Why Isn't There A Ping System?

I understand not adding full on comms because the devs would likely have to uproot the foundational code in order to do so. But surely a radial wheel with things like going for save, I'm near, and opening gate along with other stuff the devs might deem useful could be simple enough to add, right?

It'd help with balancing too! Like it'd make perk balancing on both ends much easier if all survivors had the ability to communicate and it'd probably make solo queue less painful.

    They will probably add it in 10 years or something. I think it took the game 7 to 8 years before the HUD information was added so SoloQ teammates could have a bit more information about their teammates' whereabouts/actions. 9 years for colourblindness and other very basic and common settings to be added to the game.

    I don't think they mind adding it, it will probably just be in typical BHVR fashion where it is going to take them an unreasonable amount of time (years) to implement such basic changes.

    As for comms, I think one of the big reasons they didn't want to add it in general are the different servers across different counties with so many different languages being spoken and how it can't be moderated. Not everyone speaks English, nor likes to. But pinging or gesturing really shouldn't be an issue.

    Which is why I said that coms are unlikely lol. But I have some hope being able to see the lobbies perks is a W. Much easier to dodge lobbies with people running rat builds lol. So there's hope but it's slim unfortunately lol.

    Yes, I read your entire post, I know. I was just explaining why, since that is what the devs have said over the years, it wasn't an attack on you or a slight.

    As for you broaching an entirely different topic: that is exactly why they wouldn't want to add that to lobbies or in a way that would allow for people to just keep dodging and extending waiting times even more. You went from discussing adding more communication tools (something that would be helpful) to just you wanting to abuse info to dodge teammates/lobbies (something that is counterproductive).

    I mean is playing with a claudette that refuses to do anything other than hide for hatch fun for you? Like honestly I was mostly joking I just won't be expecting people running those builds to help me when I'm hooked or get on gens more than they need to to get rid of AFK crows.

    It's baffling that the team role for the team game has no way to communicate lol.

    I'm a little confused which of the two separate topics of yourself, you're discussing here. I'm going to assume the second in regards to seeing teammates' perks. I haven't paired with teammates who play like that in ages, it's not fun, but at the same time IDK if that person is new to the game or experienced. IDK if they're doing a Daily / Archive challenge. So as unfun or frustrating that might be, I try to keep those options in mind, because with DBD you never know.

    At the max the game lasts what 8 minutes? Maybe occasionally longer if you get really unlucky, but that is just par for the course. Would I want to have spent that amount of time in lobbies, with people constantly dodging them instead? No. At least in-game I can do stuff, earn BP, and do challenges.
