Why does everyone think party = quality? Just because four people are playing together doesn't mean they'll play well. I play in 4-mans and we're trash. We're also usually not on comms, and we never play strategically. If this happened we'd just be standing there pointing at stuff or hitting each others butts. Then we'd die.

Well swf still inherently has a massive advantage over people that can't communicate. You get so many perks just base kit in a swf with comms.

Like what? I hear this parroted a lot but what does swf give you that the UI HUD doesn't already? Maybe if the killer is tunneling or camping. Or if they are slugging but two of those can just been seen in the HUD. So it kinda just stops camping

I'd rather see a basekit Corrupt that acts like normal Corrupt (blocks the farthest three gens) but ends as soon as the killer starts a chase. I think that would benefit setup/slow start killers while not being a huge buff to the high mobility/high tier killers.

Literally the only relevant thing anyone ever does when I'm on comms is be the first to announce who the killer is.

Nope. Not every swf is seal team 6, nor is every swf on comms. There's also a thing called negativity bias. You'll remember the strong swfs you faced and therefore view every swf like that, but remain ignorant to the fact that you've probably steamrolled countless swfs in the past without second thought.

Nope. Its old info iirc but devs stated multiple times theyre not gonna balance "solo" and "swf" differently.
Its just "survivor"
Its also hypocritic that the community is using "solo" for "bad players" and "killer" for "#1 nurse player when he"s sweating for a record streak"

I really wish the scoreboard would show you who was in a party so everyone can have a nice surprise. "These people were all solos and worked that well together?" vs "These 4 dingdongs were in a party??"

Where people are which basically bond, somewhat object by calling out where the killer is at all times on a good majority of maps, half of windows of opportunity by saying which pallets are down, up or broken, which generators are actually high in progress so you aren't stuck guessing which one, etc. I would post the video of all the thing comms give basekit but I am having trouble finding it.
But basically a LOT of information perks just come with a group on comms.1 -
how would the game even know you are on comms with someone? This might work for say, two people on the same platform (but would they have permission or access to data to confirm such?)
I play with friends on voice chat sometimes but I use discord on my phone (I play handheld on a steamdeck so it’s super faffy trying to set up through the deck and much easier on my mobile app). I can’t imagine a world where BHVR or the game can somehow detect I’m in a game - not without some CIA level of tracking technology.2 -
okay I can’t edit but have realised the game can at least tell who is on your friends list so I suppose they can know you’re in a SWF!
I do think I agree with @cogsturning though as I am the definition of a dingdong lol. Furthermore, I can pretty much envisage banning or punishing a SWF that harshly (in the scenario described) may lead to a mass exodus.

Sweaty people think everyone is sweaty. I've never in my life been like "status update: Gen #4 at coordinates 32N 40W is 67.9% done, pallets 2, 3 and 7 are down, pallets 1 and 4 are broken, gonna go intercept chase." It's more like "What flavor of potato chips do you guys like?" while I accidentally run into my third wall that match or play the lute for the killer and hope for the best. If I'm in the party, it's 100% dingdong time.

There's absolutely no way for DBD to know who's on comms or not, especially on the consoles where it's built-in and separate from whatever game(s) being played. So this suggestion would just be a blanket anyone teamed up gets hit with the CI effect.
