Thanks for the Useless BOTS in the 2v8 Event Mode

And again BHVR's horrendous decision strikes again to make something unfun cause they ignored the feedback
rather then increasing BP Gain on the Survivor side
rather then make it able to pip for grades
They added Bots, and it was said to be used only when necessary but every lobby have now 2 Bots if you are not in a 8 man Group

The problem is, they previously tried all this and it didn't work, except pipping for grades which for the life of me I don't understand WHY NOT, it can't be that hard to implement.
The issue isn't bots, though they don't help. The issue is, nobody wants to play Survivor when the 2 part of 2v8 is and always has been the big draw.
The bigger issue is that Killer has simply always and always will be the much more fun mode. You never played Survivor "for fun". You played it to hang with friends.

Played it for an hour and I'm sick of it already. Not worth queueing for 20+ minutes to play killer, survivor is boring already. This watered down trash is what we ruin the game for for over two weeks yet again? LOL

if 500% BP gain wouldn't worked then just increased to 700 or 800 till it works
and they could add a new class, a Witch Class to be more specific that can Boon the totems and give some sort of Buffs

Yeah, nobody is going to want to play survivor with 2 bots. And there are also going to be players like myself who don't want to play killer against bots either. This creates more problems than it solves. The bots are not a solution to anything given their current performance.

Completely disagree. Sometimes survivor is funnier than killer. Sometimes it is the other way around. While on average killer does provide me with more fun, survivor can be extremely fun in a different way. It is true that its fun is destroyed by killers more often than killer's fun destroyed by survivors, but when it happens (and it happens) it is a worse feeling than that of a survivor.

"to reduce the wait time for all players" - needless to say that the queues are the same as before, ~ 20 minutes on average to get a lobby as killer. Just not worth it at all

Instead giving massive bb bonus they could give small amount of shards that could be even more effective. Also why not add pipping as well.
I think there could be class which has anti-tunneling and survivors should be able to take items in match but not addons to them.

I play survivor for fun. I like playing both sides of the chase.

I think it's more common that in general, your fun is destroyed either side by people who want to troll and be jerks in general, it's not a Killer thing. It's a crappy player thing.
And I would also argue that as Survivor you expect to be the underdog, so like you said it feels HORRIBLE as Killer but merely annoying as Survivor.0 -
It definitely wouldn't have been my first solution, but I hope it at least cuts down the queue times for killers. I did think the bots needed more improvement to their AI. If the devs didn't do anything different, and just put the same bots that were in 1v4 into 2v8, you could be looking at 2 dead weight teammates as survivor basically every time.

These are just some ideas from the past 2v8 mode i saw.
And yes maybe it would be not the best idea for this mode to fix the problem, but it would be much better than the 2 Bots we have Now

Queue times are the same as ever, the bots don't have improved AI, and they are deadweight. The mode is dead on arrival. How many survivors are going to want to play this for 2 weeks? It's absolutely terrible!
Bots not mending against Legion, the mess up heals, they just stand there t-bagging. It's one huge mess.

For reals, after this 2v8 is done, I'm super curious to what percentage of games needed bots.
Because "we're only adding bots as needed" is super vague. How often is "as needed"? Considering how bad the killer queue times are now, I'm guessing pretty much every game now, that isn't a literal 8-SWF, will have at least 1 bot in it.

Oh and has anyone else experienced super laggy servers? Like my ping in 2v8 is above 60 always, when it was always in the 30-40 range before.

Im not sure why they insist in trying to force 2v8 down everyone's throats. Every time 2v8 comes out, it just means it's time to stop playing dbd until the event is over.

Sadly the wait time is still 10+ mins, even with bots filling up the vacant slots.
Better rewards for survivor players should be introduced so more people will be interested in playing as survivors. It's really tiresome to spend 10 - 20 mins waiting for the match.

I enjoyed playing survivor in the last 2v8 modes quite a lot. Unfortunately, but predictably, BHVR ignored the overwhelmingly negative feedback coming from the community and decided to go forward with bots anyway.
I would have been plenty happy to play survivor side in 2v8 again, but absolutely will not play this time because of the bots.13 -

Hey there folks. Popping in here to let you know that our Community Team is treating collecting and sharing feedback with the team as our top priority today. While I'm seeing general comments about how folks feel about bots in here (which we are also sharing with the team), I'd also love to dig into the specifics of how you're feeling, as these can often be the most useful feedback points.
If there are specific instances of bots doing things that you've liked or have found disruptive in 2v8, I'd love to hear them.3 -
The biggest issue with bots are that survivors are dodging them, because going into a game with 2 bots puts your in a huge disadvantage. So this dodging time not only make queues worse for killer, but also survivors.
Second biggest issue with bots is how scared they are, they leave a gen almost as soon as they hear a heartbeat (which happens frequently with two killers on the map). One game of survivor I had bot Yun Jin, run corner map and not touch a generator all game. The killers ignored her, because they knew she wasn't helping.
Third problem is they don't last very long in chase, their pathing to edge of the map or triple vaulting a window, makes it easy to cheese them into dying fast.
There are probably more issues, but those are my top 3. They are so bad, they basically make the game a 2v6. Making it boring and easy to play killer, while frustrating to play survivor.25 -
If only we would have known before the event that survivors would not want to play with bots and that bots in general are bad in the game…

It's a multiplayer game. We don't want to play with ai teammates. Simple as.

The issue is more than just functionality of the bots.
When I queue for 2v8, I hold the expectations that there are 2 people playing Killer and 8 people playing Survivor, not 2 people playing Killer and 6 people playing Survivors (2 are bots). The entire point of 2v8 is interesting interactions between Killers and Survivors, and removing players and replacing them with bots removes a lot of that appeal and interest for me.
In normal 2v8, I can do Generators, have a bit of time to goof off with a teammates a bit, which is where some cool or interesting interactions have, like teammates using the Medic healing ability to heal our entire group a single Health State in the middle of a chase, or even just funny meme stuff on the side, which bots cannot do, since bots are not human and do not come with that understanding.
Just please consider removing them and saving them for players who DC, starting a match with 2 Bots from the start was just a horrible idea that kills the fun. :(

The bots behave even worse than in normal mode. They barely touch gens (which is something they usually do in normal mode), they always prioritize unhooks and healings instead of finishing gens that are at 95% and they cancel their action whenever they're in a terror radius.
I don't mind them not being world class at looping, because this is probably hard to program right, but they should at least focus gens and not just running headlessly through the map.
Besides that, lobby times for killer haven't changed at all (17 minutes, EU)

They T-Bag for no reason, trying to heal someone who is already getting healed by 2 Survivors so it just stay there and look at us till the healing is finished, hiding for no reason… and the list goes on
if the Team really cares tell them please to remove the BOTS, increase the BP on Survivor Side and let us pip-up

TBH I haven’t minded the bots as teammates. They do gens more often than the humans do.

They added items that give you free heals and free hook states. They're doing both.

i want to start out by saying that bots do not belong into a pvp game. They should be removed from all future modes and modifiers. They have numeous problems and I do not believe that they can or will be fixed.
I'm still going to list the worst parts about them because in my endless naivete I believe that it might change something:
- Overall, they behave like players that just downloaded the game. This puts the entire survivor team at a huge disadvantage.
- Bots are way too scared of the terror radius. They literally crouch walk to the edge map and stay there until the terror radius is gone.
- Their pathing is terrible. On rpd it is very common to get bodyblocked by a bot that is currently trying to crouch walk away from a terror radius (see point 1) and very often they are just running around without a purpose.
- They won't ever attempt to save another player once all gens are done. Even if you are caged right next to an open gate and no killer is near, the bot will walk past you and escape.
- They miss skill checks. Completely unnecessary.
- So far, I haven't seen them use their 2v8 abilities at all. Maybe because they are too scared to do anything but hide behind a rock.
- Chests break them. I have seen them crouch around an unopened chest and they only stopped after I opened it.
- They can't handle infections. Curing an infection seems to have a very low priority for them.
- They can't handle deep wound, effectively feeding legion free downs by mending in his face.
- Their AI in chase is extremely bad. For example, they will path straight to a Z wall and vault that window 3 times even if they get hit instead of pathing to a safer structure.
This isn't even an exhaustive list, it's just what I could think of right now.

People just don't want to play with or against bots in an online multiplayer PVP game.
The addition of bots (except power based, such Knight's guards) in such games is just a bad decision in general.
Instead of "treating all ailments with bots" - it's better to find an actual fix.

Evwry match ive played in has had bots. All my matches has two bots. Legion is a literal blight having people constantly mending, so no one was doing gens. Ive escaped once and played maybe about 10 matches, all survivor of course. Im not waiting no more than 7 mins for a lobby. Survivors are horrendous, almost as if they lost the thought to loop the killer, if given the option (two killer two tap). The bp incentive doesnt even amount to much. I Would like to at least get 100k bp for playing this stupid mode as survivor where the bots do next to nothing as long as they hear the killers terror radius.

Instead of fixing the problem, which is making the Survivor role interesting by for example:
- Adding more classes (literally could just mush up a few perks together, how about a Head-On class?)
- Adding new mechanics (something that isn't just do x thing faster / instantly, there as of now haven't been a single thing Survivors haven't seen before in the mode, rebuilding pallets was cool for like 3 seconds sadly, then it quickly wore off since it's just modified Any Means Necesarry, what if instead of a cooldown you had to scavenge for pallet splinters from dropped pallets which would build up the Perk)
- New objective? (Something that isn't just holding m1 on an object, be a little creative for once and try doing something that isn't just a glorified loading screen)
You added bots, which lets talk about them now a little. So far the bots seem to be quite bad, they get stuck, they block you, they're trying to search chests that you're already searching, so they just awkwardly run into you until the action is either finished or some decision timer runs up. They are decent at some tiles (because they have wallhacks), but they still frequently run into deadzones. They also sometimes just do not want to heal you, which is quite frustrating. (I also haven't seen a bot interact with the self healing flower things that were added, but that might just be a rare thing so they just don't steal all of them on the map lol)
Like always in the 2v8, the Killer gameplay is great, Survivors need a lot of work, no more band-aid fixes please…

apparently everyone who told this to BHVR a while ago before the event started was part of a “vocal minority” . I’m very curious where this giant crowd of pro-bot players are, because they sure as hell were not voicing their opinions on this or other public forums.

The bots are horrendous.Just to add an experience from one of my games: Nancy Bot didn't do a single gen all game and when I unhooked her and attempted to heal her, she ran for the yellow herb taking it from a real player. Adding bots into the game was a waste of resources when you guys could have been adding stuff that we actually asked for like new survivor roles. Instead we got...bots that make it easier for killers to win. Bots should only be there so the game isnt a loss if someone dc's. Not as a permanent game measure.
Might as well just make it 2v6 because the bots don't contribute anything meaningful.

Hey, signed on to the forums for the first time in ages to post about -- you guessed it -- bots!
I opened a chest start of match. Only because I had a rift challenge requiring me to do so. A bot crouched and glued their nose to me, and watched me open the entirety of the chest. They swerved back and forth until it was opened. They also did the same thing while I was healing and they couldn't reach the healing target. Again, it happened with an Exit Gate I was opening when there was a player caged nearby. It appears the bots lock onto a target and refuse to re-prioritize when they cannot reach something, and just sway back and forth walking into the obstruction(me).
The bots also immediately run away, even if I'm 90% healed, as soon as the killer radius touches them. Aaaand given that Wesker and Huntress have a large radius, they basically just run the entire game, inevitably finding the Yellow Herb and consuming it, taking away from rewards actual human players should be getting.
I feel like bots need a tweak on recognizing when a player is already doing the activity the bot was trying to do, and to reprioritize their actions.
I feel like bots should not consume the yellow herb.
I feel like most of my enjoyability is garnished by the constant frustrations I am having with the bots and micromanaging their erratic behavior and agonizing downfalls.

Picture this. It's end game collapse and you get downed opening the gate and sent to the cage. You look around and no one is near...crap. Wait! Is it? Could it be? A bot is coming to rescue me from the cage! Oh, nevermind. It came across the map, came into the jungle gym I was in and just walked on by. Then decided to double back, right past me, and ran straight to the killers a few moments later and instantly went down. Good times…. Sigh.

My feedback is turn them off, I would like to play the mode lol they leave you to die, take all of the antidotes and body block, don't heal. They take all the herbs it feels like, like beeline it for them

This is a game I just had. A Mikaela bot who is apparently programmed to prioritise chests, as she just pushed against me as I tried to open one instead of just hopping on a gen right next to us. Then the Jonah bot in the background of the second shot, just repeatedly vaulting that one vault in the background. He was just doing it over and over (cbf uploading the video but i have one). There weren't even any killers around, why was he doing that? This is why people hate the bots 😑

I think the irony of the 2v8 bots is that they're there to help fill out Survivor lobbies, but the prospect of playing with bots turns even more Survivors away from the game mode anyway.

It's their general playstyle. Just had a game where every survivor was dead or on death hook, and neither bot had been hooked yet. This means survivors are being eliminated more quickly, without hooks being spread the catch up mechanic isn't working. They seem to be good at avoiding ever getting in chase with killers, which makes it kind of pointless.
