People are saying that others are making a big deal about the Ghostface nerf and saying it's a small deal, but what's the big deal about this is that the Developers are showing that they will go out of their way to make changes to the game without asking it's community that it thrives off of, this could happen to more Killers, the way they create their killers is super Survivor sided, have fun with only being able to have a good game where you can manage kills and map pressure with only 2 killers only.

at this point i hope they wont add never again any licensed killer because they just make him a laughing stock , absolute garbage chapter , not gonna feed my money so they can make even more things like that XF .
i mean just look at pre reworked all im ears perk . the version of outside of tr . whoever came up with that idea should be instantly fired , even if it was reworked , the person with this idea stayed and will add more ######### perks like that , thats the reason we see only bbq . ruin . enduring + spirit fury . the game will start to die soon xF

I'm excited to see the bugs it will create for me as ps4 user. OH WAIT. I won't be able to even try him with the stun VFX. If this is how it's going to be, I might just only play survivor because I won't get physically sick then.

This is a deserved “nerf”, as its more of a bug fix. I went against him 5 times already (on console) and i stared at him many times, definitely over 2 seconds, and he didn't get broken out of stealth. He was also in the middle of my screen, and chasing me. The pallet stun kicking him out of stealth just makes sense- if you’re close enough to a survivor to be pallet stunned, they can definitely see you, so why shouldn't it kick you out?

dude your "community" that devs should listen to, literally consists out of killer mains. i havent seen one person with a survivor profil pic who complains about the ghostface hotfix. ofcause they are not listening to you guys, because that would be totally one sided and stupid. devs have brains too and they will not change anything because some killer mains, what you call "community" says so.
now to the thread: you guys have some serious problems, for you, a killer is balanced if you get a easy 4k. just play him and tell me how many kills you get in average. if its 2 or above stop cry your eyes out. omg every time....

I'm actually a survivor main by definition. More consistent with ranking and experience less adverse effects to my health. Stop judging people by the avatar they chose.
I'm not liking what's happening. I want to face off with more killers. If killer mains don't want to play him, how am I going to play against him? So yeah, killer feedback is actually pretty important.

What it is proof of is they dont just listen to the minute portion of the userbase who post on the forums who tend to overreact to everthing, the changes made are very slight and dont impact the buffs they originally gave him.
The fact they listened to those on the PTB and did buff him shows more than these small changes ever did.
So what it does actually show is they take feedback from those that played in the PTB and also looked at the stats of how things were working out.

@Yamaoka Increase the range that a survivor can break him out of stealth, loses his power upon pallet stun and nerfing all of his add-ons (including stalk and detection ones) to make them weaker and easier for survivors to counter him. Pretty much giving him the shaft in a week.

I've gotta' clarify some things here because there seems to be a lot of confuison.
The range to break him out of stealth is unchanged. The detection area refers to the area on your screen that the killer needs to be in to start revealing him. That will be made about 8% larger. This does not make him easier or harder to reveal, it's just a little QOL change for those that aren't perfectly accurate (particularly helpful for those playing on a controller who are having a hard time keeping their camera right on him during a chase).
The pallet stun is something we got a lot of feedback for. A survivor is meant to be reveal you once they've seen you. If they threw a pallet down on you, they've definitely seen you. (That, or they're just running around the map throwing pallets down for fun and just won the lottery.)
Most of his add-ons are not being changed. His stalk rate add-ons are being decreased due to how powerful they were. It was possible to reduce the stalk time to under 1 second while leaning. The killer instinct add-ons are actually increased, not decreased. The rest of the add-ons remain unchanged.

Can you guys please wait for the statistics to come in with Kill rate and such after a week, when people figured out how to play against him
Look at the Statistic first on high rank after a week, don't just jump on the gun immediately, unless you guys want immediately negative reviews on the DLC
Wait and see how he goes first please? If he ends up being B/ C tier after Patch when he was A / B now many ppl will resent the Devs
You guys literally took forever just to buff one killer, and it will take a long time before you guys are willing to buff him again, look on Leatherface, still bad etc

Question: if a stun takes 2 seconds without enduring can a survivor just look at you for 1.5 seconds and knock you out of night shroud plus the time to break the pallet. isn't that better because with 8% increase in detection it would be much easier to do this. Also, it would give more points to survivors pallet stun plus reveal 800 hundred points. Finally, if you don't add the pallet changes survivors now have to take risk and think do I stay and risk taking a hit or risk dying and wasting another pallet. Therefore, give it a risk and reward feel.
Question: Right now when ghost face is in the stun animation can he be detect and if he can't can you change that and not put in the pallet stun change.
All the other changes are fine.

Their statistics are worthless for a multitude of reasons that they even have said themselves on these forums. They especially shouldn't be used at all for determining balance.

Ok, Killer main here (Wraith to be precise, pretty obvious I guess) that surely is going to put his hands on GF.

They somehow nerfed possibly most powerful addons, seems rational that in a process of tuning a new Killer something got too strong.
Pallet stuns now break the stealth. Seems rather consistent with other pallet influences, they make Killers drop survivors, stop chainsaws, get myyyy preciouuusss out of his marvelous cloak, but sure, the stealthy Killer with an insta-down power should definitely be an exception....just "because".
Marked survivors may no longer be stalked. If I understand this correctly GF won't be able to stalk survivors that already are exposed, my question is - why the hell was he able to do it before.
Detection AREA OF THE SCREEN has been increased - it means the angle, like in freakin' Shadowborn perk. If you didn't understand it then you definitely talk before you think.
And to top it all do take into account that those changes are accompanied by some general tweaks that may nerf looping a bit, provided they work and prove impactful enough. Disabling fast vaults when running glued to the wall seems to be quite interesting for our side of the fog. So play a bit and then cry...should there be any good reason.

I think the problem is that ghostface shouldn't be changed or thinking about changing him at all at this moment since he just came out live. He should be given time and chance to see if the changes are needed. The PTB alone won't solve that cause not everyone played the PTB especially console owners.

This is a double edged sword, though. By the same logic, we should have gone forward with the original version of Ghost Face that hit the PTB since not everyone plays the PTB. Much like we did with the first version, we kept an eye out for feedback and made changes as they were necessary. After we made those changes, we received a lot of feedback about it being too hard to detect Ghost Face while being chased. This is why the changes are focused on his ability being used in a chase rather than before hand. The effect should be very minimal while stalking an unsuspecting survivor while also addressing some of the issues with detecting Ghost Face once you've seen him.

Very true, but there's the huge difference with people who wanted him to be buffed when the ptb started compared to who wanted him to be nerfed now while he just came out live. I think ghostface just needs more time and feedback before making any changes again.

You stated "4% to the left, 4% to the right. 8% total" in another thread. Has the detection area been increased vertically too, or is it just a horizontal adjustment?
Let's take this picture for example: I think 8% would be slightly longer than the width of David's head, but slightly shorter than the width of The Hag's head - would that assessment be correct? If this is indeed correct, then what is the actual detection area in addition to this 8% increase?

In the previous patch, when the community brought up concerns about Legion's "missed attacks ending Feral Frenzy" nerf due to the accuracy issues for those playing on controllers (especially on consoles), we were told that the developers will first gather data to see if it made any difference in the first place. Is there a reason why this particular issue (regarding the survivors' detection area for Ghost Face) was more critical to be immediately changed, even before the console users even had a chance to try it out?

- You release a killer on the beta that everyone agrees was crap.
- You buff said killer to perform better on the PTB due to overwhelming negative reaction.
- You then make a poll asking your player base if they're satisfied with the changes which they are.
- Then all of a sudden you nerf him, despite over 80% of your community liking the buffs to him.
Nuff said.

@Peanits Or a simple fix. Make it so he doesn't lose his power when pallet slammed. He just can't stalk for 5-10 seconds so that way he can still be at least sneaky and try to get a surprise hit. I mean look at Plague. People don't even cleanse themselves because they know they can loop her while broken. She's a lot less intimidating when you realize she can be seen over most loops, nothing to stop the loops and has to just get lucky when she goes to places that have cracks in them since most survivors can just see her. It isn't fun to have a killer who's only power is to be abused by survivors who know how to loop. Ghost Face will be the next one. You already increased his timer to 30 seconds from 20 seconds and now there are more nerfs coming his way. With a game that depends on time, a 30 second timer to stalk again while having no real way to stop actual loops besides using 2 meta perks and a gen slower perk, it becomes extremely frustrating. I've went with brutal strength and fire up and chased a survivor through almost every pallet with ruin still up at Rank 2. They popped all gens, end game had started and I STILL saw 3-4 pallets. Like #########, Man. What do you want us to do? Buy a killer that gets bullied? Billy is different. He doesn't have a 30 second timer and he can't be stared to death either. He also has great maneuverability over large distances that makes up for it. Ghost Face has a 4 second stalk time, who has to hope a survivor doesn't see him for 1 second and a half with a 3rd view camera that loses his power in multiple ways WHILE being slow AND doesn't stop pallet loops, sounds like a jet going off in 8 meters and CANNOT USE HIS POWER WHILE BEING LOOPED. So many damn reasons why he's already at a disadvantage, Man! People are pissed because they want an actual good killer and he is a beloved franchise! I grew up on his movies! Just like Freddy before I got kicked in the nuts! It feels more like a mockery at this point @Peanits instead of a joke and the punchline was forgotten.

I wonder how many people having detection issues were using a controller because i'm getting knocked out of stalk be it chase or no chase pretty quick. I wont even attempt it while moving unless I get it pretty close to full while peaking around a corner, or staying ducked some place with great cover and that can vary a lot in availability.

When a Killer who is balanced or weak has an issue the solution is a sidegrade. Not a nerf.
Or in otherwords, having these changes is fine, but NOT having buffs to compensate (cooldown reduction for example) is the issue.

The map reworks aren’t a adding more pallets? They’re just fixing badham (to make it less survivor sided). Also getting caught in a pallet with night shroud is so rare it’s inconsequential.
