DC Penalty needs to be reinstated.

Survivors are just DCing every game now. The worst part is that's barely even an exaggeration, even just watching DBD streams 1v4 has a DC almost every single game against every single Killer it's insane. There's 0 excuse for making DC penalty more lax.

The penalty needs to be made harsh, too. The first DC should be an hour long ban and then go from there.

Im asuming the lax dc penalties was about the way they havent figured out a way to detect if you manually dc'ed or just lost connection by accident. Or allows you to dc atleast once if you absolutely need to go somewhere in a hurry with real life stuff.

But what its been used for nowadays its as if everyone is aware they get 3 free dcs per 20 games and whichever round the like the least they can just leave no problem.

Agreed, its getting borderline ridiculous. If its not that I get a hacker that ruins the match for me. I just want some normal matches without dcing and hacking.

    First dc → 5mins

    Second dc → 15mins

    Third dc → 35mins

    Fourth dc → 60mins

Each dc point is removed once you play 50 games without disconnecting. Abandoning doesn't count.

It needs to be removed if anything. You incentive players in a game to stay by having a fun game to play, not by forcing them to stay in the match. It's been a scourge stick masquerading as a "feature" now for years. Remove it if you want the game long term to be healthy.

lol ye remove it and watch how many people DC just because they can or the dont like going against spirit or they wanted to play RPD but got wreckers or they wanted to go for blind but found out killer has lightborn…. sounds like a fun game….

If all that was holding the game up was the scourge of the DC penalty, then that will be very telling that there is no redeeming qualities for the game that retains players. You surrender in COD you lose match bonus. Why does BHVR want you to have NOTHING if you DC? It would be one thing if I could reconnect, but no, you have a little bit of spottiness and BOOM you've "DC'd", no bloodpoints, penalty, you get NOTHING! That's not a way to run a game, bro.

if you don't want to play the full match, don't queue up at all, not that hard.

    1. dbd is 4 v 1 not 6 v 6
    2. just because people can DC leaving their team at a disadvantage in other games doesnt mean it should happen in all games
    3. if your going to DC over any little thing then maybe the game isnt for you? i mean why bother joining a match if your going to DC? just dont play. if i played cod and didnt like being shot at, i wouldnt start a match and then DC the second im shot, i wouldnt play it.
    4. using cod is a very bad example because cod is notorious for its toxic player base that has people join matches with the only intention of greifing team mates. you saying dbd should be like that?
    5. allowing DCing freely would 100% kill the player base of dbd. survivors DC and the killer is left alone with bots….not fun. killers DC and the match ends instantly…not fun.

I was playing out a round and managed to loop the killer long enough for the last gen to pop while i was being carried to the hook to die. Got hooked, and before my character could die the game crashed, kicked me out and made me fill out a crash report. So i went back in, messed around with some cosmetics, click play and BAM 5 min dc penalty. Until they fix crashing and connection problems on their end causing dc penalties, its not justified to make it even worse.

When playing online games, there are far too many players (especially on NA servers) who fail to grasp that both allies and enemies are human beings investing their time to play. Even when playing games like LoL, Pokémon Unite, Apex Legends, or Valorant, disconnections and quitting aren't this frequent.

I don't think you are aware of the concept called "entitlement". No player wants to be the first injured, shot, killed, sacrificed, looped for 5 gens etc whatever the objective is in a game, and when it does happen; some players will just DC whether out of frustration or as stated; entitlement. Telling them to play something else often falls on deaf ears because they will still continue to play the game regardless. Of course in this case a lot of this is also BHVR's fault, they constantly make questionable decisions and/or leave frustrating things in the game (for both sides), yet all they did was create an even worse and flawed penalty system; which clearly was a poor excuse to cover up their own incompetence at failing to address the core issues that still go unresolved to this day. (Not saying their should not be penalties, but it's also currently a joke deterrent).

thats exactly why penalties need to be harsher, to stop people from playing the game and then DCing out of entitlement. if they are frustrated for whatever reason its time to take a break. first to be found or injured or hooked or whatever reason they give, like you say they will DC but they cant do that if the penalty restricts them from playing.

Its like griefers that find fun by ruining matches for other people… they will do it regardless simply because they can. The answer is stop them playing.

To me, allowing DCing is no different to allowing griefing or hacking. simply put, they ruin the match. Telling hackers "dont use hacks to cheat" will fall on deaf ears too but we shouldn't allow them do freely do it. Same applies to DCing.

I'm mostly annoyed at losing winnable games because a survivor got upset and DCed at the slightest inconvenience. Bots are better than nothing but they can't make the correct strategic plays and it does cause games to be lost that otherwise would have won.

Sweaty killers are a big pain when they try to 4k at 5 gens against a soloq team but this DC epidemic is much more than just that. But sure, I guess just keep blaming only killers for survivors DCing in events like DCing because a killer has lightborn, or they go down first in chase, or whatever other minor reason they decide on.
