Crouch tech is still happening in ptb.
The patch notes say that the "crouch tech" has been fixed, but I used Billy's power with the survivor crouched on the stairs and the hit still didn't connect.

Thank god, hopefully the devs come to their senses. Removing Crouch tech from S tiers just makes the game so much worse.

But there are weaker killers that suffer from this, like the Demogorgon.

It's sad for Demo but crouch tech is a necessary evil until BHVR finally do something substantial about Billy and, most especially, Blight.

Survivor double standard. Hug tech is an exploit, but crouch tech is fine.

The fix to this in the PTB will still allow crouching to happen when there's a bigger difference in heights, the fix is so that the power cannot be crouched on the majority of areas but if there's an area where there's a big variation in heights - stairs for example, the survivor can still crouch to avoid the hit.

Oh, thanks for clearing that up. I thought crouching in high elevation areas to avoid the hit was unintentional. So it was just fixed when the survivor crouches in the "corner" of the special attack on open areas, right?

But you're still "outplaying" killers through exploit instead of through skill. Isn't that a bad thing?

Does the below video count as a "big variation in heights"?

I literally learned how to do this two weeks ago and now it’s patched??

wobbling is banned brother, yes there are "exploits" in the game but you aren't allowed to use most of them

Wave Dashing was not an intended mechanic and it is considered core tech for most characters

no, it's not 😑

Well dang, I stand corrected. Now I gotta track down all those guys I met at locals when I was starting out who told me it was unintended and tell them they made me look like an idiot online

Why not just remove the vertical camera lock on the affected powers (or at least give it something like a +/- 30 degree variance, which locks once the active hitbox cone-or-whatever starts) so that there can be some actual agency in whether the ability can be "teched"? Just make it so that aiming downward lowers the forward reach of the attack slightly so that it can miss normal hits if the killer tries to aim too low attempting to option select.
