Where is Yun-Jins update? (Voice Lines and Lobby music)

Wow this is disappointing from BHVR

you're getting blasted but I appreciate ya. I don't mind characters having voices, but not retroactively. its weird having a head canon voice and then have it be changed.

In the nicest way possible, this is stupid. Trickster gets MORE voice lines and an entire new flair to his animations plus adjusted chase music through add-ons, so why shouldn't Yun-Jin get anything beyond the reason "We're just not adding voice lines for older characters"? Is it because she isn't licensed like the original Resident Evil or Stranger Things characters?

This statement is questionable. If that’s the case, why were Nancy, Steve, and Jonathan allowed to have voice lines if the original release had them as muted characters?

Having special cases depending on whether they’re original or licensed characters is a lame excuse, but I suppose that’s what’s being implied by pervious actions.

It makes zero sense not to give Yun-Jin anything while Trickster gets new 90+ voice lines, new menu animation intro and new chase music with S rank and addons, dbd mobile skin and a MiNA as a potential legendary skin. I am sorry but there was no reason to neglect Yun-Jin while Trickster should have fitted into not giving older characters voice lines.

The way I see it, the ones responsible for updating this old chapter saw it as an opportunity to add more content to the all kill chapter and for some reason thought if they added voicelines to an old survivor then the community would be in an uproar asking when all the others are being done. So here we are hammering Mandy and the others like it was their fault while they are just here to deliver our feedback to the ones who do make the changes. (please add Shanoa as a legendary skin for Trevor Belmont) One way they can look at it is its not about updating all the og survivors to have voicelines, its about updating this 1 specific chapter as a whole and only Yun Jin since her chapters killer just happen to be due for a rework / overhaul / new map / new content etc. They don't have to add lines to alllllll the characters, just update Yun Jin to the same level that Trickster and Kwan Tae-Young are at since the intention was to give the whole chapter an update. And it seems her voice actress is available for the work with the company being contacted recently. (Please add Shanoa as a legendary skin for Trevor Belmont) If they were to add her lines its understandable it wouldnt be with the chapter release as theyd have to schedule things and make calls and spend time making the lines and putting them in the game which wasnt planned for so far. But perhaps it can be added later on whenever its ready if everything works out and all parties agree. (Please add Shanoa as a legendary skin for Trevor Belmont)

And given that they are already giving older character french voice lines (Both original and licensed) and given licensed characters voice lines even if they didnt have them. There is already an uproar for giving old characters voice lines. Speciallly since they literally gave trickster 90 voice lines.

In regards to the hammering Mandy about this, it is literally her job to convey this feedback to the team - anything I or anyone says here about what we deem poor decisions is not directed at Mandy or any other community manager personally, yes some people can get angry and take it out on them (the unfortunate killswitch controversy last year being an example) but if a decision makes players unhappy as the lack of ANYTHING for Yun-Jin has for some, Mandy and her team are the only way of conveying that disappointment from us to those who make these decisions. Though I disagree with a lot of what she has to be the one to communicate to us, I have nothing but respect for Mandy.

As for them not planning to give her any at all, it goes against an answer to a reddit question previously stating that they would love to give old survivors new voicelines if given the chance, but as Cote said doing it for every survivor would be a huge undertaking (understandable from both a development and financial perspective). One can only imagine then that something such as a sequel to an original chapter is the perfect opportunity to do something like this, but this sudden change in attitude has come out of nowhere apparently. After saying one thing and then later going no we never planned to do that is either them not thinking ahead that people might get disappointed, or a lack of proper communication on this idea given one said yeah we would love to, and now it is no we have zero plans at all to do so. It reminds me of the complete confusion over if Fallen Refuge would be a tile for Garden of Joy randomly, or only if a Walking Dead character was in the trial, and then it suddenly just became its own mediocre map.

In regards to adding french voice lines they are not a means of adding new voice acting to characters that currently don't speak. All the french voice lines are for translation purposes only, and on characters that alredy have english voice lines, so that has nothing to do with making Yun Jin have french voice lines when she hasnt even spoken Korean yet. Or even someone like dwight who doesnt have english lines either.

Infact they dont even seem to announce when a new french voice is added its just a gradual translation tool of u have french mode on.(please add Shanoa as a legendary skin for Trevor Belmont).

But anyway hopefully they can understand now why it makes more sense to give her new lines with the rest of her chapter characters rather than leave her as is.

Not everyone wants voice lines added to characters they have played for years. I like that some characters have lines but don't want to hear them all the time in game.

Also, when they add voice lines they usually redo all the original character sounds and we end up with Steve situations where he loses his iconic scream. A lot of players gravitate toward characters based on the way they sound and would be put off if the character got revoiced in a way they found annoying.

I think the reason people are being this loud about it is because we just saw Trickster receive a huge batch of new voice lines, and it was done through the same voice company Yun-jin’s actress is still part of. It showed that revisiting a chapter can mean expanding a character vocally when the original VA is still available.

Otherwise, I don’t think anyone is asking for a full redo of Yun-jin’s voice. In fact, most of us absolutely don’t want that. Her voice is iconic and very tied to her identity. The reaction is about seeing that it was possible for Trickster and wondering why the same recognition wasn’t extended to her.

Did y'all forget about Steve, Nancy, Jonathan, Leon, Jill? They ALL got voice lines and a Theme.

Silent hill survive even got Pyramid head's theme.

Respectfully, you devs do not have confidence in survivors and I don't see why sideline a well-liked character.

Well his gameplay isnt. But people love his lore and personality. So like ignoring his gameplay. He is one of the most popular characters in DBD
