ONI'S 180° is dead and it's terrible.

So, Ihave something to say about this. I'll start with my story of getting to know ONI
I came to the game in the spring of 2017, and until 2020 I was the main Billy, as you know, in 2020 he was reworked. And I discovered a new character for me, it was ONI, I started playing him and studying his mechanics a lot.
Then one day I was banned (for no reason) and I left the game for more than half a year.
But what made me come back and forgive such an unfair act?
Right! It was the same character called "ONI"
I realized for myself that I was ready to play this game only because of him and he was the only thing that kept me here and made me endure the whole nightmare that was happening in the game all these years, every time another patch came out, simplifying the game on the survivors side, I said to myself: "the main thing is that this game has my favorite character...." I loved him so much that even when Billy was made strong again and even stronger than before, I was no longer interested in him.
From 2020 to this day, I call myself "Oni main" because I have played a huge number of hours on this character and the potential of this killer is fully revealed in my hands.
Now I will try to explain why removing 180° from ONI is a bad idea.
ONI is one of the most difficult characters in the game to learn, and appearance of "180° " made this killer more difficult. But this difficulty was justified, because if you spend enough amount of time on mastering it, this character becomes so strong in your hands.
BUT, this "180° " mechanic has never been unbalanced, of course, it gave its value, but it did not make the killer something extremely strong. In other words, this mechanic doesn't make killer too opprasive and unbalanced for rework, as it is too difficult for learning, so small amount of players can use it and that's why it doesn't affect on game balance. To this day, he cannot compete in strength with characters like blight, Nurse or Billy. I also see in advance that it will be impossible to defeat strong survivors using only "90° " And we can also compare ONI with such characters as The Good Guy or The Spirit.
The ONI player must accumulate his ability himself and use it wisely, accordingly it (ability) must initially be stronger than that of The Good Guy or The Spirit. After all, on these characters the player will use its ability most of the game and if he unsuccessfully uses it, he practically does not lose anything, because a small amount of time will pass before he can press m2 and use it again until he succeeds in doing what he wants. But this cannot be said about ONI, although his ability lasts longer, but player can also use it in a wrong way due to his inexperience or mistake, and if the use of ONI’S ability does not lead to the fact that at least one survivor has been downed, then the ONI player will most likely lose the match.
So if ONI worked like The Spirit, 90° would be enough for him, but he works completely differently, so 180° is an integral part of him, without which he will not be able to compete with the survivors above average level.
Good survivors already know how to play against "180° " and if you remove what they have learned to resist, defeating ONI will not cause them any problems.
As far as I understand, this was done to "equalize" players with a controller and a computer. But why remove this mechanic when you can give it to both sides.
I think it's wrong when developers first add it and then remove it with no reason, despite the fact that players have studied it for tens, hundreds and thousands of hours and it turns out as if they were wasting their time on it.
I decided for myself that if this update reaches the main servers, then I will leave this game once and for all and it is at this point that my long (almost 8 years) stay here will end.
And what do you think about this?

Tbh, i dont really get it or why they change it so many years later, but here we are.
At least Oni wasnt hitted as hard as alien.

Apparently it is not possible to do it with a controller, much like flicks in general.

those are two completely different changes. Alien got numbers nerf, Oni got complete mechanical aspect gutted.
Difference is also that this change on Oni can't be compensated with a numbers buff, while this Alien neef can.

I think the main reason why they did remove it wasn't because of strength but because of how stupid it felt like as a survivor. You apply the correct counterplay, which is to put an object between yourself and the killer and they still hit you.
I highly doubt that this happened often enough to significantly impact his strength even on the highest skill levels but it's equally important to consider how fun something is to play against as it is to play. And in this instance it felt terrible getting hit like that.
I don't like removing skillful gameplay options and I can 100% understand why you wouldn't like it but looking at this from a neutral perspective, there was no way to satisfy both sides.

In fact, I think that this post will not help at all, and no one will see it) For example, as it was with the slinger's sights. 180 on Oni is an advantage that allows you to down the survivor in absolutely any tile without breaking. And in almost all cases. It seems to me that it is difficult to oppose anything to this. At least I can say this, pro Oni players will lose practically nothing from this, they will still quickly catch up.
However, it is a fact that the fun is lost. It is also a fact that it is disrespectful to players (who have learned this for a long time). But I think nothing can be done. As it happened with the blight, so it will be with Oni0 -
Getting downed by an Oni's super flick has always felt awful, i am glad its changed.

That's BHVR we're talking about. It took them 4 years to get rid of Blight's hug tech and like 7 to make the bubble notifications conceal auras. They're just that slow and/or indecisive.

If BHVR continues to make shadow changes without bringing them to the community of players, respect for them will disappear. I don't like that they do this. The same thing happened when they cut Chucky's addons. I am also against removing this mechanic, although I am not a big fan of Oni. I understand how players tried and spent time studying this bug and when everyone got used to it so much, it will be the same as cutting out the mechanics of sliding along the wall on Wesker, when he can go to the other side of the loop. I only know how to do this technique on Wesker a little, but it was this that gave me the opportunity to play Wesker again. I regretted buying it for a long time, since its ability does not allow you to close in complex structures or a regular pallet between stones. But after watching a bunch of videos with this technique, I was fired up with the dream of learning how to do the same. I spent time, played 5 games in a row, tried to use it in pursuit. I'm not perfect at this, but sometimes it works and I enjoy the game like never before. Those who play as survivors and always whine that something is wrong, the balance is on your side for the most part. Fixing 2 or 3 of the 5 generators in the first 2 minutes of the game is not fair. It's not balanced. Survivors should feel threatened by the killer, not consider him a clown.

It used to be possible tho, but they removed it. Console used to be able to flick while looking up, because you didn't have to move camera that much.
So I don't really see that as a valid reason. It can clearly be possible even for console.

Not really different from what Billy can do and you counter it exactly same…

Urgh, if they take this change on live servers, it will be terrible for the few Oni players remaining (me included). I can feel your pain. The 180 flick is what made him a terrifying Killer on many tiles and without it, he will just be a big clunkfest. He was in a good state for several years (not as good as on the PTB before his release though), why ruin him for the very few players that still hold on to this masterpiece of a killer?
-1 -
I agree. They shouldnt delete 180 because it has already become a deafult thing for him. Also if it was a bug, why they fixed it after 5 YEARS? Also 180 is fair for survivors and killer, because, as youve said before, its really hard to be master at flicking

It wasn't intentional and it was pretty stupid, it basically took away one of the killer's few counterplays. I think it was good that they took it away in my opinion.

Survivors when a killers skill expression is taken away
:D
Survivors when those killer players switch to nurse/blight
}:(
Let Oni keep his 180 damn
-4 -
Hey man. Been maining Pig and Sadako for literal years now. Not everyone takes the easiest way to win and thats good so.
Edit: been through the Pig nerfs btw…

I mean I main doctor so I'm there too. I'm just pointing out how survivors will be happy when a killer loses ways to express skill then complain about how all they face is nurse and blight
-6 -
If Oni’s 180 was an expression of skill, then crouching against blight, demo and billy was an expression of skill too. So you’re okay with undoing that change too?
2 -
The only people I see who are saying it's a positive change are killer players who play on console, because that "tech" isn't available unless you have mnk.
Are these survivors in the room with us right now? This just feels like unnecessary "us vs them".

Those survivors are mostly in the downvotes and reddit

If certain skill expression leads to problematic in-game situations, then the players executing it should be self-aware enough to understand that being changed.
Remember, that Blight got hug-tech removed?
Additionally, not everyone that loses certain skill expression immediately is like: "Ok, I cant do this one trick anymore, time to destroy everything with the strongest loadout availible in game." Thats one extreme mindset right there.

Yeah. I never knock anything that killer has, but this was just stupid. You're supposed to dead angle him and Blight, to where at best they have to guess which way or the other you're gonna go once they get past the object, and adjust themselves, or else they don't get to hit you. How they function now, you can't dead angle them. They just break into any angle you could possibly go to, like Nurse with +1 step. All because of a flick. That's just game breaking. It doesn't help that their animation of hitting you never lines up. They're always far away from you or facing the wrong direction, and on their screen, you're not even on their screen when they down you. I think that kind of proves why it shouldn't be in the game.

Hello, I am the main of this killer, I started to main him 4 years ago in the mobile version. I have now moved to the computer version and I am still maining him. I want you not to remove this bug (180 degrees), but to make it like a feature.
