The change to map offering mechanics feels unfair
After the latest update, when map offerings now only provide a 20% chance, using them has become almost meaningless. Previously, an offering allowed players to guarantee a specific map, which made it possible to practice, test builds, and simply play in a favorite location.
Now, offerings are essentially wasted because the chance is too low, and additional offerings do not stack. As a result, the motivation to use this progression element has disappeared.
I understand that the goal is to avoid excessive map repetition and improve balance, but perhaps other options could be considered:
- Increase the chance to at least 40–50%.
- Create a separate mode/private matches where map selection is unrestricted.
- Or implement a system where the chance increases if a map hasn’t appeared for a long time.
Thank you for continuing to develop the game, but it would be great if offerings could once again have a meaningful effect.

I'm not even sure map offerings work at 20%. Pretty sure it's a placebo.

"Create a separate mode/private matches where map selection is unrestricted"
You can already chose maps (and their variants) freely in custom games. Been like that forever.

I was fine with removing map offering. I’m not fine with them still existing in blood web being trash + that they artificially increased chances to play on the worst maps possible

Weird how players wanted to practice on maps that put other side into disadvantage so often…

Map offerings didn't need to be nerfed after the Sacrificial Wards were added to the common rarity. If someone hates map offerings then they can just bring a Sac Ward.
DBDs map rng is so bad right now. Map offerings would be nice if they worked like in the past so that we don't have to play the same 4 maps over and over.

And it's great. With 5 maps in rotation right now I only even more convinced of how much better game with map variety and without players possibility of making their match in 10 times easier for 3k bloodpoints in their bloodweb.

If its only 20% they may as well just not exist. lol

Those who didn’t like that players were placing cards they considered “unfavorable” for one of the sides could make an offering to cancel those cards — and that was fair. But now, there’s simply no point in making offerings for cards, because they really don’t work. A 20% chance is an absurdly low probability that, in practice, seems to not work at all. After 10 offerings, I haven’t received the card I placed even once. If the developers leave things as they are, it would honestly make more sense to just remove these offerings altogether, so they don’t clutter up the web

It was less of an issue since killer could see, who used the offering. I was free to show the survivor what I think of it…
I am really not sad they are gone tho.

Uhm, I assume by cards you means map. Ok.
Personally, I've never had anything against offerings. But there's nothing fair about them. You're simply putting other players in a position of deciding the conditions under which the game will be played. And counter offerings don't make a lot of sense. No one here is saying that the current state of map offerings is okay—people simply feel that things weren't much better before

But my map is the same as the random map they would have drawn. It doesn't matter whether I decide which map we play or whether the game randomly decides.

It’s not the same, if you see 10th Eyrie of Crows in a day or 10th Scratched Mirror Myers on Hawkins
It was a good period of time when as soon as you aren't bringing counter map offering you literally had 50% chances getting not on really beneficial map for you. Or repetitive one

map offerings wouldnt be an issue if they kept them hidden. it was having them visible so people would DC in loading screen that was the issue not so much the offerings themselves.

I have a suggestion.
They can stay as they are, at 20%. We shouldn't give players the guaranteed advantage back.
But make it so they are refunded if the map that you selected an offering for is not selected.
So they are still bad, just can't be wasted.
