Still no news about trickster revert: update

we were shown a preview design for the trickster, basically reverting the rework that a lot of trickster mains hated
https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/s/fQWm6o6v44
It's been 5 months since then with no news whatsoever
Like has it been scrapped? Has it been postponed for something else?
I feel like there should be answers as to why there's no news about the trickster reverts instead of being left out in the dark
Update:
We finally got answers regarding the trickster changes
Really curious what they have plans for him (especially skull merchant)
Hopefully these are good changes

The Devs look at stats and saw how many people killed themselves on first hook and thought why bother.

Hopefully is doesn’t go through. I play him a lot and he is definitely much better now. He does NOT need to go back to 110%

I still have hope, that they will revert him. He would be so much more enjoyable. Maybe a community manager sees your post and clarifies whether or not it got scrapped.

There was never a consensus among trickster mains. BHVR had a reddit post to gather feedback, and many people felt that Trickster's current movement speed makes Trickster way better to play as, and this includes some of the Trickster mains. And there wasn't a consensus regarding the other parts of the rework either.
This means there is zero reason for a full rework revert.

I think think that's one of the problems of the Trickster rework.
Some people like the new feel of Trickster but some people prefer the old feel of Trickster. Original Trickster was kind of clunky but the main appeal was throwing knives really fast like a machine gun, but the appeal of new Trickster that that while some aspects got nerfed or changed, his overall kit feels more evened out, which makes him appealing to some players.
I really dont think there is anything BHVR can do that would be seen as "the right choice" since the new Trickster has been around long enough for people to adjust and like them for what they are, but some people still want the old Trickster. It's a lose/lose situation since regardless of what they do, they wont be able to appeal to both sides.
For me, I personally like old Trickster more than new Trickster, but at the same time, I was never a huge fan of Trickster as a whole, but if I were to have either, Id prefer the old one more.

Both the 110 and 115 trickster crowd are very vocal and passionate about which way trickster should go

Trickster news:
A SHORT UPDATE ON THE TRICKSTER
After working through your feedback, we decided to move in a different direction from what we had outlined. Rather than simply revert past changes, we think there’s an opportunity to lean into his theming to offer gameplay changes that reward Trickster mains while also providing something exciting and new for folks who have been on the fence about giving him a try.
While we don’t have a timeline to share regarding a Trickster rework right now, we’ll be back when the time is right!

Am honestly one of those that want the old one back, the only change he needed and nothing else was to be 115 but bvhr for idk what reason touch everything. Revert him back and let him.stay 115, why should artist who's power is way stronger be 115?

I hope they bring the musician aspect to his power, specially about his addons, imagine his chase music change with his addons? He needs more music appeal, not just knifes.

Literally the only complain in his Design preview was, that people didn’t like him being 4.4 m/s.
They should have tried 4.5m/s as middle ground, add bouncing knives to his basekit and reduce the amount of knives required for main event since you needed 30, which is way too much.

Hmmmm... I'm more inclined for old Trickster, though the only issue he had really was that he had no reason to leave the hook...
He has slow map traversal at 4.4, and he was far better off getting close to popping his Main Event as he downed someone, then simply camp the hook, hit knives on the trade and Main Event one or both players down. I'd not make him 4.6m/s myself, but instead address this camping aspect of him.
Something like giving him an excitement mechanic when he downs or hooks a survivor. This could be a temporary haste boost while not in chase, based on his current Main Event charges, then have it so after so long not hitting knives on survivors, his Main Event slowly decreases in charges as Trickster gets bored.
This would encourage him to leave hook and go charge up/spend his ult while he has the charges on hand, solving his map traversal issues and giving him a pretty strong reason to leave hook for more victims.
Extra props if his TR or Lullaby gets more bombastic with more layers as he gets more and more charges.

I appreciate that today's message has resulted in some detailed feedback from y'all! Let me collect these and pass them along to the team.

It’s super exciting to hear that he isn’t getting a full rework revert. Thank you!

now I’m interested.
In the notes it states he’s getting a slight rework in another aspect?I assume he will keep his knifes cause that’s like his main trait. But I wonder what they will add onto him to make him more interesting

115 is horrible; if I can just use my bat, why bother with a build up power? I can play literally any other m1 killers
110 trickster forces the knives. Being 115 means he has to be weaker than 110 trickster too
I don't envy the position BHVR is in

I’m 100% with you. I love playing against nurse and blight for that reason. After the rework his m2 became a zoning tool to m1 someone rather than injuring and downing someone with it. It’s also so weak while his main event is too much available.

Are you going to come up with something completely new or are you going to bring back some parts while you introduce some new parts as well?

I'm very excited to see what the team has come up with for Trickster and Skull Merchant 😄

Currently playing against him as survivor it feels like dodging is completely inconsequential. I would prefer less knife spam and removing auto healing after X seconds.
Require a teammate to remove the knives. This creates a hybrid of freddy/Legion that gives him some passive slowdown and encourages grouping up where his main event can thrive. He can also afford to drop chase at strong loops without feeling a sunk cost of losing any knife hits.
Revert him to 110%. He's a free down at more than half the tiles on most maps. At least give him a disadvantage at tall loops like other ranged killers.
Would appreciate something to keep him from simply staring at the hook with his knives/main event ready. Granted this isn't only a trickster problem but saving against him while camping is usually suicide. If an effective limit around unhooks can be added, giving him more control around when to use main event would be nice.

While I hope trickster would've gotten a full on revert, i do hope whatever trickster gets will be really good

I like this idea

The biggest problem with this whole process, is separating the feedback into categories…
- What feedback actually involves people talking about what makes the killer fun to play AS?
- What feedback involves people wanting Trickster nerfed, so he is less frustrating to play AGAINST?
- What feedback doesn’t actually involve personal opinions, and is instead just referring to the opinions of someone else?
- What feedback is from people that are upset that a different killer got reworked, and is just hoping Trickster’s rework will be reverted, so there is a bigger chance that their favorite killer’s rework will be reverted?

And we all know which way the survivor crowd will vote so it will 100% go back to a 110% Trickster.

He needs to be 115% it is fine. A Trickster who is M1ing all the time will lose badly against even average survivors. The same reason why a 115% Huntress wouldn’t be overpowered at all. If she M1s to much she will 100% lose.

Whatever they end up doing I don't think he's going to end up in a comfortable spot on controller until they give us real settings to work with.

I'm fully expecting many people will vote for the weakest choices possible, because they just want him to be nerfed as much as possible. Good luck to BHVR, if they are actually going to attempt to separate the serious survey answers, from the trolling survey answers.
