Killers Complaining About S.W.F is Getting quite Annoying
Comments

SWF should be removed.

Well both player roles matter, I’m not just gonna speak for one.

Most killers complain about SWF because they aren't as good as they think. A lot of killers will cry "SWF!" when in fact it was just 4 good solo survivors. The reality is that most of the killers in red ranks are boosted.
Hell I had a Freddy yesterday DC the moment I used DH to get distance to a pallet. He swung, missed, I dropped the pallet and kept running (it was an unsafe pallet) and he just immediately DC's. I message him "really dude?" and he said "if 1 person has DH you all do". Like for real this guy couldn't play against a single perk, you think he's gonna admit defeat in any context? No. Probably not.

A second objective is the wrong path here. You won't get the results you want. Good survivors will just find ways to rush this new objective, while new survivors will have even MORE to learn and play around. The effects of a second objective would be disproportionate.
What would make a better impact would be to just limit the max speed at which a gen can be done. Right now, if you have 3 survivors on a gen with toolboxes that's like a 25 second gen. That's insane. Should NEVER happen. Really, 50 seconds should be the absolute limit to how fast a gen can be done. Doesn't matter how many survivors are on it, if they have toolboxes/perks, whatever. You should never be able to do faster than 50 seconds.
Another option would be to increase the difficulty of doing gens too quickly. Something like a meter that fills as gens are repaired/completed. The more the meter is filled, the harder and more frequent the skill checks will be. Then have some method of reducing the meter either by waiting or doing some specific actions to reduce it. Now survivors have the option to rush gen as they did before, but it will be significantly harder to do the faster they do it. And since it's a feature that would only apply to gens being done too fast, low rank survivors would basically be immune to the effects as they shouldn't do gens fast enough to trigger this mechanic.

I saw that meter thing before, I thought that was a good idea to keep the Gens from going to too fast, overheating so they have to stop doing their Objective and move on and come back. This forces them to leave their Objective which is technically map pressure because they can't do Gens during that time. I really like that idea and it is probably the simplest change they can do as well.
I really feel that they should take some designs from Death Garden though, they fixed the problem that DBD has with hooks and Gens completely. In their game they have 3 places to deliver their Objective, not do the Objective. This means they have plenty of opportunity to run into their Hunter, hide from the Hunter on their way back, and still not doing their Objective during that time which is map pressure. If they take that design and apply it to Gens with boxes of parts or gas cans then I feel that would help out a lot with slowing the game down. But as you said, newer players would have a hard time and this would make totems actually more powerful as that is technically a 2nd Objective so in this scenario it would be a 3rd.

This is my opinion about SWF: It's not that big of a deal when the developers are going to be buffing survivors to SWF level then buffing killers to compensate. :)
Also, I'm going to put this here:

To be fair both sides need to put a sock in it. I hope you don't believe it is just the killer's complaining, as survivors complain just as much.
I play survivor as well, believe it or not. I know their struggles, but I play killer a lot more, and let me tell you, I face a lot of 4men swfs who enjoy subjecting me to torture.
Different experiences for different people. I understand if survivor mains don't see why killer mains complain, but it also means they are inheritly ignorant to the other side. Same for killer mains for survivor main problems. Unfortunately nothing will change cause people just suck.

Well limiting the time it takes to repair a generator will result in either slower repairs or faster repairs which no one wants. Holding m1 is boring enough, and generators being done too quickly is frustrating already. The skill check idea sounds good, but new players will just struggle to hit the skill checks; overcharge exists for that sole reason. Also I don’t see cleansing totems as a 2nd objective but rather as a mini objective.

@RaginRendon No the skill checks only get harder when you do gens too fast. New players don't do gens fast and therefore shouldn't trigger the more difficult skill checks. It's only going to take effect if the gens are done too fast, which only happens with experienced players.
0 -
Holding m1 isn’t a difficult task, so newbies are most likely gonna have this happen to them as well.

I mean, from my experience on my second account until you hit green ranks you rarely ever see 2 gens pop at once. At red ranks all 5 gens will be done in under 5 minutes. Brown/yellow ranks definitely do not do gens that fast.

They spend most of their time crouch walking 😂

Those who say the game was not designed with verbal communication in mind are not really thinking outside the box. If that is true, then the developers have been living under a box. Anyone who has two brain cells to rub together can anticipate that players will use Discord and try to coordinate getting on the same match. It used to happen way back in other online shooter games in the 90's and all the way to now. Nothing new. The developers knew that communication could, and would be used to form teams in this game. It is impossible that they did not.

I know, not having voice chat in the game ain’t gonna stop people from finding different ways to communicate with their friends.

No need to fight!

If they don't worry about the killers the survivors won't have a game to play, there's plenty of survivors but keep making it more difficult for the killers and see how long those lobbies get when nobody wants to play killer anymore.
0 -
Exactly, killer players have feelings as well.
2 -
I mostly killer main but i go through periods where i get tired of being bullied/tbagged so i play survivor for awhile. I don't get the issue people have with playing survivor solo, I've played SWF plenty of times and find it quite boring as i know the only way I'll die is if i'm camped/tunneled. When i play solo i still escape about 75% of the time and i'm far from being godlike in this game. I like playing solo cause it's an actual challenge where SWF is dull and to easy. SWF is way to op imo.

Top pic: 5% of swf
Bottom pic: 95" of swf

Solo does provide more of a challenge, but it can also be frustrating. Most solo players are just plain idiots that just spend most of their time crouch walking around the map to find the ruin totem because heaven forbid it’s impossible to do gens while ruin is active.
1 -
I used to hate SWF groups too. Later I realised that they tend to be more altruistic than solo players and I started to use that against them.
Now I only dodge when there are two or more streamers in my lobby. I couldn't watch two streams at once! .... If I were the type of person that does that of course.

Usually when playing solo I'll run small game as one of my perks so i don't have to worry about noed or my teammates spending an insane amount of time looking for the ruin hex.

Honestly, just give a BP bonus to killers based on SWF and the rank differences. I think a good amount of people would be okay with that. I would.

Also, I agree

Fed up with SWFs and sololords getting wiped by a fresh player like myself- Smack talking me for playing the game- I’ve never once trash talked any one in post-match.
Oh, I won because I tunnelled on Someone blah blah blah- Oh, I only did good because of getting lucky with a random good addon in the bloodweb- I camped- even though I never do this since I’m stressed enough needing to hunt for more victims- staring at a hooked prey isn’t fun.
How’s it my fault that they all failed at juking me- and I'm easily one of the most juked Killers on Xbox- how’s it my fault I found the hatch early and closed it on the last survivor that camped the hell out of it? I actually let a downed survivor escape into it the other night- mainly because he/she was a good player, giving me the most challenge of the hunt and even complimented me, as did I to him/her ^.^
Can’t we all just get along?
Thank the Entity for discovering that I could set my Xbox to only allow friends to send me messages. Xx

Three words, Entitled. Sore. Losers

Or maybe you don't go against many SWF teams yourself? I am also Rank 2, and it seems every game is with a SWF team. It gets tedious after a while.
What most people, including myself, have a problem with is all red rank survivors abusing meta perks and really good items. Most killers cannot do anything against that.
We don't have a problem with a group of people just trying to have fun. Heck, I have fun when that happens because it can be really funny to watch them meme around.
But just throwing your rank around and saying that just because you don't have this problem, that it isn't, is not helping solve the issue here.

You, sir- made my night ^.^

Sometimes we'd like to not have to play real sweaty to even get some points, you know? If I 4k, it's a surprise, if I don't, then that just happens.

I know, but it is what it is unfortunately.
2 -
Well then, enjoy your night. 😊

Any mode that lets friends play together is always going to be healthy for the game as a whole, so SWF isn't going any where.
As incredibly frustrating as it is to play agaisnt (killer main here) its just a game, and we're (at least i am) adults, suck it up. No amount of bickering and exagerated scenarios will make a difference. If we as a dbd community wish to see something changed, we should probably have the sort of conversations that resemble negotiations, what each side of the fence is willing to give and live with to reach a solution we all agree on.
The current narritive isn't going to make the devs sit down and say "you know what, they're right". If i were them I'd steer clear of this b!tch fest of a forum and keep making the game as I saw fit, one that keeps making money.
At the end of the day, if you dont like it, dont play it, that sends the clearest message that people are fed up and not just looking to stir a pot for some fun. I agree the game isnt perfect, but its continued work and improvements are far beyond the likes of say, EA. Imagine if they owned this game.

Here's the thing, at red ranks Swf groups are everywhere (no surprise there, they do much better than solo players). My only problem is how massive some of the maps are, applying pressure on non Swf on large maps is much easier than trying to apply pressure to a Swf group on a huge map especially with a weaker killer it can feel nearly impossible and I can see why people hate it. Honestly if some of the maps like the cold winds were reduced in size (heck even if they were given a couple more pallets to compensate for the size reduction) I'd be fine with it. Applying pressure on a good 4 man on Rotten fields/fractured cowshed is a mountain of an uphill battle, if maps like that were shrunken a little it would be much more fair.
Not to mention you get scummy Swf squads all the time who run balanced with strode keys for easy wins but everyone already knows that.
2 -
Instead, we should be thinking about what makes survivors in general so overly successful.
1 -
I agree. I'm well aware that the balance is intended to be 2 live 2 die, but the scoring that can come from that senario fluctuates drastically. If actually escaping was a rarity that offered a large bonus, while still awarding sacrificed survivers a fair sum of points if they played a strong game, then certian buffs and nerfs would probably be more accepted.

How do you abuse something that's in the game and working as intended?
0 -
I know what you mean. I uploaded a screenshot of the PTB main menu titled "Look guys, they removed SWF!" Don't get me wrong, a lot of the replies were funny. However, at least a third of them were "If only this was real. Or "Don't do that, don't give me hope."

I keep getting the "Nice SWF" after game when I'm playing solo.. 🤔
0 -
That proves that solo players can be just as good as a swf group.
