so fun and wild both a blessing and a curse dont ya think?
i remember when i tried my first Hex only build, i regreted it. not because the hex's were cleansed but… more along the lines half my build fell through because no one cleased the totems. Haunted ground, really is a menace to both killer and third partied survs

whats your favorite story on a hex build? as killer or going against it?

    I love Haunted Grounds.

Mainly because the survivors always cleanse totems that spawn right in the open.

If you have a perk that also HAS to be cleansed (Devour or even better, Blood Favor), you WILL get value.

I have a very simple standpoint on hexes they either win you the match or get cleansed in the first few minutes

iLOVE Hex builds, iHATE the luck I have with the RNG, so that deters me from ever touching Hex builds. Playing against it, it's eventually found early on.

Haxes are in poor state, I only use one max two with good effects because every time i use ruin theres like 50% chance survivors will spawn right on it. Hexes should be glass cannos (if bhvr wants them that way but most new arent worth to use only in some specific builds) with strong effect like devour, noed, blood favor, undying, maybe hounted grounds but most hexes arent worth running compare to other perks which last more than half of the game.

Hex builds can be both a blessing and a curse (no pun intended).
Some survivors will definitely go out of their way to cleanse particularly strong hex perks like Devour Hope or Blood Favor, I know I do when I am on the receiving end.

But like others said, it is definitely a lot of RNG involved when it comes to the hexes, since sometimes a totem spawns right next to the survivor's spawn location. I have several times spawned in as a survivor, only to see a lit totem right next to me.

Before Pentimento was nuked from orbit, Hex builds were semi-reliable (even a SoloQ team with a good enough memory of totem cleanse notifications can easily deduce where the Pentimento totem is when it procs) and it was a decent alternative to gen slowdown if I wanted to shake things up since even non-mobility Killers could get some value.

Now though, Hex builds are a true coin toss between "it spawned in a corner and carries you because no one finds it" and "gets destroyed before the Survivors even know what the Hex was".

Currently, nearly every Hex perks are simply too weak to justify the possibility of losing them less than 30 seconds in.

Devour Hope on the Swamp map locating the bones is the hardest thing on that map. Even with Small Game it's hard finding them.

On one of the car wreckers map against a Huntress with old Undying and forget the other Hex, but it's the one that reveals everyone's aura when a Hex is broken. I had small game or the Jill perk and I was running around breaking that one Hex perk over and over and over and over and the last one. I gave the Huntress aura hacks for so long my team was getting destroyed. I bet she was intentionally ignoring me cause of what I was doing. Sure lost the game but it was so worth lol.

forcing a survivor to tickle a bone for 16 seconds is guaranteed value vs going in perkless! that's more than what could be said for some perks.

The first and only time I tried an all hex build was on Trapper. It was a coordinated team. I got 0k. Straight up disaster. I don't even know if I got a hook. One of them messaged me and told me to pick a different killer lol

Whenever I dare to use them now, they almost always spawn on the other end of the map, with the survivors. It they'd spawn at the closest totem to where the killer spawns, I'd use them more. Like let me just see the thing before it gets cleansed. Even Plaything will usually spawn right next to the hooked survivor.

Even with the change they made to spawns a while back for hex totems just still leads to "Ah darn its gone" I get sooo sad when like I dont even get to get the two hook bonus with Devour..
