Rate My Build
I'm a day 1 player that is coming back to DBD after several years away from the game. I'm curious to see how my build holds up against the masses. I've had some really good luck with it recently but I'm curious to see what people think of this as a fun way to play for chases and objectives. It also should be mentioned that I am working to get some friends back into the game so while I'm an experienced player, I think that this build is beginner friendly as well. All perks are at level 3*
Lithe
Stakeout
*Unbreakable
Urban Evasion
Unbreakable is the only one that I feel could be swapped out since it's very hit or miss, especially at lower ranks when killers get a little tunnel-visioned.
Give it a try and give me your thoughts! I typically run items based on whatever quest I'm trying to complete but am partial to a flashlight if not doing a quest!

If your taking stakeout you'd be as well choosing Hyperfocus too then you have the most op combo in the game.

Switch unbreakable for hyperfocus and urban evasion for resurgence. The you should be good.

Hyperfocus + Stakeout is a strong gen combo, but deja vu is easier to use and the gen aura part helps your beginner friends.
Unbreakable has its moments, but i would swap it for something else. The mentioned resurgence is really good.
Lastly urban evasion is weak and it teaches bad habits. As experienced player you could use Finesse (nice combo with lithe), but your friends could use alert (to understand better from which direction the killer is coming from) or windows of opportunity to find pallets.

I wouldn't use hyperfocus + stakeout as a new player.
Lithe + Deja Vu + Kindred + Windows
Lithe + Decisive Strike + Kindred + Windows
Lithe + Unbreakable + Kindred + Windows
Lithe + Resurgence + Kindred + WindowsNote for you: players really hate Windows of opportunity, because how easy it is to get value from it.
But don't mind them talking - it's good perk for new player, that's just the fact.
You are not expected to be good at running around the map, knowing where to go etc. There is too many maps in the game. Those perk builds in my opinion would be the best at the start of the game.
Most of the perks are for free - DS, UB, Windows, Kindred. Resurgence would be amazing too, but you need to spend money.
You can change your build up a little bit with using deja vu, we will make it, Iron Will if you would like to play stealthy, balanced landing for exhaustion (sprint burst is harder to get value with, only good for preruns at the start, but we know new player would hide more than prerun).

I always think whatever works for you personally is a good build and what everyone else thinks doesn't really matter.
But I would say as a general rule, a good build for a beginner (or returning player trying to shake off the rust) is one that is fairly balanced and not too specialised. So for me that means a perk that progresses the objective, a perk that helps you out in chases and a perk that helps your teammates and yourself survive for as long as possible.
My basic core build is Sprint Burst + Botany Knowledge + Self-Care + something else (for me, that's usually Resilience).
Sprint Burst is the best exhaustion perk of all, imho. Unlike Lithe, you can use it anywhere on the map without alerting the Killer. It can get you away from a hook if the Killer is returning to tunnel you out and it's helped me get some last second cross map unhooks at times as well. It just has so much utility that often isn't mentioned.
Botany is great for healing up your teammates and makes a Self-Care heal take 30 seconds (which is only 6 seconds longer than a Med-Kit self heal). Keeping your teammates healthy matters a lot to beginner players because it helps to extend their chases as they won't be very good at looping. Newer players will often play too cautiously when injured and often won't get involved or progress the game as they should without being healed up.
I liked Self-Care a lot as a beginner because low MMR Survivors are a lot less altruistic and won't always heal you up after an unhook. But you can free up a perk slot and take a Med-Kit if you prefer. There's also a risk of toxicity from other Survivors now that the team can see your perks (some Survivors really hate this perk).
For a free build available to everyone, I would say Deja Vu, Kindred or Resilience are a very good 4th perk choice for this build. Other excellent 4th choice perks are Bond, Alert, Prove Thyself, We'll Make It, Will To Live and Borrowed Time.
That said, according to my stats I have a 33% escape rate with most of these perks. So make of that what you will!

Not bad for a beginner build. Urban evasion is the one that isn't really doing much, it does help with stealth but ideally you want to get better at chase.
Stakeout isn't bad but I'd add hyperfocus as they synergise really well. Unbreakable is a bit niche too but really clutch when you can use it.
Another good beginner perk I'd suggest is windows of opportunity. It really helps with chase a lot especially when you're quite new and allows you to chain pallets together to stay up longer.
