How we fix myers? Here's my idea
Here's my rework concept for myers, fell free to talk about it and share your own ideas (the following ideas are meant to make myers more powerfull as well as to make use of the obsession mechanic that should be part of his kit, might be overtuned but these are meant to be just ideas and not a "it has to be exactly like this" type of deal).
Myers breathing and walking sounds are muffled while in evil within 1
Survivors available stalk points slowly recharge
Grants the ability to stalk during evil within 3
While stalking, reveals the aura of the obsession within 8 meters, increased to 10 meters in evil within 3
Increased passive stalking movement speed by 20% and active stalking by 35% while in evil within 3
Evil within 2 terror radius is now 24 meters
Evil within 3 terror radius is now 40 meters
Vault speed is now increased by 12% in evil within 2, increased to 15% while chasing the obsession
Pallet breaking speed is now increased by 8% in evil within 2, increased to 12% if chasing the obsession
Lunge is increased by 15% while chasing the obsession in evil within 2
Breaking a chase with the obsession while in evil within 2 reveals their aura for 1 second, increased to 4 seconds in evil within 3
Vault speed is now increased by 15% while in evil within 3, increased to 18% while chasing the obsession
Pallet breaking speed is now increased by 10% in evil within 3, increased to 15% while chasing the obsession
Now increases lunge by 10% in evil within 3, increased to 30% while chasing the obsession
Gain a 5% haste status effect while chasing the obsession in evil within 3
Evil within 3 now only exposes the obsession
Entering evil within 3 makes the obsession scream and reveal their location
Dowing the obsession during evil within 3 changes the obsession
Hooking the obsession changes the obsession and increases evil within progress by 10%
Now evil within requires the whole power gauge to be filled and then the player must press a prompt button to tier up evil within
Now grants myers the ability to kill the obsession if they're healthy, injured or dying provided they're on their last hook stage and myers is in evil within 3, doing so changes the obsession making them scream and reveal their location, and refils 35% of Evil within 3
Grants myers the ability to while stalking 1 survivor in evil within 3, if that survivor has been stalked for atleast 6 seconds during evil within 3, press the ability button to consume 25% of evil within 3 and make that survivor the obsession

Let's say this is what they do to Myers, making it so his Terror Radius is 24 meters in EW2 and only one Survivor is exposed in EW3 (granted you cannot down them for a long period of it, for whatever reason? God pallets, strong tiles, body blocks etc) that will make him really weak. He is B Tier atm, being able to insta-down everyone in both EW1&3 (gen grabs in EW1). I like the Obsession mechanic boosting his power with Vault speed and chase speed outside of EW3, but what if instead of base kit changes involving this stuff, if it were add-ons you changed instead to make this work?
The things I personally would change about Myers base kit are:
- Gain the ability to return to EW1 while in EW2, when out of sight. 50% of all Stalk drained from Survivor(s) is refilled to the Survivor(s). (The audio cue from 1978, when he attacks Laurie and she stabs him with the knitting needle triggers map wide)
- Stalking movement speed is increased to 3.8m/s when not gaining progress to Evil Within.
- Breakable Walls break speed is increased by 100% in EW3. (Myers simply steps through it to break it.) (The jarring audio from Halloween 2 plays for Myers and all Survivors within the Terror Radius when it breaks.)
- The Mori animation when killing a Survivor using Tombstone add-ons is different to the Mori when an offering is used or when only one Survivor is left in the trial. (Personally I would keep the current one for the Tombstone kill, and make a new animation for the kill with an offering/final Survivor.)

I really like the "tier down" idea, it could make evil within 1 more than just a weak start and potentially make it into a resource, the same could be said about evil within 2 if they make a new evil within 2 exclusive ability.
I also like the insta break on breakable walls (i think that's what people wanted for jason), but its very map dependant, even if its fitting for him, not against it tho.
And about your statement of myers being weak if only the obsession became exposed during evil within 3, thats why i tought about the changing obsession mechanic every time they're downed during evil within 3 or hooked at any time, or by stalking them for long enough during evil within 3 making so you could still target anyone you want (with a small inconvenience if you have to make them the new obsession), i think he would be overall stronger with the multiple chase buffs and the base kit vanity mirror and predator (wraith's perk) against the obsession especifically.
And about the tombstone addons, i think they should be removed and made base kit instead (in a balanced state of course, i think requiring evil within 3 and the final hook stage is good enough), and a new animation for it would be amazing, just like pyramid head has a unique one for final judgement.

What would the general numbers be for time taken to switch Obsession? Being able to visualize it would help sell me on the idea 😇
I think if we're giving base kit tracking, would Killer Instinct fit it more than auras? For example, while in EW3, if the Obsession performs repair or healing actions, their location is revealed to you via Killer Instinct. The effect lingers for 2 seconds once the action is completed or interrupted. Would that fit more into a base kit mechanic? And then add-ons would reveal the Obsession's aura when stalking or outside the Terror Radius. Something like that.
So, with the Tombstone add-ons, it'd be a bit like Pyramid Head's Final Judgement? Would you need to down them first or kill them from injured/healthy, just how the add-ons work now; or both?
Would the Haste effect be necessary if the lunge is increased? Since, separately, they'd give the same result.
I was also thinking, if we were to use your ideas as a direction for the add-ons pass/rework. They'd be good concepts for that. I think making a lot/few of his add-ons Obsession related would be a good direction for it.

Maybe 5 or 6 seconds of stalk would be okay to be able to switch obsessions (maybe make it once per evil within 3?)
And yeah i totaly forgot about killer instinct, it would follow the rules of dbd better since pretty much every killer that has a tracking ability it is either via screams or killer instinct, and not auras, that makes sense, it would also make so lethal pursuer dont become busted on him lol
I think with the tombstone mori you could kill them regardless of what health states they're in, not being able to kill downed survivors like current tombstone would make no sense since with my idea, it would require them to be on their last hook so you could just hook them anyway
About the haste bonus, it might be a bit overtuned together with the lunge bonus, maybe keep the lunge because its alredy part of his kit? Or maybe remove the lunge and give him haste instead to reduce his sinergy with coup the grace if it feels necessary?
But anyways, these ideas of mine are obviously biased because i wanted to come up with something that makes use of the obsession mechanic since it released with the halloween dlc, and for some reason myers doesnt benefits from it, but i also like your idea about making every Evil within tiers unique with different effects, and being able to switch between them, thats also cool, especially because current evil within 1 serves almost 0 purpose except giving you a slow start
Unfortunatelly i cant come up with something more interesting as a bonus or incentive to chasing the obsession except, "here is some chase buffs, oh and btw, that guy is the only one exposed lol, gotta down him before exposing someone else"
