AFK Crow and "go next" doesn't work. And people leaving others on hook as "punishment"
This is the second time this story has happened to me.The randoms are letting themselves die anyway, bringing a lucky offering (or using slippery meat) and killing themselves on the hook. What happened? I'll narrate one of the games.
Situation: We were 3 left with 2 gens. The map: Forgotten Ruins.
I finished a gen (1 gen left to repair). There's a survivor hanging below, but he's already giving up the game, so he uses his attempts in the first phase (he put a lucky offering and starts using his attempts to reach the second phase, and he succeeds). I see through Empathy that my other teammate is going to rescue him, so I proceed to look for another gen, but surprise, my teammate is right in front of the killer, so I CANT touch another gen. I have to go down to my teammate on the hook, but I have to go around because the chase is on the tower stairs, so I have to use the portal behind the tower to go down because there's no other way. I go down as fast as I can, because it obviously takes a long time, and the teammate still lets themselves die (the teammate failed all the skill checks in the second phase). What happened then? Not only did the teammate let themselves die, but I ALSO got a crow on my head because the game thinks I haven't done anything in 10 seconds of gameplay. I mean, running around the map, evading chase at the only entrance to the place, going through a portal to reach a teammate who let themselves die, and then a crow pops up because they think I just stood there doing nothing in 10 seconds... So... either devs extend the time it takes for the AFK Crow to appear or they add to the game that it NOTICES when a player is doing more actions (including running, which leaves scratch marks; running isn't free).
Long story short, something similar happened in the basement of Gideon Meat Plant.
I don't think it's fair that a player trying to get through the game should be punished, while the player who let himself die should be fine anyway (and even if they if they punish them, it doesn't help me at all, because I'll find more teammates like this, and that doesn't make the games any more enjoyable).
And for the record, I've said it before, those kinds of people don't care about losing BPs or ranks, they don't care about that, that's not a punishment for them.
*As a note, I did report this teammate, so I hope to see some feedback soon. But like I said, this isn't going to do any good.
Regarding the latest developments in the title, I'll simply say that I've already seen people leaving others on the hook for failing skill checks or simply not doing something they consider "appropriate" for the game. They do this because they know those on the hook can't even try to free themselves. In fact, when I took someone off the hook who the others didn't want to be taken off, it was my turn to stay on the hook because I "dared" to take down an "unwelcome" companion that previously failed a gen skill check.
I suppose this is also reportable...

Honestly, both systems need to be killswitched immediately. The amount of flaws that both systems have is kind of out outrageous. Have these even been tested on the PTR at all?
At this point there have been so many reports of players getting a warning or even an actual penalty for suspicious behaviour because they got tunneled out, new players buying the game just to refund it an hour later because the same thing happened to them and now some killer players doing it on purpose just to spite survivor players. Not to start with all the Orela players that are being tunneled out on purpose by some fragile manchilds just because of her identity. (Correct me if I am wrong here but isn't this currently literally abusing an exploit?)
And not to start with the AFK crow bs. I literally got them because I had to run over half the map for an unhook. I've read from other players that they got them hiding close to a gen they have been working on before because the killer came to kick it, while they got slugged and even in chase.
But literally the worst offender currently is getting AFK crows when the exit gates are powered and the killer is running No Way Out and Remember Me. Like, what are you supposed to do? Pull another generator out of your behind to work on it? There is literally no way to counteract this. You might as well just build up a glowing billboard with I AM HERE written on it and place it above every remaining survivor in the game…
Talk about a quality of life update without the quality.

Apart from getting DC penalties from being tunneled, those changes are fine. They needed to be done and will result in healthier game for both sides.

I think they should be killswitched as well I’m getting teammates working with the killers farming me and t bagging me when they haven’t done anything all match, I get farmed downed hooked 3 times the killer gets so many points and the survivor do too plus a free escape and I can’t even attempt to stop it or kill myself on second. Reporting them has done nothing! I’ve played for 8 years and seriously thinking about deleting dbd for good! They are removing everything that has kept me playing. The afk crow thing sucks too I can’t even go for an unhook or proxy for a fl save on a dead hook tunneled survivor without getting crows. This is ridiculous bhvr you’re forcing people to play a game they bought and against any odds including hackers. These changes are a killer buff and I play both sides.

Gonna run through and try to hit every point on this comment here.
To start, no, the go next prevention was not properly tested on the PTB. This is due to the PTB not having disconnect penalties, so they could not test how the actual detection system worked. Genuinely a fault of the PTB system, over a developer oversight. With regards to people tunnelling out over the system (or the Orela tunnelling concern) - if they say that is why the tunnel happened, you can report them! It's encouraged, even.
I'm sure you've seen the comment from ThatRyanB about how BHVR is looking for video evidence of the crow issue at play, so I won't run over with a "the devs know dont worry lolge" comment. The system, much like the go next prevention system, may be bugged in this early state, but it's important to note that it does take continued interaction with objectives (gens, healing survivors, unhooking, totems/chests/killer items) in order to lose the built up AFK points, so the survivors who are getting crows may have been failing to interact with items prior to the examples you gave.
With the exit gate example, please note that the crows don't make the loud noise notification until ten seconds after the third crow appears. That hasn't changed, so if a killer beelines to you after you trigger No Way Out, it is likely due to the loud noise notification that perk creates, and not due to you gaining a single AFK crow. You can also go to the other gate instead of waiting at the gate you triggered the loud noise notification at.
edit: downvoting does not prove anything in here incorrect

Solution to self killing might be just remove luck and self unhooking perks.
Solution to afk crows? IDK, havent gotten one yet.

Yes it is so healthy for me to be fair. I am having a very good laugh at this ######### show currently they did a PRETTY GOOD JOB SO FAR. The only reason I am here is to read the shitshow behaviour makes every update. That is definitely increasing my lifespan with a good laugh for a few minutes.

Also the game punishes you for other bad players getting tunneled out is easy when the other survivors unhook you in unhealthy situations and you have no real way to deal with it and NO I AM NOT RUNNING DS ALL THE TIME!!

Sadly as often they completely overthought their systems instead of just using simple changes that would be enough.
Recent changes are pretty bad in my opinion. They take out more and more of what the game made good in the first place.
I hope they rethink some of the things.
Players should never be punished for their gameplay style or startegy! (…as always - the abusers make it bad for everyone)

Deaths in game should be removed. Instead trials should have time limit. So either all survs wins or none of them.
Hooks should keep survs temporarily, and then spawn them somewhere far from killer. Others can still unhook them faster.
Mories should make survs being "ghosts" that can't do conspicuous actions, are invisible and have no collision for time longer than being hooked. Then become corporal again.

They can let themselves die if they do it too quickly they would get penalty. They will fine tune it to detect those cases too but giving up on first hook is basically removed and even second hook give ups are rare at least for me. Also those who left people on hooks will get bored of playing this as they are acting like kids anyway.

If you feel offended then don't play. lol, its that simple.

What part of DEAD by daylight didn't you get?

I agree on the fisrt statement, AFK crows and go next preventions need a lot more work, you must know that in certain situation, it is best to leave someone on the hook.
for example, if they are being actively tunneled, the safest place they could be is on the hook. Why save them early when you could wait 30 secs and have that time extra to do gens?

Maybe they should encourage the new creator program to test builds more with incentives, that way people viewing can point out bugs too and report with the creator.

and then a crow pops up because they think I just stood there doing nothing in 10 seconds.
Did you take any footage of this? I'd love to see the two minutes before the first crow appeared.
I have never encountered this problem myself.0 -
What part of dead BY DAYLIGHT didn't you get?
Besides. In my suggestion there is death, but at the end, with all survs at once. When timer goes down. Potentially... BY DAYLIGHT

Just got 2 crows from running back to back Knight guards. Pretty good job! Another "suspicious behavior" identified by another flawless new gameplay system.

Well in your first example, if you already knew your teammate was trying to give up, and you know how long it takes to go get there, there was pretty much no point going all the way down trying to get the save. You might as well have just hopped on the other generator immediately and you could have even completed it if the other guy had a good chase.
But also something else to point out. A single crow flapping around your head isn't the end of the world. It's merely a warning.

Yeah that is what I am doing sir thank you very much as you can see from my replies and my answers I am indeed not playing but rather watching the shitshow they make every update
