Make Ruin More Devastating
With the meta of DBD right now, every killer requires Ruin to at least have a chance at having a decent match and end up having to use up a perk slot all the time just for it to get destroyed in the first 10 seconds. There's even games sometimes where it's just a normal group of survivors and gens still get popped like crazy with Ruin up.
What I'm trying to say is that Ruin's stats should be amped up a bit. Maybe have it increase skillcheck chances, make good skill checks have a 10% regression instead of 5? Hell, even making ruin built in would be good but something to make it actually difficult to deal with.

get better at the game

Mmm yes let's buff meta perks epic idea.

If you think you need ruin to win, you don't know how to properly apply pressure on survivors, therefore there is still room for improvement.
Instead of listening to people on the forums who don't know any better but cry and say that generator speeds need changes, try to improve your own skill. You can do better than that.
Making ruin base kit is out of the question because it's way too brutal to new players.
Great way to kill the game.

People should really start branching out into other perks if their current loadout isnt working. The thought of "ruin is required" is only a hindrance. Ruin is a safety blanket, with players feeling uneasy when its not there.
Unfortunately though no matter what gets said or shown...ppl will just insist ruin is required. If you show them proof that a low tier killer can do fine without ruin at red ranks, ppl will insist the players in that game mustve just been garbage and nowhere near the super elite teams THEY always face.

They might as well since they dont buff anything else. Might as well balance the game around the meta perks since they dont try.

Most survivors i play with can't hit ruin :( well recently.

I think there should be a drawback for survivors when cleansing any hex totem. Like aura revealed for "x" number of seconds or injured, etc. They're some of killers most powerful perks and sometimes they can wiped out in less than 30 seconds with no repercussion.

I don’t count random match videos as proof, especially with the craptastic rank system lately. Ruin is needed. It doesn’t matter how quick you chase, survivors just need to hold m1 on gen for 80 seconds.

Courtesy of rank reset

My point exactly, lol. No matter if I 4k 1000 times in a row, it'll be for nothing because someone will still claim EVERY one of those teams mustve just been bad rather than me playing well.

Matches are anecdotal. And no, it doesn’t mean that every team is trash (although the potatos are are sprouting lately), but a variety of factors such as rng, dcs, and flukes can happen. If I played 10 matches without Ruin and 4ked 5 times, that still wouldn’t prove anything. We need more data.

Like what?

There's a perk that lets you know when they're being cleansed. Unless I'm mistaken

Ruin helps against a genrush which is what normally happens as many people have said ruin is needed "to slow the game down alittle bit". Sure you can go with others like huntress lullaby but thats not benefitial since survivors will hit the skillchecks anyway. Ruin maybe isnt neccessary but ive noticed the difference it can make gen wise can be huge. It really honestly depends i feel.

You're not mistaken. It's called Thrill Of The Hunt, and it is indeed quite useful for protecting totems, particularly on high-mobility killers.
2 -
Not to mention that Thrill also pops when they are cleansing dull totems. At the end of the day, Hex: Ruin is a perfectly balanced killer perk. I honestly don't even bother running it and have no issues getting 2-3 kills per game. It's honestly just about learning to apply pressure. I sometimes look at all these killer posts and think "These people have never played survivor, have they?"

Thrill doesn't give notifications when survivors cleanse dull totems.
I completely agree with you about Ruin, though. It's a powerful perk, but it's no substitute for skilled gameplay.

Ah, its been forever since I bothered running Thrill, but I know it used to pop whenever I played as a survivor.

It will alert you to the perk's presence as a survivor when you start cleansing any totem, because you are affected by the perk's slow cleansing ability. Unless the totem you're on is a lit hex, though, the killer doesn't receive a notification and never did. They'll know you've cleansed a dull totem because the perk will lose stacks, but they have no way of knowing which one you cleansed or where.

Instead of buffing a meta perk BHVR should focus on making other slowdown perks at least a bit attractive. (Surge, Dying Light)

I was asking what extra "proof" I would need to show. According to the person I was talking to, 4king 1000 times in a row wouldnt be proof of anything and more info would be needed. To that I asked "like what"

Try playing without ruin for the next 10-20 matches
Run another slowdown perk like pop or something
After you get used to that you can go back to ruin, but it won't feel as nececary anymore

I actually tried swapping it out for infectous fright on my old Bubba build instead, which was alot more fun (for me). Instead of relying on a perk to slow the game down, I was able to play alot more aggressively. Im not gonna lie and say I won every game or anything, but I had a good time and won a large number of them.

Meh, killers don't need ruin anymore, they have alternatives (Corrupt, Thrilling, PGTW, Dying Light, Thanatophobia, etc.) Plus some killers don't require slowdown perks because their presence alone is able to slow the game down (i.e. Hillbilly, Nurse, Spirit)
