Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

DBD is balanced the way it is for a good reason

I see a lot of people here who have a fundamental misunderstanding of how the game is balanced, a lot of people here seem to think that the game is tilted one way or the other, this is likely because they A: Solo queue exclusively or B: Only play weaker killers. Now in case A, these people call the game killer sided. In case B, these people call the game survivor sided.

The truth is that if a killer is easier to understand and pick up, they will be stronger to new players due to the sheer amount of tech and knowledge that is required to learn DBD. If a new player picks up Trapper, they don't have to think as much as if they had to play Nurse. Now if this new player had a Trapper that was anywhere near as strong as a fully mastered Nurse, no new survivor would want to suffer through that, thus Trapper needs to be weak for the game to be fair to the most amount of players possible.

Behavior has gone to lengths to mend this rift however, Nurse has received numerous nerfs despite her abysmal kill rate. Trapper has received a lot of buffs as well. But at the end of the day they can't ever go too hard because the game needs to grow, this is why they balance in the manner they do.

Annnnnd the point? And your post is very lacking in exact detail just generalization that could have been sumed up in a few lines.. like obviously a S tier killer will out preform trapper. But buffing trapper would require a rework similar to what we are seeing with myers Behavior realizes that a lot of these older killers are outclassed by newer Killers which is why their are quite a few of them on a rework list for road maps.

But the game is killer sided they are balancing it to be 60% kill rate on killer and 40% for survivors this is by definition an uneven playing field by design.

The game has always been extremely survivor sided when survivors are playing to win and not just goofing around like what happens in soloq.

60% kill rate means the killer has a win rate under 50% still. The kill rate should be around 65% to aim for the 50% win rate. Also keep in mind that killer is supposed to be the power role because it's an asymmetrical game.

This is why solo and swf are like 2 very different modes and should be treated as such. solo is very much killer sided. swf is very much survivor sided.

swf teams often climb the ranks of mmr like the killers do which is why they usually get to a point that killers get swf teams more and more frequently. solo players can struggle to get into high mmr because its so killer sided, they lack the team work that swf provides and often have some random guy going next or avoiding gens. easy win for the killer. But when killers get SWF with good team work and coms the killer needs to do whatever they can to win. the difference between playing to win and goofing around is crazy regarding the gen speeds.

Now in case A, these people call the game killer sided. In case B, these people call the game survivor sided.

In case B, you can just play a stronger killer.

In case A, I can't just conjure up teammates out of thin air to play in my SWF. My friends hate this game, and it is hard to argue with the points they make.

In case C (where they play both sides)(aka the one that matters) they say the game is killer-sided. If you need proof, just look at the killer queue times. If you'd rather wait 10-20x as long to avoid survivor, you're telling us which one you think is miserable.

I want people to put their queue times where their mouth is

Did someone hack your account? I’m super confused because for the longest time you have been calling for killers to be nerfed and that kill rate average should be 50%.

Also what the heck is a win rate in dbd? The game doesn't have a win state.. its killer or escape. And a 60% kill rate means your average 2 kills with some games being 3 kills and few were you have 0 and 4. Winning isn't a part of the equation. You kill. And in a certain number and that's the kill rate.

The game should be killer sided to an extent as it's featuring iconic death machines chasing after normal people. But obviously I don't think it should be more then 60-70% in there favor with 70 pushing it.
