Solo Q survivors, are you having fun?

That is so true, and that's why I'll never understand the complaints of "This game is so Survivor/Killer sided!" when in fact it's RNG sided.
On topic, I've pretty much lost most of the fun. I took a week off from playing DBD, and then came back, only to get tunneled out more than I ever had before. Like, what gives? What changed within the last week that made Killers even more desperate to tunnel?

Having fun is a very subjective term. This can vary greatly from match to match.
For me to have fun, I love getting a close and tense match where everything is down to the wire, getting good chases and such.
Unfun matches tend to be the one-sided ones, where one side completely dominates the other. Now, about what @HerInfernalMajesty was talking about when it comes to killer difficulty.
I think this comes down more to killer viablility at higher elo (MMR), since you tend to see much more of Billy, Blight and Nurse at the higher ratings. Granted, nowadays there is a greater amount of the killer roster who plays decent enough in high MMR. Not necessarily based on killer difficulty, since you often times run into the odd Trapper or Myers in this player bracket, who plays their killer extremely well, and leaves you with just a slim chance of escaping.Like the youtuber Choy was talking about in one of his videos, the MMR is practically divided into 4 different brackets (I highly recommend watching it to get a better understanding of the MMR rating system)
- 0-649 (Bronze-level): This is the beginner level, where most players who are starting out will find themselves at. At this level, you can pretty much face any killer, since many players try out different killers when they start out. The starter killers (trapper, wraith, billy, nurse and huntress) are the most common - Console players has Hag and Doctor in the place of Huntress and Nurse.
- 650-999 (Silver-level): Most players has a base MMR of 650 when starting out, so this bracket often has brand new players, and you may end up facing any killer.
- 1000-1399 (Gold-level): This is likely the bracket that holds most of the casual players, and you can face pretty much any killer here as well.
- 1400-2100 (Iridescent-level): The widest skill-span happens in this level. Most hardcore players find themselves at around 1800 rating and above, and players in this bracket will often be matched against players further down the rating, since the matchmaking prioritizes speed over quality. This is where you find most of the hardcore Billy, Blight and Nurse players, though other killers are often played as well.

thats the neat part…. you don't go to have fun in solo Q. hope it helps :)

I haven't ran a game of solo que in so long. The match making is outright disrespectful to anyone who has tried to get good at this game. Idk why I would que up with 4000 hours of practice to have just random teammates who don't even know the basics. It is just a waste of my time imo. I would rather just que up with blight if my friends aren't on and 4k5 every game because, well, 0 match making.

A lot of things on the killer side have been gutted is what happened, every single gen regression perks has been gutted to the point is not even worth using unless you are an A or S-tier killer. That's why Killer tunnel and slug right now.
-11 -
This tactic has always existed. It's a game design mistake. It's easy to fix. The slug, tunnel, and camp should be disadvantageous for the killer. It is necessary that for each survivor who leaves the game there is a bonus to actions for other survivors, for example, 25%. Then the killer will not try to knock out the survivor faster.
9 -
It already is disadvantageous. They have given survivors a lot of second chance perks in the form of hook based survivor perks. Choy, another DBD content on Youtube made a video specifically about this and why killers at the high level are straight up slugging because it's the only thing that hasn't been nerfed…yet. Tunneling as a whole makes you lose the entire game if you are just focusing 1 survivor all game especially if the got OTR and Decisive strike. The best thing to do if the killer is just proxycamping or waiting near the hook is too just leave the survivor since if the survivor is on a hook, there is no survivor to tunnel, right? It already takes 210 seconds for a survivor to die on hook and that's without Reassurance or Camaraderie. Solo queue, that's a different story however. adding a comeback mechanic would exclusively benefit the survivors, 2V8 is proof of this.

Is this a survival game or a sacrifice simulator? If it is a sacrifice simulator, then nothing needs to be changed. You can even remove the gate and the hatch.
Sarcasm.

I honestly only really play survivor solo q for tome challenges and doing it that way is really fun because I no longer care about escaping or dying, and my only goal is helping my fellow surviviors and doing my tome challenge.
-1 -
This games solo queue is a joke. THE WORST OF ANY GAME I have ever played. Solo queue survivors need a buff of 25% to gen speeds or they need to start implement matchmaking bans for players who refuse to touch gens when not being chased.
Meanwhile I play as killer and only face coordinated Navy Seals, this matchmaking is a total joke.
I have miserable matches as solo q survivor and rigged matches as killer , end result = no fun.
4 -
I barely play solo anymore, I used to all the time. The recent killer today has really made me realise just how awful it is.
That and the new surrender option I've already gotten several uses out of today.
It's kind of sad5 -
You know what I think happened, I think they made over powered killers to deal with the hackers at the expense of regular players playing survivor, for example when I play survivor I'm constantly getting destroyed by killers that are way faster than me, the only reason I can see this being a thing is to deal with speed hackers and hopefully make them quit the game, there is no way to play this game as it currently is with base speed killers with the speed hackers because they're constantly outrunning us, even when Legion in Feral Frenzy I'm having survivors run in straight lines from total south wall of the map to total north wall of the map where exit gate is and outrun me the entire way in both base speed and Feral Frenzy mode it's actually absurd how many hackers are on this game especially in the higher tiers (Tier 1, 2 and 3 of iridescent) So to counter that they put ridiculous killers with teleport through walls and infinite wallhacks to counter those hackers at the expense of regular players playing survivor knowing that you can still have a tiny bit of fun as a killer but now things have become worse as these hackers are teleporting and instant completing generators or at least this is what's been happening in my lobbies and I'm honestly just thinking of quitting now.

No. it hasn’t been fun for a while and I’ve never even taken the game very seriously. I’ve always gone into matches expecting not to make it out and just try to have fun until I get sacrificed, but these days it feels increasing difficult to get anything done - whether that’s through killers with too much in their kit, map changes or other survivors. My gamepass runs out in two days and I won’t be renewing it. I was already planning on taking a break from the game but the release of the new killer and new changes has just laid waste to any doubt I had about this.

Pretty good. Win most matches.

I have faced a lot of blights lately which is never gonna be easy unless they are new to them.
Mostly players lacking common game sense is the issue. Not following cues on the HUD, protecting other team mates and giver uppers etc….
Love going against a plague where everyone cleanses every time.
Get a good bunch of players sometimes and it's almost like being in a moderately good swf though.

Plague if using iri addons which the majority do these days that aura reads on vomit, it's really bad to not cleanse against her, especially if its an indoor map. Thats what majority build against now I've played against.
2 -
Keep distance and rotate. People cleansing always goes bad in my solo que. No gen progress just constant unhooks.

Right…

This entire statement is beyond wild. If all the gen regression perks were nerfed to the ground as so many of you band wagon killers claim, then why are they still the most used perks in the game? You all wanted to overuse them so they got nerfed, that's how it works. You all tunnel so anti-tunnel perks get buffed, toolboxes get buffed, then you all complain about that and start slugging because "survivors wont let us get our hooks" so now anti-slugging is getting nerfed. You all just don't learn.
Another killer main finding any excuse to try and justify tunneling and slugging when in reality its a skill issue. I bet you tunneled and slugged before the gen regression nerf.
4 -
Not really, I despise DbD. I play it because of FOMO, basically. Being playing for a long time, now I just play to get the rift stuff and quickly uninstall. It's very unfun, and Kaneki makes it 1000% worse. It might be the worst killer ever designed regading the Solo Queue community.
2 -
They were nerfed to the ground to the point they are not even worth using, that's why a lot of killers at high levels are straight up slugging right now. If you are playing a a S-tier killer or are at low MMR then sure you can use gen regression perks or go for 12 the hook logic because you are going against a bunch of ######### players. Me personally, i stopped using perks 2 months ago and now i only play every single killer perkless because what's the point in using a perk or an add-on if it's just going to nerfed or changed later down the line if it has a high usage and a high killrate? Knockout is a perfect example of this, a perk that hides auras for survivors and for a whooping overpowered 15 seconds slowed down survivor recovery speed but now where at a point where that is even overpowered. Something that only gets 15 seconds of use is overpowered and now Knockout is a dead perk and nobody uses it except at low MMR.
-1 -
Yea bro, everyone used Knockout for the 15 seconds recovery speed debuff. Wasn't at all to hide solo queue teammate auras from each other forcing everyone to run around like a moronic game of marco polo hoping to trip over whoever is bleeding out.
2 -
I deleted the game. I feel bad about wasting money on it. Thanks bhvr for disappointing me. What's the point of playing a game where the killer always wins? None for me. bye everyone.
3 -
Killer is always soloQ unless 2v8, Survivor SoloQ is not much better.
0 -
We now have a mode where exactly that has happened, and Killers are not playing most of the roster because it's too hard to keep up with pressuring gens when you lack mobility. What do you expect the Killer to do in this case? There's only so much improving you can do…
Slugging, tunnelling, genrushing etc. ARE intended part of playing the game. It's EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS of those that become a problem. Please don't cherrypick.
-1 -
Nope. Not even a little.

When mmr works (close matches) yes, or when I have fun my own way after a bad streak.
Otherwise not really, but I don't force myself to play if I don't want to. There are other games and stuff to do.

I can only speak for myself and don't want to generalize, but I have fun in solo mode. It's a bigger challenge, and since I don't play to win or lose, but to have fun with the game, I'm happy with it. I haven't been playing for too long, but every game should be fun. The rest is secondary for me 🙂
