Healing VS Doing Gens
I really want to know you guys thoughts on this…..why do survivors heal so much rather then doing gens? I had a match where we was still at 5 gens because everytime someone got hit they would leave to go and heal….I understand healing is important but sometimes its OK to stay injured a bit longer to get gens done esp if you have Resi - sometimes survivors always want to heal you not knowing you have Resi and when you tell them to go away they still try to heal you….very frustrating
Also, another thing….as soon as someone gets hooked they stop being on gens and run for the save, its OK to leave a survivor on the hook for a bit but just make sure they dont go into second state , i honestly feel like these are the main reasons why most survivors barely escape - that and because some survivors just play bad and make bad decisions

and this is why people get tunneled, they make bad plays by healing when they shouldnt, not healing when they should, saving to soon, when in chase they loop the pallet next to the hooked survivor instead of taking the chase away from the hooks or away from the gens. try telling people this and they will not accept that the reason they lost is due to their own actions….its because of tuneling or the killer is op or slugging.

agree fully with this, my point exactly - like i never understood why survivors make decisions like this its literally 90% of most of my matches

It’s fine to heal when your team has reset build. Me personally running a whole build for this with empathic connection, so survivor can find me later for a heal. I also use resurgence, so if teammate doing a trade, I can reset fastly enough myself with medkit. Heal is the meta I personally prefer over any genrush :)

The answer is they probably don't have enough experience with the game but I'm also gonna say too much altruism kills.

Thants why I dont play paluge because if i get survivors that dont cleance randomly and stay infected and focus on gens all the time they would normaly run around the map looking for someone to heal them or heal then are done in minutes without fast downs and strong build. There isnt many scarier things than competant survivor team that understands fully killers power and plays the counterplay the whole team is knowing the counterplay (dont cleansing against plague, she is without addons not that strong, sliting to duos against twins so you can play around victor when he cases you both injured because if he downs one other will kick him and heal up the downed one if charlotte is far, things like this are always scary) than its hard game.

Exactly. This or they just sit around a main building making their chase REALLY unappealing.

So many survivors heal under the hook even when they shouldnt, its because now healing meta is around healing under the hook but if you cant heal super fast like in 8 seconds max and killer has no chase than its clear he will most likely come back under the hook and try to find survivors there (if he does it once there is huge chance he will do it again) so best option is sometimes just move few meters under the hook into some corner because if killer wont see you or your marks like blood or scratch marks than he wont be wasting time looking for you and will move on most likely but few survivors have this critical thinking that is just guessing what will killer do instead doing everything so automatic and same each time without thinking how the killer thinks and what are his options, predicting the killer is something that will help you so much on average.

Genuine curiousity. There are many factors as to why someone would be healing before returning to a gen. Maybe the gen they're pressuring is in 3 gen and its unsafe (no pallets or loop to go to if the killer comes to the gen), so being hooked beside it is not ideal. Playing the long game is necessary in that situation, cus if u rush and get caught outta position, u sell the game.

Healing is important. I can't count the number of matches we've lost because a teammate refused to heal after their first hook, so they got their second hook early and then inevitably died, which screwed over the rest of us.

One thing to keep in mind is solo queue teammates aren't telepaths. They don't know what you're trying, thinking, or what your skill level is. Sometimes it takes a couple tries before I realize a teammate wants to intentionally remain wounded for some reason or another and isn't just panic running. Hell sometimes it takes a try before I realize they're broken and I've got an icon for that.

I wish more survivors run this, because seems like almost no one understands how much impact these perks bring. Drop your fckn Deja Vu and equip Botany or Do No Harm, it will save significantly more time for you and your team.
I was running Emphatic Connection, but I just dropped it. Watching how another Sable use her medkit in 5 meters near me for 10 matches in a row and in her head running "We she is yellow? Is my WoO bugged? I can't drop or vault her it seems"... exhausting.
But I almost always run at least 1 healing perk for years and now enjoy Solidarity + Autodidact combo. It's almost a crime don't run any now, when altruistic healing is almost absurdly strong.

Desperate measures, botany, connection and clean break is sth I started to love to use recently. Yes it would be hard if killer would tunnel me for example, but it happens not that frequently, so I would rather use it
Sprint and resurgence with woo + sth optional is when I feel it is time to run some meta. But I do really hope more people will start to run at least 1 perk that works for time saving for team in resetting

Definitely.
Botany, Autodidact (+ Tambourine perk), Resurgence, We'll Make It, all of these are great rn.

- Yes, healing (and knowing when to do it) is part of the experience and skill of the game. For example, if you have Resilience or DH, there's no need to constantly heal. Or if you're against an insta-down killer, healing is literally useless. And what about Legion? When I'm in Solo Q, I always hope it has the addon that makes you "broken" so it forces you not to heal.🤣 In my opinion, the great popularity of Finesse and "healing perks" in general has a significant impact on this aspect...

There's a time to heal and a time to push gens, if I can see a killer is in chase with someone - then I'm going to push on that generator. It also depends on the killer, a stealth killer I'm more likely to heal against - Legion, nope likely won't heal against as it's more of a time waste unless Thana is involved and then at least one survivor needs to be healthy….and it's not endgame. I'll often 99 my heal as well so that I can get some Resi benefit.
There's so many differing options - I do run Second Wind a lot, so like to heal someone to get that activated but I also run Desperate Measures so can get pretty quick heals off.

Normally in most cases the best is to push gens over healing. That said, we've been in a crazy heal meta. Most matches have stacked heals making healing ridiculously fast and there's basically no counter play to this on killer side. Most the anti heal perks are trash atm. So with how crazy heal speeds are right now the few seconds is usually worth it. This is all situational though.
