I've thought about how someone could do this, and my solution was to use charms to indicate to survivors that I just want to play around. AFAIK, there's not an established system to do this (like there is for hook gymnastics for instance), but I'm curious to see if maybe that could be a solution to our problem.

I really like this idea. I'm a big fan of staying mindful of totems while I roam around the maps, so keeping them relevant (and adding a couple more so that you don't have the same stale "X" shaped pattern for every map) is a wonderful idea. I agree that the metagaming with DS shouldn't be possible. I think you could still keep the obsession part of the perk, just not let it show up until it's actually used for the case where no one is running any other perk that would force an obsession.

That's what I'm getting at. Slowing the game down by adding a risk/reward aspect such as continuing to do gens while injured is a better way to discourage gen rushing than another perk that would further slow down the actual repair time in the ways Thano and DL do.
