How rare are legacies?

Member Posts: 686

During my 500ish hours of playtime I've only came across maybe 5 players in total wearing legacy outfits.

I know they were obtainable back in 2016 if you prestiged your character before the bloodweb change, right ? How many of you have them?

I haven't seen a single legacy or Bill in my games at all for the past 2 years I've been playing

It's rare to the point that if you see a Legacy outfit in your lobby it's probably cheated.

I just choose not to wear Legacy...

I chose not to get them. I value builds more than skins.

I just don't believe someone doesn't want to wear a legacy outfit.

    It is dumb.

The legacy outfit is bright af, so wearing it will reveal your location, I don't have it, but if I did, I will only run it on claudette because stealth makes the game boring

    Quite a few reasons

    A. They are bright, not helpful unless you want to be seen

    B. Either you get tunneled or camped because bright colors obviously = Cocky Survivor gotta show them legacy players or the killer avoids chasing you all game because you might be to good

    C. Being accused of being a cheater, sure nothing happens, but it doesn't make a person feel good, especially when they rightfully earned it

    D. There are cooler outfits than a glowing stock outfit, people have different tastes

Personally I like all the other choices. It was cool at the time when it was a choice between some stock clothes, Prestige clothes, or DLC bundled clothes. But more and more stuff come out. Most of which looks fantastic.

I started during howling grounds and haven’t seen a single legacy or Bill player! I don’t know why!

If i had Legacy i would probably be going all out and wearing the whole thing, because that was a sign that you knew the game and how it worked, and also that you were going to be the main aggressor of the group.

While having prestige meant that you were going to be semi-aggressive, having a full Legacy outfit meant that you meant business and that you wanted to fight the killer and save your friends.

When you had Legacy, you were the protagonist of that group.

A big reason is also that the majority of players who played in 2016 and got Legacy have long stopped playing this game and many have lost their Legacies during the Progress Loss epidemic that happened in 2017. The devs never reinstated those even though they had promised multiple times.

I have two pieces of Legacy: Dwight's Shirt and Wraith's Weapon. I rarely wear Dwight's Legacy shirt, and even though I use the Legacy weapon on Wraith, few people still recognise it for that (many assume it's the Hallowed Blight skin) and I don't play him that often.

if you wear legacy you’re going to be focused pretty hard by the killer. Easy to see too, so I don’t think many people use it.

Literally the brightest legacies I've seen are Jake and Nurse. You can see both from across the map, especially the torso pieces.

I've seen a couple but by checking the owner playtime and game skill I could tell they cheated it, would be cool to finally meet someone who earned it legitimately

I dont wear mine because it is rather bright and i like hiding close to killers because stealth play is super fun against someone like LF.

Cant tell you how many times i've laughed when ive hidden last sec behind a barrel or a wall and LF just walks right past me. (this wouldnt happen with legacy)

But the only time i pull out Legacy is with my friends or whenever a streamer trys to flex LUL

(EDIT) At the time i played killer more than survivor and i ended up dividing my time between survivor and killer so i have legacy 1 dwight and legacy 1 trapper

I don't wear mind all that often. Certain players see Legacy and decide you're now a trophy. True story, once had killer say "lol I mori'd a Legacy player XD" (I wish I was parodying but that was pretty much exactly what they wrote) because they killed me in an earlier match and I wore Legacy in the second one.

Met a guy from 2016 yesterday who had torso Legacy.

Then a week before that, there was a Jake.

So for me, out of the 5 rarities, i'd say Very Rare.

I always use the legacy head on my Meg and although I don't see other legacy players too often I'd say I see at least 1 or 2 every month but they are usually Claudettes or Jakes.

Normally seeing a legacy player (especially Dwights in my experience) means almost an automatic DC if they get downed too early, so the less legacy I see personally the better.

I'm pretty sure there are still (new) players in the game who hacked their legacies and still didn't get banned.

  • Member Posts: 7,669

well, i WOULD wear mine, if your bug wouldnt have deleted all my progress -.-

It's a shame we can't re-prestige and grind through the old bloodwebs to try and earn them.

  • Member Posts: 797

I kind of wish our events would allow us to unlock limited time cosmetics (kind of like overwatch)

But going back to the OG grind is just silly. The Dev's gave us a challenge (the OG players) who were there to support the game in its early stage plus they were aware of how annoying it was to prestige.

For the Dev's it was just a small treat thanking us for being there to support them at that stage.

I was a few days off with Dwight (which I regret in hindsight) but I do have Nurse Legacy 3.

that's the point. a lot of legacy players don't care if they're spotted because most the time they want the action and attention.
