Blood warden needs a nerf

honestly blood warden just feels unfair you can do everything right all match get the gates powered and then one hook flips the whole game it makes the endgame feel more about one perk than about how people actually played everyone says just leave but that does not work in solo queue you do not know they have it until it is already active and then everyone is stuck nobody wants to abandon their team every time just in case killers already have a ton of endgame pressure blood warden on top of that just makes escaping feel pointless sometimes because of that either the perk needs to be toned down or they need to bring back ds in endgame so survivors at least have some kind of chance

Blood Warden is fine of a perk as it is. It's very easy to play around as it is only triggerable once the exit gates are opened and you hook a Survivor in that time. It's a major reason why Survivors are conditioned to 99 the Exit Gates because the existence of Blood Warden can turn an easy escape into a perilous endeavor. NOED as a perk is more problematic than Blood Warden and NOED is not really used beyond Low MMR crutches and some Endgame Builds

You know, that argument can be applied to any perk in the game:

DS feels so unfair, you can do everything right all game then a Survivor forces you to eat DS and now you're losing suddenly because of one perk.

Pain res feels so unfair, you can do everything right all game then a killer hooks a Survivor and your 99 gen gets dropped and blocked.

Exhaustion perks feels so unfair, you can do everything right all game then the Survivor vaults a window and runs a mile, you down them but get hit by dead hard, you chase them down a drop and they run away, you catch a Survivor in a locker but get stunned by head on.

XYZ feels so unfair, you can do everything right all game then XYZ happens and now you're losing.

its an empty perk slot until the very end, if most of the game can go by without the perk even being triggerable then why should it be nerfed?

one perk alone possibly being in play and only being available to use for such a small percentage of the match is also nowhere near reason enough to have DS possible in the endgame.

Major self report, OP. BW has plenty of counterplay, and its pick rate is very low. Instead of calling for a niche perk to get nerfed cause you got outplayed one time, maybe learn the counterplay?

The "counter play" is "Open the gates and leave immediately." Endgames are for SWFs

Tbh it's relatively easy to avoid bloodwarden, unless you have a brain dead random playing with you.

If killer is about to hook someone, don't open the damn exit gate. Wait until they are hooked, then open.

And don't go for stupid hook saves at the end of a game. Amount of games I've seen go 180 very quick because ppl are too trigger happy on exit levers or go for suicidal endgame saves is way too high. Turns a 3 out into a 1 or even 0 out

Bloodwarden is a very rare perk already because it's not that great it's only in the endgame abd can only be used once.

If anything bloodwarden needs a buff maybe to be reactivate when you hook another survivor.
