Rework killer MMR for hooks.

Given the increase in slugging and the ongoing debate about whether to nerf survivors or killers, I believe the solution lies in how MMR is rewarded. If a player isn't getting many hooks, they should be placed in a lower skill bracket.

I have suggested in the past to award more points for hooks, but the response was that killers are more interested in eliminating all survivors and don't care about points. I've seen many people on this forum express frustration with the current MMR system, saying they often get matched with players of different skill levels. Behavior should classify slugging as a low-skill tactic. This way, it wouldn't be a debate about whether it's a legitimate strategy or cheating-it's simply low skill.

MMR should be about hooking. But first, the game has to be about hooking. That's the disconnect. If hooks were a worthwhile strategy, we could have your system in today. But because they want to punish hooking as much as possible, through base mechanics and perks, it becomes a less and less appealing option to a dwindling number of killers foolish enough to do it, myself included. I don't know what they're gonna do to fix this, if ever, but I do know it never had to get to this point.

Yeah sorry but this suggestion was not thought out well.

Your vision of punishment is more like a reward, killers that don't want to deal with swfs or good looping survivors will just slug and go for low MMR matches.

New players are put into low MMR from the get go so instead of going against another new player they go against a 5k+ hour nurse. Which by this just destroys the whole point of MMR.

"What?! They're called KILLERS!!! Not Hookers!" < This was the most common argument about it when MMR was first introduced Crazy how now that killers play for kills instead of hooks it's unliked

For real though killers have been saying for years game could be a lot more balanced if hooks were the main balance point

Kills doesn't equals skill. This game would be a lot better if the win condition for killer were designed around hooks, not kills. The developers dont even understand their own game and that's why they are so bad when it comes to improving it and changing things.

And if you think this is wrong go ask the youtubers Ortzarva and TrU3Ta1ent, who are veterans and actually know and understand this game better than any of you and the developers.

I didn't mean to offend anyone. My immediate thought is that perhaps the 5k+ hour nurse could benefit from getting matched with some newer players to learn to play the game better. And no offense, but slugging is quite easy, especially against flashlight squads.

As for other options, I've heard some people suggest a surrender option similar to League of Legends.

This might cause some to surrender due to a dislike for the killer character, but either way it would help reduce wait times for killers.

if we awarded MMR on hooks, then all the sluggers would end up with the newest survivors,

it would be the equivalent of the game shooting itself in the foot.

The problem of slugging 4k the ONLY counter is SWF coms. Solos have no perk or counter to it. Buckle up lost its endurance bonus replaced by a terrible 5 sec haste bonus to which against the speed killers does nothing. Even TruTalent admitted it works against Solos not Swfs.

MMR is not a reward, quite the opposite.

You don't get BP for it, or any other reward. You can't even see it.

Games just get harder, so if you don't like something, then it should give more MMR instead, no?
