This is true, but I still think it's a bit stupid that a killer can chase, down and hook another survivor, and then when they pull me off a gen, I have the opportunity to hit a skill check and run away. I don't think it should be a set time, there should be things that deactivate it.

I like the way Otz puts it, where if you can't accomplish something in a chase for 15 seconds, you shouldn't go for it because you are wasting too much time. I play mostly survivor and man have i seen some killers not know when to give up on a chase. It can be one of the most detrimental things in the game.

I don't think the duration is the biggest issue with DS. I think it should just deactivate when you perform an action or after another survivor is hooked. 5 seconds is fine but the perk shouldn't punish killers who are genuinely that good.

I don't think this is inherently true, especially with killers that require a lot of setup like trapper. Sometimes those gens just fly and I could see that being annoying. But when I see a legion complain about being gen rushed, this holds up.

As somebody who has only ever played survivor, just cleanse the totems when you see them. Hasn't really changed how often I escape, gives you some extra BP and renders the perk useless. I feel like this would be complicated and easy to abuse. I think maybe the hook timer should pause if there are no survivors within a certain range and the killer is just standing there. I don't understand this I guess. Haven't played enough killer to understand how looping is toxic. I understand that survivors getting gens done too quickly makes for an unfun killer game, and honestly I don't like rushing the gens out because i miss out on points in all the other categories.
