I play on ps4 to and you can set msg to friends only. Every once in a while I still get a friends request though with a nasty msg in it2 -

Quit dcing you will never get better by giving up. I was a rank 12 killer getting stomped on not to long ago but didn’t give up and it made me a better killer. I’m rank 4 now and still have a bad gam…2
