Vecna (The First) feedback

Rn this killer is one of the most oppressive ones and very terrible to go against, it's just Krasue / Ghoul all over again.

  1. Spam of Vine attack with no cooldown is terrible, cd need to be at least changed from 1.5 to ~3s
  2. "Rabbit Remains" blue addon is absolutely braindead, guaranteed 20s exhaustion is dumb especially when distance is the main counter to this killer you literally cannot use any exhaustion perk against this
  3. You hardly can bodyblock agaisnt this killer to help your teammates and basekit mori even more incentivises to tunnel with easy counter to DS
  4. Vine attack / Undergate attack hits even when you're out of range and it feels awful, I guess it's not even related to ping cuz I played against players with 30-40 ping and it still hits you even when you're one step away from the attack, maybe it's hitbox, I don't know
  5. People quickly figured out that aura readings is busted on him and can see you multiple times in chase for 5-8 seconds spamming Vine attack removing any mindgames devs were talking about when facing him but that's again related to his cooldown, he shoudn't be able to use it like a machinegun

So once more and more players gonna figure out misarable playstyle on him people just gonna dc against him, he's just out and alread boring and misarable to go against (when killer know what he's doing).

I kind of hate the design from a gameplay perspective. There's less counterplay here than Nurse, and I main Nurse.

There's almost no detonation delay on the ranged attack. Jimmy on 90 ping is going to hit you every time. The "counter" is to randomly dodge and zone yourself, except he's 4.4 so he can actually walk you down while you zig zag like a maniac. Imagine if Nurse could blink as often as he can spam vine attack.

It's so easy to land that there's almost no point in interacting with the clocks. It's not this special thing that he only has a few times per match like a Pinhead chain hunt. Worldbreaker is constantly up whether you do the clocks or not.

Also, clocks need to put the upside down realm on cooldown. There's no point on using the clock if he can summon the realm instantly.

He's B at best. Completely outplayed by holding W. Is he fun to go against? No, so is not Nemesis, Alien or any other killer who has antiloop power with no cooldown.

    B? xdddd
Nemesis is M1 killer you can easily counter using sprints , pallets , crouch etc and Alien easily counterable if your team using turrets wisely.
This killer barely has any counter and it relies on luck, try to hold W when he catches up with undergate give you 20s exhastion then spams you with vine attacks

Well, if you struggle against Vecna then it's skill issue. I escaped 3 of 4 games against him on average.

Against people with trash builds and who barely played any games on him? Yeah… I escaped against such Vecna's too, I also looped 200hrs Nurse for 3 minutes recently, guess Nurse is garbage now…

Its not as bad as the two.

Its just really bad if you want to cheese with him by holding power and using aura perks to get garantied hits. (Unfortunately distortion sadly does not help whatsoever, since its been gutted)

Its also feels like hes in power and gets power 24/7 even when you "play the counterplay"

Alot of maps also just benefit him more than it harms, preschool is open, the game is open and can hit you from any elevation.

He also just doesnt get effected by tiles as much as anyone else.

Even if you use perks against him, like scene partner and eyes of belmoth, he can still hit you because he just got lucky, held power for 30s or the map is just abysmally bad to play against (rpd, coldwind, dnd map/borgos)

The only reason why he is not this hated, is because ghoul and blight is 10x worse and cheesy than the first ever could be.

I have seen people try to abuse plaything hex perks with thrill, penti and hivemind, but its honestly just like every killer who could run it.

I just wish his power wasnt so spamable and he actually gets punished for missing or holding his power for way too long. He does feel very bullshit when you have to dodge so much and barely get to waste time.

Hold W to counter??? You hold W and you just get walked down and hit with his M2 attack??? You don’t hold W you get hit with an M1 attack??? You’re just factually incorrect.

That's why distortion need to comeback either to prev version or buff current one keeping it chase oriented, main complain was people hiding doing nothing but with new crows system it's no longer the case.
The first literally doesn't care about single pallet, Blight does and Ghoul was problematic only on release and shortly after, rn he's countarable.
That's the main point, he needs longer cd, if he uses auras he can see you in chase let's say for 5s and can hit you with Vine attack like 3 times fully see you.

I've been saying that after few hours of playing as and against him on ptb.

He is busted. He is nurse-level killer. Especially if we give people time to learn him.

I think it’s still a bit early to call The First “OP” or “weak” overall… most players (on both sides) are still learning the matchup. Right now a lot of the frustration seems to come from predictable pathing: if you just W-key in straight lines, you’ll get clipped fast. If you vary your movement, play edges, and don’t autopilot, you can actually extend chases quite a bit.

That said, there are a couple of rough spots worth looking at:

    • Inconsistency / timing: sometimes(rare) the AoE feels like it “ticks” extremely fast when placed directly under you (almost no reaction window, even for Dead Hard). Not sure if that’s ping-related or a bug, but it feels uneven compared to the usual timing.
    • Add-on issues: Rabbit Remains especially feels off (Exhausted applying in situations that shouldn’t count (while in locker) / inconsistent application timing). Might be worth a check.

For survivors: Grandfather Clocks are not optional. If the team ignores them and keeps doing gens/heals, you’re basically handing over free snowball…. especially once the killer knows what they’re doing.

For killers: don’t tunnel-vision on M2. Use M2 for zoning/forcing movement, but take the free M1 when you get it instead of fishing for perfect placements.

Overall: give it 1–2 weeks for real matchup knowledge to settle, but please do investigate the timing/consistency + Rabbit Remains interactions, because those are the parts that currently feel least “fair” to play around.

Add a CD to his attacks please, why the heck does he get to just ignore windows and pallets existance.

Stop making killers who ignore the entire games mechanics. I love the mindgame part of his kit but it's too spammy and boring.

Like also why on earth do you release a trap perk with this chapter and its worthless vs the new killer as per usual.
