Chapter Concept- The Final Broadcast- Post Apocalypse Chapter
“Your humanity was never real. Just a ritual to pass the time until extinction.”
When the last city fell, her voice was the only signal that remained, perpetually transmitted through cracked speakers and half-buried antennae. Some called her a savior. Some called her a liar. But all who listened came to understand that hope was the cruelest deception of all.
She was not born to be a ruler. Once, she wandered among the starving as an orphan in the aftermath of the Great Catastrophe. She learned that hope could be bartered like food or medicine, and that the desperate would cling to any promise, no matter how hollow. In time, she stopped offering comfort and began offering clarity. Commanding leagues of the destitute, she erected transmission towers to broadcast her message of annihilation across the ruins.
As her signals spread, enclaves began to empty, their people drawn to the glow of her makeshift stadiums. In the heaps of trash and fire, she ruled like a dictator of nothing, presiding over throngs of hollow-eyed believers who surrendered their last convictions for the promise of absolution through oblivion. Those who dared to proclaim love or solidarity were executed by her brainwashed acolytes in orchestrated laser displays, while crowds of gaunt followers howled and cheered at the spectacle. Cities burned while her followers tore down every symbol of hope, replacing it with her sigil—a crowned torch.
When the fires consumed the garbage-laden horizon and the insolent attempted to reaffirm their "purpose", she climbed the tallest transmission station she could find. And in her last transmission, she declared:
“You are hollow. Your only hope lies in extinction.”
Aside from the addicted and hungry denizens staggering across the city… Something else in the dark listened, and it did not forget.
The Hierophant is a Killer who harnesses corrupted broadcasts and searing laser fields to cut off attempts at fleeing, unravel her victims’ senses, and drive them to kneel in willing submission. Each time they reach for the illusion of safety, her influence grows stronger, until even the sound of her footsteps is muffled by her propaganda. Her Trials become a contest of submission: how long can you resist before you bend?
New Killer – The Hierophant
The Hierophant preached annihilation, declaring that all hope was a disease. When the world had ended, her voice was the only thing the survivors heard.
Height:TallMovement Speed:4.6 m/sTerror Radius:32 metersWeapon:The Laser BatonPower:Doctrine of Ruin
Appearance:
A towering woman draped in a high-gloss black military garment with exaggerated, angular shoulders and a plunging mesh neckline. The Hierophant wears a leather garrison cap perched on her head, mirrored lenses reflect the toxic green light emitting from her laser-heated baton, obscuring her cold gaze.
KILLER POWER: DOCTRINE OF RUIN
The Hierophant uses her corrupted broadcasts and searing laser fields to control the map and suffocate all resistance.
SPECIAL ABILITY: Signal Lattice
The Hierophant projects a glowing, sickly green laser lattice around the circumference of a selected tile (a 16-meter square). This lattice can only be activated in chase and, once activated, makes fleeing the area dangerous. If detected by the lattice successfully without evading the Hierophant within the Signal Lattice for 20 seconds, survivors incur the following penalties:
- Their aura is revealed for 2 seconds
- They gain a stack of Indoctrination
While chasing within the Hierophants' commanded zone, she rewards survivor loyalty with the following perks:
- Silent footsteps
- The ability to install a laser pallet after evading a hit for 10 seconds within the Signal Lattice
- If dropped, this pallet instantly shatters. If the drop does not result in a stun, the survivor becomes deep wounded
MAP FEATURE: BROADCAST STATIONS
At the start of the Trial, 5 Broadcast Stations spawn randomly across the map. Broadcast Stations can be interacted with by Survivors in two ways:
Disruption Ampule:
Survivors may extract a Disruption Ampule from a Broadcast Station. When shattered, the Ampule disables the Signal Lattice for a limited time. Each use applies 1 stack of Indoctrination, distorting the Survivor’s hearing and reducing their awareness. Indoctrination stacks up to 3 times:- Stack 1: Occasional Audio Hallucinations of broadcasts
- Stack 2: Audio Hallucinations remain, aura is revealed for 2 seconds when within 16 ms of a Broadcast Station
- Stack 3: Survivors hear only her voice and static, making her approach nearly undetectable.
Proclaim Loyalty:
Survivors may perform a Proclamation to reduce their Indoctrination stacks. When this action is completed:- All other Survivors scream and reveal their location to The Hierophant.

SPECIAL MORI: PROCLAMATION OF RUIN
The Hierophant forces a Survivor to kneel before her in silent surrender. As they lift their hands to hers in a final act of submission, she seizes them and whispers her verdict before a blinding surge of green laser splits them apart.
New Survivor – Echo
Echo was the last voice of defiance in a world that had given up on itself. Born an orphan, as nearly every child was by then, Echo found glimpses of love and belonging in the salvaged audio files that survived the old world. Frontwoman of a secret band composed of rag-tag survivors turned musicians, she turned broken radios and scavenged guitars into weapons against despair. Where others clung to dying words and selfish survival, Echo broadcasted anthems that reminded the lost they still had something worth screaming for. When the Hierophant’s sermons drowned every frequency in hollow promises, Echo stood her ground in a final citadel, transmitting her last song as the Hierophant's followers laid siege. In the end, it wasn’t hope Echo offered—it was proof that even in the face of annihilation, the human spirit could still scream back.
