Considering the smartest thing you can do as Survivor is to split up, perks based on staying together were always a terrible idea (except pre-nerf Prove Thyself I guess).1 -

Lol that reminds me of the Left 4 Dead days. I'd join a lobby and get kicked 5 seconds later for no reason. Same thing would happen here.3
