Which side has their hands held the most?

You could make arguments for both honestly, I personally think killer is harder as it requires more macro but looping a good killer as survivor can be quite taxing too. There's also the whole thing of perks and whatnot, many people think "survivors are handheld because they get the best perks." No, it is significantly harder to make a good killer perk without it being extremely broken on some niche killer with a random add-on so majority of the time its really hard to balance around. Whilst for survivors its more of "here is some really weird perk that is super fun to use but you likely won't get value out of it" or "the hand of god" either way I think both sides have their difficulties and its really annoying when people say the game is survivor or killer sided, when we all know its SWF sided.

What is the point of posting this as a topic other than to bait people into a big “us vs them” argument?

its the dbd community some people gonna take it sadly

realistically, as a survivor main, 100% survivors have been coddled the most. i’d say specifically for gen blocking after 8 kicks, basekit anti camp, basekit and anti tunnel because i believe actual features take ahead of simple number adjustments (like reducing pallet breaking speed or reducing survivor speed after being hit.)

The side you dislike the most.

those who are offended trying to find a way to argue against this statement

Hand-holding mechanics on each side:
Killer:
- Bloodlust (free haste)
- Instant 5% gen regression
- No anti-camp in end game
- Killer Instinct
- Much worse loops around maps.
- Power Creep, and lots of it
- 90 second generators (up from 80 seconds)
- BNP's and medkits heavily nerfed.
- So much aura read.
- Remote regression (Pain Res, Turn Back the Clock etc.)
- Gen-blockers (Dead Man's Switch etc.)
- Thrill of the Hunt
- Faster animations
Survivor:
- Basekit Borrowed Time (increased to 15 seconds)
- Anti-Camp
- 10% free haste off the hook.
- 70 seconds hook timers.
- More pallets to work with, but most are bad fillers.
- Removal of 1-hook moris
- A lot of aura read (but less than killers).
- Regression limits on gens
- Elusive
- Endurance perks
- Vigil
