Survivors deserve better
Hey Behaviour Team,
I’ve been playing Dead by Daylight for a while, (7 years killer & survivor ) to be exact and I’m seriously frustrated with how unbalanced the game has become for survivors. We barely have anything that genuinely helps us just a flashlight, medkit, or map and even those barely function.
The flashlight? It’s pointless unless you use it at a perfect frame or know some super specific trick. You can aim it dead in the killer’s face and it still won’t blind unless you time it exactly right. That’s not skill that’s chance.
Meanwhile, killers have an endless list of powers and perks to track us: they can see where we are, where we’re doing generators, and even stop us from running or escaping. If this game is supposed to be about survival and challenge, why does it feel like the match is over before it even starts?
Every time I load in, it doesn’t even last a minute literally. Everyone’s dead in seconds because the killer’s overpowered. What’s the point of joining a game that’s over before you can even breathe? It doesn’t even last as long as a Call of Duty match. That’s not tension, that’s disappointment.
It’s gotten to the point where killers actually feel bad for survivors so they’ll purposely go easy, letting us finish generators or even escape, because they know they’re overpowered. And honestly, that’s not fun for either side. Survivors shouldn’t have to rely on a killer’s mercy to enjoy the game.
And when survivors finally do get something that helps, like the fog perk, it’s taken away immediately because killers complained. The moment survivors get a little power, it’s gone. But when killers complain? Changes happen overnight. Why is it so one-sided?
The game doesn’t even feel like horror anymore it feels hopeless. Not because it’s scary, but because it’s rigged. Survivors don’t want pity rounds where killers “go easy” We want balance. We want a fair fight.
EDIT :
I don't care about anyone attacking me over my experience I told the truth that’s why yall mad . I'm having a good day and not wasting energy arguing. Most of y'all don't even know me I've been playing for 7 years, not "since yesterday," so put some respect on that.
My message was for the Behaviour Team, not random people trying to argue. I said what I said:)
Honestly, I'm out. I'll be on The Sims & The newest Call of Duty at least that feels like a real investment. Dead by Daylight just ain't worth it right now.

Try playing killer against decent survivors before you come out with such garbage.

I think you might need to be more specific. DBD is a massive game with numerous facets. While I realise you may be venting, there are lots of layers to calling one side or the other "overpowered".
Flashlights for example become much harder to deal with as a killer with lower lethality, if players go down in the open with players hiding nearby with Background Player. The timing on blinds has a buffer on it that allows you to save far easier than it used to be. The proper timing is to blind when the killer switches their hand under the survivor to put them on their shoulder.
Aura perks come at the expense of gen slowdown perks, anti healing perks and chase perks. Yes the killer has lots of options, but they can only have up to 4, and will realistically only equip 2. If you are familiar with killer aura perks, a big portion of the game is figuring out what the opposition has. A good survivor assumes perks like Lethal Pursuer or Barbecue and Chilli, just like a good killer assumes Dead Hard or Decisive Strike.
There are also multiple reasons a killer can turn friendly, the most common one for me as kilker is one Survivor completely threw the game and didn't even make a game of it. Other times are because some killers play chill in events, such as the current haunted by daylight. Some turn friendly because of memes. There are quite a few killers who turn friendly if you play them a tune with Bardic Inspiration or One Two Three Four!
Without a description of what happened, it's hard to assess the issues you're referring to.

Id say its imbalanced in both directions. For example i had a round today where kaneki brought a whole build just to knock people down until they abandon. Not much of a chance to do a generator when he constantly knows where everyone is, reaches them in seconds, leaves no time for healing, and has 0 interest in the void. So you have to sit there and keep going, even though you know how it will end.
Yet at the same time survivors if they come in as a fully equipped squad with a specific goal of never allowing the killer even 1 hook, as the killer player you feel just as helpless and decide to just stare at the sky till the round is over.
So everytime a new set of perks come out both sides go "aww man they are all crappy perks" because if they were any good theyd start massively abusing them immediately till they are nerfed.

If a killer sees 1 flashlight they immediately go into their perks and switch to lightborne so theyre worthless and you now have a dead weight item. Why cant we see their add ons like they see our items in lobby?

Does anyone actually believe this is a serious post?

Switch to playing only killer then come back and laugh at your own thread here lol

I wouldnt say one flashlight does something or mean something but if the killer had bad time with flashlight squad I dont blame him for doing it especialy you can still as survvior switch last second to other survivor that doesnt look so plain and is gear up so thats logical someone will be more cautious with few flashlights in lobby or some survivors having simular names which can mean they are togeather so there is bigger chance for some squad or duo with strategy.

Obvious rage bait is obvious

I don’t think it’s the killers power per se rather than play style. Yes the killer has more advantages but they are easily countered once you figure them out. I say slugging, camping, tunneling are your core issues. Also lack of survivors put babies in higher ranks so they don’t have a chance.
