Alternate "interactions" bind for controller players
If the trapper puts a trap directly under a pallet, controller players have no way to disarm the trap and have to drop the pallet. If I know my opponents are on controller, I'm putting a trap directly under the shack pallet to get rid of it.
If a survivor in the dying state crawls under a pallet, controller players can't heal them without dropping the pallet.
I have experimented with changing the bindings and unfortunately every combination always results in something not quite working right. And I tried quite a few!
Can we have an option for a second button to be used as a backup? So instead of no option for disarm or heal showing up, we get the secondary button prompt instead. Is this something that can be already done on PC? (ini files or whatever)

There is an easy option for it. Many years old. Just go into settings (in the game) and change the button for "Action" (Pallet throw, vault, etc.) or "Interaction" (Gens, healing, etc.).
With the normal settings both have the same button (R1), but you can easily change one of the two. I recommend R3 for vaulting.

I tell anyone who starts playing to remind their controls immediately for controller.
You only need to face Pinhead once to see why it's a problem.
- R2: Use item
- R1: Interaction
- L2: Sprint
- L1: Action
- Triangle: Pick/Put down item
- Circle: Crouch
Action/Interaction are the two time time critical inputs, so they go on the bumpers.
Use item and sprint are less important and tend to be held, so they go on triggers.
Pick Up and Crouch are actions you usually don't take under pressure, so you can take upur thumb off looking around to use them as they don't need to be on time critical buttons. In the rare cases you need a fast Crouch, claw hand will make do. You don't need it often.

The first thing I did when I started, was to change the control settings. The default layout is awful. I have circle for interactions and R3 for vaulting. It works great.

Is better than base for sure, though I know for a fact R3 for actions would mess me up so hard at some point with how I tend to fat thumb R3 xD
Kudos for making that work xD1 -
Its not just a controller issue. The game has super poor controls to begin with.

I tried using R3 for actions. All seemed fine until I got into a chase with an item. I'd run up to a window and then inexplicably start randomly clicking my flashlight, or start injecting myself with a Nemmy syrum. I'd also have a trigger finger with flashbangs as they would just go off in my hand.
I think I also suffer from fat thumb syndrome.

Circle for crouch is interesting, but holding circle while moving my camera might be a bit too much for my old hands!

Well the hope is, there are not many time critical instances you need to crouch... but in fairness I am a dark souls player, so claw hand is nothing new to me 😁😁😁😁
