Might be a hot take but I wish blindness was stronger against survivors

I thought about this when theorizing about a brutal Pyramid Head build centering around using Hex: Third Seal, in which one could send a survivor to a cage of torment and potentially never be found until the blindness is removed. Then, I learnt that key killer-object auras are NOT hidden by blindness, basically nullifying what could have been a game-changing threat posed by the debuff, and I can't help but wish that wasn't the case. It's always interesting to realize that a powerful hex is active and takes priority, slowing down the game for a moment, in turn. Plus, a lot of the current status effects are generally just super niche and can be ignored by most players, if not shut down for the rest of the match. Survivors simply just don't rely on aura-reading half as much as killers do. Honestly, I think buffing blindness to hide killer-object auras as well would benefit a lot of lower-tier killers and open up more options to them.

What do you think, though? Would such a change be too strong, or would it be an interesting and fair game-changer?

I think it's that way because hooks give a sound notification when the surv gets hooked. Whereas cages dont give one after they've teleported.

And blindness certainly messes me up because windows is my crutch perk. Can't run a good chase without it lol.

I have tried third seal + cages before and it used to work. Blindness mustve changed at somepoint. And knockout was changed because everyone who just wanted to slug all 4 without hooking would be at a complete advantage if against soloque, and partial advantage against swf, but still extremely obnoxious to deal with. I don't think they want people to be unable to help eachother off hooks/cages/slug anymore.

I believe blindness is currently to counter windows of opportunity and cause survivors to waste more time finding things they often have perks for.

As has been mentioned, it's because SWF exists and VOIP is allowed.

Knock Out has used to work differently, maybe some other perks used to work differently aswell, and a handful of those perks, both on killer and survivor side had to be reworked / nerfed due to the existence of SWF and the possibility of them using VOIP.

    .. Indeed.

Some were quite oppressive, but that's not the point; The point is, the overhaul of the perks has caused a shift in the META (which is not a bad thing), but most importantly has outright removed specific strategies and made the game far more predictable, easier to learn, and has removed the variety that you'd see in the matches.

The said removed variety because players do no longer run those perks and them not feeling as oppressive has also lowered the average skill of the player quite significantly.
I've used to be able to hit Great skill checks nearly all the time when old Hex: Ruin was the META; Ever since they've nerfed it, I stopped feeling forced to go for them and can no longer hit them as consecutively as before, despite the fact that I played on 30 FPS and not on the todays 120 FPS cap.

    ..
And this is just one of the many examples.
Let's not even talk about the addition and buffed aura reading perks, despite the game losing its darkness amongst the other things..
