Hot Take - Killer's should have 5 Perks not 4.

Title. (For the record, I am not saying we should or shouldn't. Just a Hot Take I found on the internet.)

    I'd prefer an addon rework into something like perks. Theyd still be addons but less "+10% x" and more perk-like effects.

    I would like there to be 5 perks, but 5 was only the totem perk slot (excluding devouring) survivors are screaming that they have no targets other than generators, and killers don't use totems except for a full totem build, so this would improve the situation a bit on both sides

    I would love to have a 5th perk slot if you can not put any slowdown in it. Would be annoying to go against 5 Gen perks. But if it excluded those would be cool if there was a way to do that

    I will be fine with most killers perk not being useless / too situational crap and get rid of slowdown dependency to begin with. You know, bring meme or chase build and don't expect that game will end in 5 minutes no matter what.

    Exactly. I think a system where you put perks in different categories where you can only use a certain amount of perks in that category in the same build would be interesting though.

    i have to agree. i think the 4 perk vs 16 perks is a bit too much. the 4 perks have to be insanely powerful to compensate 16 perks. 5 perks vs 16 would put less strain on singular perk being strong and allow you to create more middling level perks in power that gain power through synergy.

    survivors can synergy perks but killer does not have enough slot space to create synergy. The synergy is super limiting.

    in the end, the perk are always going to be certain perk. it is the whole X factor. the slowdown perk are so neutered that they barely affect the game. it's same for undetectable, aura perks or chase perks. they're like survivor-tier strength perks but you get less perk slots as killer.

    I feel like the whole "4 perks versus 16 perks" argument ignores the fact that DBD is an asymmetrical game so there are goings to be benefits/disadvantages to playing a given role. :)

    Anytime I see this argument, I have to ask, what would make it fair? 16 perks on Killer? Less perks on Survivor? Where do you draw the line?

    we're not saying that killer should not be at disadvantage. we are saying that disadvantage is too high and should be shorten. proposal to shorten is 5th perk slot for killer.

    it put a lot of stress for every single perk for killer to be very high impact but most of killer perks are medium impact. the bad killer perk are like no impact because they're atrocious like… Hex:Two can play or like no quarter. whenever developer make high impact perks, they're often deemed as too powerful and they get nerfed to medium-tier.

    they already exist. they get nerfed. examples are Chucky's rat poison which is an aura perk or Nurse's fragile wheeze which is sloppy butcher mangled which used to be permanent. now it is 70 seconds. not only does this not work, it is boring add-on design. some of the add-on that were perks even get removed such as Blight used to have add-on called "Summoning stone" which gives hex:blood favor, it got deleted.

    Giving killers a 5th perk slot? Might as well make lightborn basekit because that's what most people would use it for I'd expect. 4 slowdown perks + lightborn for the lulz = profit.

    If not that then it would just be chaos. Too many perks for killer alone, it would be cool if both killer and survivor had 5 slots but we really don't need all of that right now don't you think?

    The only way I would agree is having two options base class +2 perks or 4 perks for Survivors and Killer

    That means you play your base perk plus two more or pick and choose 4.
