap while Trapper is in a chase he gets Bloodlust Tier 1 for 5 seconds.
When Trapper is in a chase he doesn’t have a power. Bloodlust would make up for it.
Makes sense too. Everyone hears his trap snap, and that infuriates Trapper.

He could already be in bloodlust though. 5% haste for 5 seconds would be better

That would be pretty cool... disarm a trap while Trapper is elsewhere, he becomes more dangerous at loops.
Not a big fan of random haste buffs as a rule, but thematically it makes sense for Trapper.

The person disarming the trap is already wasting time not being on a generator, that is slowdown. That is already best use case.
Any buff to the Trapper ought to start with creating targeting nodes at loops to fix bad trap placements or make traps easier to not misplace in my opinion. That would lower his skill ceiling a tiny bit too.

In theory yes, but reality no. Everyone knows this. Trapper is by far the worst killer in the game.
With Discord players will always disable Trapper’s power once someone else spots the trap, or is in a chase. Trapper wastes more time going around the map to pick up, and arm traps.
Survivors only take all day to disarm his traps when you stack the add ons that increase disarm speeds. That’s usually the ones I use with Oppression, and some Hex like Ruin. Then pray the totem is requires the disarm.
Getting Bloodlust would mitigate this issue for him altogether. Making him dangerous to deliberately coordinate against. It’s best to disarm his traps when you clearly see him not chasing anyone, or arming traps elsewhere.0 -
Yes. That would be his trick. If he’s already in Bloodlust he gets another tier for 5 seconds. Making him lethal at loops for others if you’re taking advantage of disarming his traps in the middle of a chase. Now that survivors can see when survivors are in a chase this won’t be unfair for the survivors.
Remember, during a chase Trapper is M1. He can’t catch you unless he tails you to where his traps are, and that is obvious. Usually when he dedicates too hard a trap is nearby. If he arms his traps at a loop mid chase you simply run away.
Hag is different because she teleports across the map with her traps. She can also combine her power with perks like Devour Hope, and Make Your Choice.
Trapper’s power doesn’t even combine with any perks unless it’s totems, and that’s RNG. Trapper is just hoping someone gets caught. You can go a whole trial without that happening. Then another with it happening nonstop.0 -
Trapper is by far the worst killer in the game.
Trapper isn't the worst Killer in the game, stats released by bHVR shows this. Though you may experience different, trapper is actually performing quite well, and very close to the developer's intentions.
You seem to put a lot of emphasis on discord voice coms as being the downfall of the Trapper, but that really isnt a big problem or something that you get every game. Even so, most discord groups don't call out things that well anyway. I dont think bHVR has ever confirmed this being a huge issue they need solutions for.
Any Trapper buff has to be slight I think.

Over halve the killers with a lower killrate than Trapper have been buffed since those numbers were released. The numbers were released after Hillbillys rework, but they mentioned they were collected beforehand and his post-rework killrate was shown to be way highter.
So even by your killrate logic, Trapper should be up for a pretty decent buff as well.

What killrate logic? the Devs has eluded to their goal being 60% Killrate, so trapper is pretty close on the money, and I already suggested a buff.

You used the killrate as your logic that trapper only needs a very slight buff. Clown, Huntress, Singularity and Demogorgon all got pretty subsequential buffs despite having pretty similar killrates.

Nah read it again, I used killrate as the logic for rejecting substantial buffs. not the same thing.
But there might be diffrent issues the devs know about that we dont.0
