Buff “Blindness”
1st, it’s confusing for new players who don’t realize it only affects auras.
2nd, most blindness effects are short-lived, temporary effects of add-ons which only persist for a minute. Yes, there is a hex, but it’s only good if it survives to mid-game. (The first person hit or hooked doesn’t really care that he’s blind.)
Therefore, I propose a more direct effect that could cause “blindness” in general to see more play time. In addition to no auras, blindness should also affect vision! (I know, it almost makes too much sense!)
I think the blinded survivor should automatically be surrounded by extreme amounts or dark mist for as long as the effect lasts. This would also fit logically with why they can’t see auras in the distance. The copious amount of evil mist interferes.
The hex might survive a bit longer as well, but the effect would also give survivors more of an urgency in searching for it!
If programming doesn’t allow for changes to the mist during a match, then a workable second option would be to drastically darken the edges of the screen so that the survivor is not so perceptive. A darkish tint on the clear center portion could help to limit their distance views as well.

Making it dark isn't necessary (and annoying). Instead of just hiding aura, hide killer's blood stain and make killer, chests, totems, fellow survivors and gens invisible at range farther than 24m. Blindness with M&A would be a really cool combo.

I personally want a deafness status effect like the hag add on

I think blindness should:
- Put the survivor into first person.
- Surround their vision with wispy darkness similar to Legion's berserk.
- Hide auras.
- Hide the killer's red stain.
All for the duration of blindness.

>Put the survivor into first person.
That would be too cruel (and also slightly confusing).

*Clicky clicky clicky*
But survivors actually blinding the killer is ok? A few moments in first person isn't going to kill a survivor. It would just force them to play more cautiously instead of going "I can't see auras? Darn.... Good thing I'm not actually hampered in the least."

Jumping from 3rd person to first and back is super annoying, playing with camera never a good thing. That's what I meant. If you want something like that, make so everything is hidden from them when they don't look directly at it (at certain FOV degree), and highlight "blind zone" with gray out.

How bout a blindness buff, that let survivors don't see hex totems as lit anymore.

Blindness used to not include all auras. Devs thought not seeing hook auras would be too much. Eventually they changed it to work on all auras. I'm happy with how it works currently.

The way I see it, not seeing where a survivor is hooked is currently the ONLY reason to try to blind survivors. However, to get any use out of this, you need to blind ALL survivors. The Third Seal hex allows for this, but you'll typically hook the first survivor you encounter. The other 3 will still be able to rescue like normal and then, BOOOOM, hex gone.
The one-minute blindnesses effects are pointless..... How often do you hit all 4 survivors, and then hook one, within a 60 second period?
This is why there needs to be some direct, scary, inhibiting, "I-dun-wanna-deal-with-that" negative effect applied to the survivor who is actually blind. Whether it's for the duration of the hex, or even for a minute, some sort of visual decline would be useful. The ideas I've seen above could all be possible solutions for this.

That first one would require devs to make new animations for Survivors walking/running/crouching sideways and backwards.

Blindness should effect lit totems.

Some interesting ideas here... but here's the ones that seem the best:
-No red stain and/or terror radius.
-Can't see whether hex totems are lit
In addition to what Blindness does now.
I'm fine with the flame around hex totems no longer being revealed, same for no red stain. But "terror radius" would relate more to sound than sight... as a result, it wouldn't make sense.
Red stain is a major thing for loopers as it's what they primarily look for when deciding how to move. No red stain would make a lot of Killers much more dangerous.

I like these two ideas.
Legion can use 3rd seal well.
This idea is Really nice

I think this post illustrates how most people don't use third seal properly. If you're running third seal, you want to use it on a high mobility killer like Billy, Hag, Nurse, or Wraith with speed add ons - killers that can injure multiple people quickly. This usually isn't too difficult considering most of the time survivors all start on the same side of the map. The last thing you want to do is commit to a chase when running third seal.
And it also isn't true that you need all 4 to be blind in order to get usage. That's only if you go up against a full 4 man SWF team which is rare anyways. Even if there just two people or three people blind, the team is going to have trouble coordinating who's in charge of the rescue. When you combine third seal with anti healing/tracking perks, people can't even catch their breath to go looking for the totem.

Hell no.
Killers asked to brighten the maps to make survivors easier to see.
Now you want Survivors to be blind and not even be able to play the game properly? Plague and Legion's powers are bad enough. We don't need the game to have a global ability to prevent survivors from even seeing the game.

Why not make so they survivors will have first person camera ?
