Easy fog vial fixes to not be so unfun for killers

FYI lower opacity = can be seen through easier

  • Lower opacity to 25% (rn its 40%, was 33% on PTB, PTB iri add on gave +20%, idk what it does now)
  • However, between 16m to 32m, the opacity gradually increases to 50%
  • Revert sound muffling so the killer can actually hear
  • Make cloud effects linger on survivors for 3s
  • Rework iri add on

Retains utility being essentially a smoke wall at range while still being somewhat decent and much less annoying in chase. Win Win.

Also give spirit something to deal with them. Eg fog doesnt work in phase.

    Lol. So… shift W, then drop Fog Vial for instant chase win. This doesn't solve any of the problems that people have with it. In fact, you made it even more OP. There is no way to make these anything but absolutely obnoxious and unfun. Just delete them from the game. Nobody wanted this.

    Well, you are crying about everything, everywhere. "I will be most unfun Kaneki to play against, because I can't play Spirit". Can you imagine, that the game should be fun for both sides and not just for you? Everytime something new comes everyone is complaining so the game remains stale. I don't like vials as survivors because they are pretty garbage, I don't mind them as killer because I can see 12m through them. The vials with iri add ons were strong and could be base with 1-2 charges. But they wanted to keep the rechargable aspect for price of massive nerf to every aspect instead of 7 % opacity which makes nothing. Imagine that me as og killer main played during og mist (the purple offerings that do nothing now) and the effect of the item is 2 stacks of that offering. If you have problems seeing survivor within the cloud then improve. There is no reason why every chase should result in fast down, especially when current hold hostage meta is in the game. I played mix of killers yesterday (Houndmaster, Pig, Springtrap, Onryo…) and I was laughing "that did nothing for you". Tbh, I'd say that it might even be the worst item currently. Maybe after maps. If you lose survivors because of fog vials, then it's your fault, not the the item's fault.

    The vials with iri addons weren't really nerfed. They went from 53% opacity to 50%.

    Also, you must be playing against very, very bad survivors. Yes, if the survivor is right in front of you when they use the vial, they're pretty much useless. However, if they pre-run, then drop the vial, you have to guess. Did they stay in the fog? Did they keep shift+w? Which way did they go? Do you search the fog for 12 seconds (30% gen progress by the other survivors) or do you just kick the gen and go? If you do, you're essentially giving up the gen, because in less than a minute, you'll have to repeat this exercise.

    The fog vials buff the most obnoxious survivor playstyle, which is pre-run + shift w. That playstyle also happens to be one of the most powerful because it wastes a lot of time. And time is something killers have in very short supply.
