Kindred should be basekit, this would help solo players a lot.

Kindred basekit would greatly help solo players to have information about other survivors, what they are doing, who is closest to the hooked survivor and if there is someone going to the save. Devs should really consider this.

If they removed the killer aura part then maybe we can talk about this.

It would help solo queue but definitely not the right time to introduce it. Would be another thing to push killers even more to stopping hooking and just slugging everyone. We are way too far down that road already without this taking us even further.

Slugging is a problem that the devs themselves created, instead of giving the killer an incentive to want to hook a survivor, they just keep nerfing all the generator defense perks. I don't blame killers who think slugging is more beneficial.

Hmmmm…. can only speak from my own perspective/preference as a SoloQ player… but I don't really want Kindred basekit for myself.
If we didn't have the HUD I'd be more inclined to agree, but I believe you can discern most information you need from the HUD, while still maintaining a degree of skill for survivor in reading and predicating allied behaviour. I find operating on imperfect information and reading the actions of my teammates of the HUD quite stimulating, and basekit Kindred would hamper that.
It's also drastically diminish the value of perks like Bond and Empathy, perks I rather like to build around sometimes, at having this aura gives me the same vibes as basekit Nowhere To Hide for killer. Fine as a perk that I've taken for its specific effect, but not something I want imposed upon me automatically.
While I see the argument, I would not be a fan personally.

It's a combination of both gen defence nerfs and constant increase in powerful hook related survivor perks I think. This would be another another hook related thing. The amount of hook related perks killers don't have to worry about and flashlight/pallet/flashbang saves is what makes it a powerful build. And that's before the amount of time walking to hooks.
But yeah, balance is totally out now.

Survivor aura reading? sure, maybe limit it on people outside of your group
Killer aura reading? Hell no1 -
any aura reading would be good. like maybe if you play soloq, you gain a 36 meter version of bond but if you play group, it does not apply. equipping the perk in soloq grants an extra 12 meters while swf unlock the ability to see teammates.

I really like your idea, but this would be very difficult for the developers to tune, perfect, and implement.
I'm interested to read why you both feel that way. I'm not able to figure it out based on the clues left behind.

Seeing the killer should be gone, but the hooked survivor's anti camp meter should be visible to all so they at least know the killer is camping without revealing their exact location

Basically because it would be huge nerf to every M1 killer. It's very big deal when you can clearly see killer is running towards you so much in advance. So you can either prerun, or hide.
Not even SWF can often do this, either killer break LoS from hook, or survivor is stuck in struggle animation and can't look.

Sure, I am kinda surprised they didn't include it in HUD already…

Comms still need to communicate that the Killer is nearby.
Killer aura reading circumvents this.
The community just needs to reach a consensus on what flailing means and you now have a method of communication.
That being said I still don't like base-kit kindred as it adds more visual clutter to the game.

I feel like making the anti camp meter visible would be the way to show the killer being nearby without giving too much information.
3 -
Yeah, as long as killer aura reading was removed, then I'd be all for it. The kindred perk itself would become almost useless, as killers don't camp anymore. So if the basekit proposal was implemented, then perhaps the kindred perk could be buffed to see survivor's auras when another survivor has been downed which might help with slugging.

Pain res, grim embrace, DMS, Pop, NWO : all META perks. Hooking a survivor is far from being a bad option.
But yeah you also give tools for survivors to fight back, it's a trade. IMO when survivors will get used to slugging, this strat will fall flat in comparison.

Yeah. Still not a fan of how the anti-camp feature was handled design-wise, but that'd work (in terms of communication). Of course that doesn't really help when it comes to alerting about proxy-camping.

Isn't it kinda an issue, if you need to use perks so major part of the game (hooking) doesn't seem as "bad option"?
1 -
Wdym ? Basekit killer or survivor is bad anyway. Perks are making the game for both sides.

Your argument for slugging vs hooking was basically based on perks.
Basekit killer or survivor is bad anyway. Perks are making the game for both sides.
I would say playing survivor without perks is definetly easier, simply because killer perks are simply more impactful (as they should be), so difference is bigger.
2 -
Why? You can still use the perk for your own information. That's what I do.

basekit if it was for 25 seconds only, not permanet effect, and killers should start with corrupt intervention for 1 min basekit too
1 -
Hooking survivor basekit progress towards the sacrifice. Basekit, good option, Meta perks even better option. Period.
Not taking into account the impact of perks is irrelevant for a typical game.

Well, with that argument slugging gets exactly same result with less risk, no? I can pick perks that works exactly same for slugging, but survivors are most likely going to have only few anti-slugging perks, when anti-tunneling/camping are more common.
Every slugging is progress towards the bleed out, which is still survivor out of the game.
Meta perks "CAN" make hooking better option, but it's not like there are not builds that would make slugging better and most perks work exactly same for both.
Just to clarify, I rarely go full slugging unless survivors annoyed me, or I have to use it in order to win the game. Never as default playstyle. I simply found your argument kinda flawed…I think it is an issue there is kinda no reason to spread hooks and tunneling/slugging are simply way better options unless you pick either Pain res, No way out, or Grim embrace…

This would be a net W for the game.
