Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Deep Rift Exclusivity

Hi BHVR Team,

I’m writing to propose a system to reintroduce Deep Rift cosmetics after an 18-month exclusivity period. Many players missed these variants and are willing to pay a higher price in order to access them, while still respecting the effort of those who earned them originally.

Proposed Model:

- Release Deep Rift cosmetics 18 months after their Rift ends.

- Price them at ~2000 Auric Cells so they remain more expensive than all other cosmetics due to their demand.

Benefits:

- Revenue: Monetize low-effort recolors for players who joined post-Rift.

- Fairness: Reward original Rift grinders for paying a lower price and owning them during exclusivity periods.

This model could be trialed with one cosmetic (e.g. the Deep Rift variant of Death's Cloak) to gauge player interest. Would the team consider this?

Thanks for your time!

Slight agree, with a recommendation: The price should not increase. Keep it fixed at slightly more expensive than skins of that rarity that are not Deep Rift. The only excluded skins from this should be the two Visceral Castlevania skins (Deep Rift Soma, Deep Rift True Form) which pricing would likely be determined by Konami.

Yea I see 50$ being too much, just updated it. Btw if u like the suggestion then please tell others (or atleast upvote it) but yea, it now says ~2000 Auric Cells (without the price going up part).

We've confirmed in the past that these outfits will remain out of the in-game store - these recolours will ONLY be obtainable from the Deep Rift, unlike other rift cosmetics will turn up in the store at some point.

Whilst I appreciate your desire to have these items purchasable, given our previous confirmation of the above, I do not believe that will change.

Slightly Off-topic but also has to do with exclusivity like the rift recolors: May I ask if the same goes for all Amazon prime rewards? Frosty Blight was an amazon prime exclusive one but now we can purchase it in the store, iirc. However, there are still many amazon prime rewards missing and we have no info on them.

Your right, that's too cheap, we instead need to fork over our third son and a kidney to afford a single cosmetic? Or am I being too generous here?

In all seriousness 50 USD for a single skin for a single character is too much, 20 USD was already pushing it to begin with. At the same time, I have zero faith in this community when it comes to not spending money on stuff, we have way more control in terms of buying power than people think but it kind of gets ruined if people just mindless dump their money into the first thing they see.

I see why you would make such a choice; so that players actually have a reason to spend their money due to a fomo. However, and I'm not the only one who thinks this, this element is extremely exclusive for new players who have just started or started after a rift that they really like, possibly even just a period of inactivity that may not even be the player's fault and possibly due to external reasons. Being forced to grind or pay in a pretty limited amount of time seems unfair and not very thought-out to me. I and others who I have directly asked think you whould revise this and possibly adjust the system.

I couldn't be bothered about owning a Deep Rift variant as is, so dropping a crap ton of Auric Cells (enough to buy 4 characters) would be a no from me.
