Why Is Chucky's terror radius 32m? Whilst Pig, Ghost face and Skull Merchant been reduced to 24m?

After reading the Terror Radius Adjustment section on this recent I was wondering why Chucky's terror radius is still set at 32 while Pig, Ghost Face, and Skull Merchant recently had theirs reduced to 24 meters.
So you've changed three killers with a stealthy mechanic that can suppress their terror radius to 24 meters, it seems odd that Chucky hasn't got the same treatment. Is there a design reason behind this, or has there been any discussion about potentially adjusting it? - Be nice if a Developer or the Community Manger could comment

I think it’s cause of chuckys size cause he’s the only killer who’s 2 ft tall and small. So I guess to balance his size they give him a bigger TR

That doesn't make sense, killer size shouldn't determine the Terror Radius. As he already makes a lot of sound effects in game which already blows his cover for survivors listening and paying attention, never mind with his illusionary footprints.
If this was the case, The Hag who was the shortest killer before Chucky would also have a bigger terror radius, but doesn't, it's also 24m. Chucky’s ability completely removes his TR, so a 32m base TR might be a way to make sure survivors have more warning when he’s not in stealth. But still, with Pig, Ghost Face, and Skull Merchant getting 24m, it does seem inconsistent.

Not necessarily the point of stealth is to catch them off guard and, to be honest I barely hear him when he's in stealth or not, just like how ghostface has stealth mode but you can clearly see him if you look around. the thing about chucky is he does not have this issue he is overstimulating because, of the false foot steps, and constant sound effects you would barely notice him if he were to walk even in plain sight with grass covering him. so I feel like the terror radius outside of stealth mode would be reasonable due to the fact you would barely see him otherwise.
Completely disregarding the fake footsteps doesn't make any sense because, it does play a big part in applying pressure, and hiding where you could be or could not be.
The hag argument is…not to be rude but not the smartest comparison as the size difference between hag, and chucky are drastic. hag isn't even nearly as close to the size of chucky; chucky is well a doll and very not spotable as for, what it would be for hag I don't think it's about the fact he's the shortest killer it's about the fact that he is so short you wouldn't be able to spot him unless you really look for him which hence; why he is a stealth killer a killer who should catch you off guard when you aren't paying attention not when you are practically looking for him.
In conclusion: my punctuation sucks and he's a short killerPost edited by Clevarz on6 -
Think of his size as like another special ability he has which is most likely intended

Probably because of his size and his dash.
3 -
Because Chucky is tiny and has a mobility power (to an extent). Pig/GF/Merchant don't have either of those
7 -
pig probably has somewhat of a mobility ability but its like minor compared to chucky's imo

That's a good question! Chucky exists in an interesting place where he has aspects of a stealth-focused Killer (as you mentioned), but also has strong mobility with his dash. A 32m terror radius mirrors the balance he has between these two facets of his kit.

I appreciate your response. But I do feel like it's bit of an oversight If I can say, as Pig and Skull Merchant has a mix of stealth and mobility who still got theirs reduced. Skull Merchant gets a +5% Haste from the Drones when using them when placing or rotating, and still gets 24 meter terror radius.

What would that be?

Pig's dash isn't actually useful for map mobility at all though so that doesn't really count

Were there considerations for onryo and wraith?

Onryo's TR (and lullaby) is already 24m.
As for Wraith, he probably wouldn't benefit as much from this as the other killers since he spends a lot of his time in cloak anyway, whereas Pig moves slower while crouched so it's not always a good thing for her (unlike Wraith who moves faster while cloaked so there's little reason not to do it) and SM/Ghostface can only be stealthy on a cooldown. It would also make Starstruck worse on Wraith which is a decent perk for him.
Wraith's whooshing sound audio cue when he finishes cloaking/uncloaking is also audible within 40 meters (which can tell you he's at least somewhat nearby) which would mitigate part of the benefit of a lower TR as well. So overall a reduced terror radius would probably not help him that much compared to the others.

Pig terror radius should’ve been 20 she still feels bad to play

No one usin pigs ambush or merchants haste as a mobility tool

That and Chucky's REAL power is being able to play killer in third person. I can't even put into words what an enormous game changer that is for mind games

makes it almost impossible to loop sometimes

The devs picked only a few killers to try the new TR's with, and see how things work out. Don't worry, once they get the hang of things, Chucky may yet go to the prom!

Skull Merchant and Pig do not have mobility at all. 32 meters is the right call.

Because Chucky gets nothing. That's what they've decided on that killer. He was a cash grab, and every day the nerfs go unreverted prove it further.
-3 -
I really don't think that does anything.

Sadako already has a low 24m TR, we're not looking to go below that number, and Wraith fits with the current 32m, he has no terror radius whilst cloaked and moves at a greater speed so he has some ability to cover the map well, not as much as Billy for example but it's still faster than the 4.6/4.4 defaults.
We've gone through the roster about the existing Killers we wanted to adjust and they were listed in the Developer Update, right now there's no plans for changing Chucky's TR, we feel that given what's involved in his kit that 32m is in the right range. We might see new upcoming Killers with different TR's however, so not just the default 32m anymore.

What about Wesker? I honestly never understood why he has a 40m terror radius. Yes, he has the virulent bounds, but they are much more limited and cannot cross the entire map like Billy and Blight.

He can still close distance SUPER fast. Even if it's not across the map, how fast can he close the distance from going outside his TR to ontop of you. Wesker can travel roughly 20 meters in the timespan of 2 seconds. Map mobility isn't what determines Terror radius, otherwise deathslinger's wouldn't be high. It's determined by how close a killer is to a survivor that you should be wary.

I believe it's because she needs to wait for fatigue and the cooldown of the blinks, during which time the survivor can run calmly.

They increased the Deathslinger's terror radius because of the Monitor and abuse perk, not because of this. With this perk you could shoot the survivor before he even noticed your terror radius, since his shot went further than the terror radius itself. So the terror radius is indeed defined by mobility. So there's no reason for Wesker to be 40m, his power doesn't go that far and has a long cooldown.

Nurse isn't actually that fast moving across the map, she has bursts of speed with long cooldowns between them.
1 -
Probably because Nurse has the slowest walking speed and has to wait for fatigue after blinking which also slows her down. If she uses her power to cross the map, she can't immediately hit a survivor more than a few meters away. Whereas if Billy/Blight use their power for mobility they may still be able to immediately hit a survivor or walk them down considering they have 4.6 movement speed, and Billy is an instant down killer too. Even Wesker is still 4.6 after using his power and may still be able to walk the survivor down if he's close enough + he also has a (albeit situational) instant down mechanic and hinder. But Nurse is entirely reliant on her power to get a hit and she pretty much will have to wait for her cooldown no matter what.
Additionally, due to her walking speed during cooldown, her speed while charging a blink, her reduced speed during the chain blink window/after blinking, and her reduced speed during fatigue, her mobility from blinks overall isn't actually faster than a walking 4.6 killer, at least in terms of moving in a straight line. Obviously, Nurse can save some time by going through walls/through structures/etc. - her mobility is absolutely insane on maps like Midwich for this reason and is a big part of why Midwich Nurse is absolutely busted and unfair, but it's not actually that crazy on most other maps. So for those reasons the 40m would actually not be justified for Nurse imo. I do think Nurse needs some nerfs and I want to see her nerfed, but not this specific change.

This gives me hope for the Unknown T_T

The other killers shouldn't have had their TR reduced to 24m in the first place so, maybe for the better that bhvr doesn't make further bad changes

To be honest I don't think Chuck is a real stealth killer. Survivors get clues if he is close even in stealth. And he is even much smaller, hard to spot so I see no problem about his terror radius
