Fruits of your Labor should be reversed.

While Aurora has yet to hit the PTB properly, we have had the early access PTB revealed by content creators, and so far one thing has stuck out to me pretty heavily. While Steadfast is a welcome addition to the boon roster and combines well with a number of other perks, and Salvations Cry needs some number buffs but makes sense mechanically as a solo queue support option, the only perk that has left me scratching my head a little is Fruits Of Your Labor.

For those not familiar, its a token based perk that gains a token each time a generator is completed anywhere. When YOU complete a generator, for each token, you gain 5% haste for 2 seconds as well as 20% healing progress, and honestly this seems…underwhelming, and a little bit confused. I think it would make a lot more sense, and be a much better perk besides, if you gained tokens by finishing generators and got the advantage when any generator is completed.

It would make her set of three perks more cohesive as a trio, as well. Lay down a boon that draws other survivors to the objective and improves gen speed, let your teammates know the situation when you get chased and let them decide if attacking that gen is worthwhile, and get small advantages in chase for your teammates making use of that information. A survivor coming in with a cohesive 'kit' that works well together would be a strong draw.

As it stands, I'm not sure when FOYL is actually meant to be used? If you're chased off the gen while your teammates complete it, you get nothing, the heal efficiency is MUCH more limited than resurgence if you're attacking a gen off the hook (and would still suffer from this even if resurgence gets nerfed in the midchapter!), and the odds of the killer dropping a chase on an injured target only to then not even patrol the gen is…low, especially in the late game. Its worse than adrenaline even if you're finishing the last gen, and I don't really see a numbers buff making it a more coherent design, even if it would make the perk better.

Yeah it's objectively just a worse adrenaline now. There's no point in it if it only activates when you finish a gen. Like if the percentage was higher so you regain something like forty or fifty per token when you pop a gen during the match I could see the vision but it's just a nothing perk as it is now.

I saw some streamers also confused about how this perk works, since many perks increase healing speed and this one is healing progress. The activation condition is a bit convoluted and if you are not injured you gain nothing. And imagine missing a full heal while someone finishes the last gen just before you get to it.

They should make it something more like: After completing a generator together, each person contributes 50% healing progress towards the injured survivors. So if 2 people are injured they get 50% each, but if only 1 is injured that person is fully healed. Healing after a gen pop happens a lot so players could understand the value. This way the Fruits of Your Labour are divided amongst those who need it.

i still feel like people forgot diminished exist. How is Boon:Steafast any good? Bless time for 10 % and any other perk will be diminished. I saw somone saying steadfast with overzealous will be busted no. It will be diminished and result with 15 % max speed. I'm not fan of repair perks but those new perks whould be good enough to compete the meta so they can focus on older perks rather than increasing amount of joke perks. If the only effect of the perk was to hide aura of gens in range it would be 100 % better while still meh.

The point of boons isn't to be crazy efficient on its own merits as a singular person, they're team support perks. When I say it works well with a large number of perks, I'm not referring to stacking as much gen speed as possible, I'm talking alongside the other boon roster, Lend a Hand, Flow State, other perks that synergize without being direct increases. If you have bless speed bonuses, or other boon perks, it becomes MUCH more time efficient. Its not going to be hard meta or anything, but its easily a decent perk even just considering the parts of it that are a boon version of Prove Thyself that still boosts solo repair.

At its absolute worst (numbers wise), assuming one instance of diminishing returns on every single person working the gen, the effect is still a teamwide Deja Vu that has the downside of setting time and being temporarily removable, but the upside of only taking up one perk slot to benefit multiple people and not needing any individual person on your team there to get the benefit. I would also like to point out that Deja Vu AND Prove Thyself both see play as reasonable picks.

I feel like that would make the perk worse but also situationally frustrating to play against.

If the mechanics were reversed, then if you don't happen to finish any of the first few generators completed in the match then you're never going to get a substantial benefit from the perk, even if you did complete the later ones. In that situation this would just be a massive nerf. On the other hand, If you do complete the first few generators and then get an instant heal mid-chase later without any prior tell for the killer I feel like that would potentially be problematic and just powercreep Adrenaline. I think the former situation where the perk is weaker would be more likely though.

I can confidently tell you this will NEVER be done.

Because that would just be a better Adrenaline. I thought that it would be like you said, so this is a bit of a surprise, but I think it is necessary.

Maybe they could get away with buffing the Haste, considering you have to be on a gen for it to function, but I don't see any bigger buffs.

I think its fine this way. the earlier gens are basically mini Resurgences which aren't a big deal to miss but you'll want to participate in the last gen for sure.

But none of those effects are actually strong enough to really warrant perk slots. I get what you are saying but this is why boons died out with circle getting killed. Without any actually good effects that will really help the team it's largely not worth running any boons even if it helps multiple people theoretically.

I genuinely understand where you're coming from, but I do disagree about their effects not being strong enough. The unfortunate truth is that even as far as support perks go, boons (when actually balanced, dark theory is in need of a buff and luckily likely to see one in the midchapter) are pretty much doomed to be unpopular. Its not necessarily a strength thing - I mean, circle of healing in its current state is actually a really solid effect, especially when combined with shadow step as a safe reset point - but they're both less self reliant and less consistent overall, especially if you don't have totem spots down (and who can blame anyone for that) or don't have a map with flint to run.

I mean, even some pretty crazy powerful perks see little play for these reasons, and boons are more upper mid tier solid effects. If game winning perks like Shoulder The Burden, or otherwise very strong perks like Duty of Care see very little play outside of the highest level, boons - which aren't these really extreme top tiers like shoulder or IMO deeply underrated support effects like Duty - don't stand a chance. And because they DO apply to the entire team for one perk slot, BHVR has to be really careful in how they're balanced, otherwise you get - like you mentioned - old Circle Of Healing, which was a good chunk of the survivor half of the worst overall meta to exist since the turn of this decade.

Circle is the weakest boon except illumination because tbh illumination is a joke. Seriously the odds of it saving time are almost zero due to the fact you are spending a lot of time to set it up AND it requires two people to spend time running into the boon. Are there times where it's okay? Sure but let's not pretend it's not like bottom of C tier for perks.

Also Duty of care is an outdated concept for a perk since it does effectively nothing. Seriously nearly every killer now has some way to either ignore a person bodyblocking or just instantly catch back up to the person they are trying to tunnel out. Blight, Spirit, Jason, Billy, all catch up rapidly which is really annoying and that's not even going into the issue of insta down killers making it a null perk since you can't really take hits with it. It's a terribly designed perk since you can only get decent value out of it against killers like trapper and skullmerchant. AND that's assuming you take the hit in the tiny radius for it to activate.
