No more 2v8… time to uninstall again (I have a suggestion)
I’ll get straight to the point:
This game desperately needs an alternative mode to the standard 1v4. There are too many killers, too many survivors, and—above all—WAY TOO MANY PERKS.
Every update adds more, and at this point it’s impossible to keep track of them all. Even the perks we already know are constantly being reworked, buffed, or nerfed.
2v8 wasn’t just fun because it was “new.” What truly made it special was the CLASS SYSTEM. Clear, limited roles gave both killers and survivors a fresh way to play—without drowning in an endless sea of perks. For the first time, the gameplay felt straightforward, balanced, and creative. That simplicity was the real innovation, and it showed that sometimes LESS REALLY IS MORE.
I know I’m not alone. A lot of players I know uninstall the game whenever 2v8 disappears. Many of us already have thousands of hours played, and the base game just doesn’t feel engaging anymore. We’d happily keep playing regularly, but instead we’re left waiting until the mode comes back. I’ve even stopped buying cosmetics or new content—why spend money on a game I can’t enjoy whenever I want?
In short: if 2v8 isn’t coming back permanently, please consider an alternative game mode with classes. What do you think?

Yeah a lot of my friends only come to play for 2v8, it's a really nice casual experience for everyone to enjoy the game, I feel like a simpler mode for people to enjoy and learn could be helpful for 1v4 for sure.

Agreed! i have so many of my friends that play 2v8 and sometimes we have the full lobby with 8 survivors of friends it also limits which friends we can play with in 1v4 vs 2v8 where mostly all of your friends can play with you at once - i always dread coming back to 1v4

If 2v8 becomes permanent I would never play 1v4 again.

Would be kinda interesting as an idea of ranked and casual modes, where ranked is just normal 1v4 and casual si highly limited format, where basically most things are predefined → easier to understand. You basically get to choose only killer, survivor, item. You could have something similar to class system too, so it's little bit more interesting for sure.
Would be nice also, if you are trying to bring someone new into DBD to just play with them there to learn core gameplay.0 -
I get bored of 2v8 very quickly. Even with the boosted bp, I hadn't touched it for over 2 weeks. Killer is quite fun but playing 2 or 3 survivor games to get a killer game just put me off. No amount of bloodpoints would make me want to play survivor any length of time. A day or two was enough for me.
Good that people enjoy it but it just isn't for me. They desperately need to find a way to bring down killer queues in both 2v8 and 1v4 when the mode is active.

I really like the class system, but what I also appreciate about 2v8 is how alive the maps feel. You’re always seeing teammates running around or interacting with stuff, and having two killers makes it extra exciting. You can never get too comfortable since you might get surprise attacked. Not just by stealth killers, but even regular ones running the shadow class.

For me, 2v8 was fun. I don’t mind queuing up as survivor for a couple matches just to get a killer game. At least your spot is reserved, which was honestly one of the best changes they made. They should really add that queue-time icon into 1v4 too. The only reason I started to dislike 2v8 was because like 8 out of 10 matches ended up being Legion/Wesker combo, and that gets frustratingly boring after a few times. Honestly, they should give people who only pick Wesker or Legion in 2v8 a wait timer so you can’t keep spamming the same killers over and over. xD

THIS. A random wesker popping out of nowhere slamming me into the wall xD Man I love 2v8 so much hahaha

Im not surprised its more fun and more chaotic but in a good way only problem I had with 2v8 is herbs werent there since resident evil release to 2v8 and some killers are rare to see because they are weaker then others and not worth to play after 30 minutes of que times only time I saw them it was either someone who was trying them out because they are free in 2v8 like nemesis or their main but thats very uncomon, hope they make nemi, ghostface, slinger and trapper better.

i only play survivor during 2v8 and just enough for rewards in other events. 2v8 is so much better and more casual. 1v4 is just sweaty comp kids seeking validation and occasionally you get a good match where noone is tunneled out

I'd be curious to see a game mode where you have no perks, no items and no special abilities just straight chase.

1v4 is more fun and interesting to me. 2v8 is mainly just a casual game mode where most ppl just screw around in. Although what they should do is a 1v4 alternate for casuals that just want to play without all the perks and just have classes. 2v8 just upsets the balance because it draws more survivors away, mainly because of the bp bonus.

I truly wish it was a permanent game mode! 2v8 is a lot more fun than 1v4 (in my opinion)

I mean if we get rid of pain points and frustrating things on the survivor side - I am fine with this.
I hate being sandwiched by the killers. It takes away the feeling of making impact in the match.

These are the two issues with it. The queue would fall apart and rely too heavily on play while you wait. 1v4 wouldn't die per se, but it would be destabilized as well.
