What annoys me:
The fact that they are changing the best part about the current Survivor lobby (seeing ranks), calling it a bug. But still no plans or reintroducing the Switch to Killer/Survivor button.

the transition is just so damn slow like ugh

I just wish to have a function to pick the tome mission in the lobby. Sometimes it would be a good strategy to shift to another mission.
1 -
yeah it's nice to know if my teammates are gonna obviously be new to the game
1 -
Yeah I love that feature. They should leave it in.
3 -
I hope it stays because seeing ranks is a game changer for me. I know when my team has less experienced players in it so I change my build to something that would help/benefit me and my team. This should be a feature!

I was disappointed to learn the in-lobby ranks was a bug to be fixed. It's handy to know in solo queue if a co-player is inexperienced or has been away from the game for a while.
It's nice to help and look out for newer players too. For example, we got matched up with a Rank 20 and Rank 18 who turned out to be little kids that had hardly any idea what was going on. We were able to help them because we knew to expect lower level play based on those ranks.
I always want new people to enjoy the game and come back again

@Peanits Any chance you guys could leave it in? I think most people really like that feature. Even if it was not intentional.
1 -
I literally have only used this change to dodge low lvl players.
And sure, I love being able to do that, but it's not really healthy in general.
4 -
Killers can still see our names = know our builds but I can't decide if I'm up to babysitting.
I will d/c or suicide on the hook when playing with bots
3 -
But wouldn't a lobby dodge be preferable to frustration? I've currently reached the purple ranks and most of my lobbies I get grouped with some yellow ranks, which doesn't bother me really as I know what I am getting in to.
But for not knowing what rank your team mates are you might get very annoyed when they are not contributing to much in the match and in the post-game lobby see that they were lower ranked than you, and get frustrated after the fact.
5 -
We dodge because the matchmaking and ranking system is broken. Rank 10-9 with rank 17-18? And who knows what the killers rank is. I like to be placed with survivors in my skill range. Seeing a rank 17 when i’m usually purple/red rank definitely makes it look very unbalanced... i don’t see why remove it until the matchmaking is really fixed.
4 -
I assume you mean other survivors, as killers don't see the ranks. But isn't that a good thing? I mean to be able to choose to play with people closer to your own rank, rather than having frustrations of suffering bad matches because you got lumped with low level players.

i just don’t see the point in removing it. survivors are just going to die on hook and leave that way which cripples the game even more than dodging lobbies.
1 -
Why do the devs hate solo survivors so much? It's like they can't stand the idea of us having anything nice. And with dedicated servers, there's no issue with lobby dodging, it doesn't hurt anyone's gameplay in any way and literally nobody has been complaining about it...

Its so very Behavior, though.

How do killers know your builds just by seeing your names?
0 -
I rarely see survivors dodging. It's usually just the killer who dodges and he comes the double standard: why are killers allowed to dodge based on information (items, names, steam profiles etc) but we solo survivors can't even see what rank our mates are and bring in perks on based information?
Doesn't make sense to me.
5 -
This is true.

So, its people like you that ruin it for everyone?
Why do you love dodging lobbies with lower ranked players? Do you really take DBD that serious?
Taking rank seriously outside of red isn't something you should do since only the sweatiest players keep in the red ranks and enjoy playing there while everyone else doesn't care / derank all the time. It doesn't define skill by any stretch.
1 -
I really don't care, rank means absolutely nothing about how good/bad someone is, so ...

Late in the night I usually play vs the same killers over and over again

PC or console? I play ps4 and I guess I don't pay enough attention to names unless they are pretty clever or funny.

From my own experience and from the comments I've seen made about it on the forums, even though there are those who do use the feature to dodge lobbies, there are many more who just use it to prepare themselves for the game and know what to expect from their teammates. In that way, it is particularly useful for solo survivors.
For example, I might look at the ranks and levels of other survivors in my lobby and think things like, "okay, that person is a low level on that character, so they probably won't have a great loadout, and they'll likely be using that character's perks" or "that person is a low rank, we're going to have to look out for them more, better equip some altruistic perks and try to keep the heat off them if I can because they're probably not a good looper".
In my opinion, it actually promotes synergy between the survivors more than anything else, and also makes a positive difference in the "closing the gap between solo and SWF" department.
Yes, there will always be people who will use features like that to dodge lobbies, but they're probably the same people that dodge because their teammates are wearing particular cosmetics. That doesn't mean that we should just shroud the survivors in fog so they can't see each other at all, just because some people use appearance as an excuse to dodge.
I don't believe that what amounts to an excellent QOL improvement for the majority should be denied because of the bad behaviour of a few.
3 -
PC. Some people pay attention believe me and then it's gg. They will not only adjust your build to yours but also will know what to expect during chases or make sure you will have miserable experience when you're their favourite. I don't think I even need to explain this lol
0 -
Does that mean you're going to hide survivor items and characters and names because you don't want to promote lobby dodging? I mean killers dodge lobbies a million times more than survivors and if you're going to try to discourage survivors from dodging lobbies because they're likely going to have a very rough game, I see no reason why we should promote killers dodging lobbies either. Unless there's some sort of double standard.

I'm still waiting for color blind mode for those who are color blind.
0 -
Cool. Then can you guys do more to prevent killers dodging? Maybe show them less info. Not at all uncommon to get dodged multiple times and have to wait 20-30 times before matches on PS4.

I don't think forcing red rank players to play with new players is really fair. What's the point of ranking up if I'll still play with new players even if I'm at the top rank?
If you actually want to stop lobby dodging then you should prevent killers from dodging as well.

@peanits No one wants this 'bug' removed. Please focus on other detrimental ones. On the list of stuff that needs fixing, seeing rank is probably the lowest bug on the list.
Not trying to sound like a jerk and i really do love this game. But as a solo player, that never dodges lobbies unless no one is joining, seeing rank is just a nice feature.
1 -
Mby behavior can add a bug where the killer can see the rank of the survivors. So he can make sure to go up against survivor of his skill level xD and then please implement this bug into the game as standard. thy

I personally don't mind it, but if people are using it to dodge lobbies then it needs to go. There are already enough reasons people dodge, they might as well remove what they can. I think they should also make all offerings secret so that people don't dodge because of a possible mori or a haddonfield offering.

The problem we have is when a red rank survivor gets put with rank 10 and lower players. As a survivor its very important to know what type of teammates your playing with. You don't want a teammate who will dc against a good killer or will be too afraid to do anything.
Your team have already added tools for survivors to consider dodging lobbies anyway like the ping counter in the bottom. If survivors dodge a lobby it doesn't make that much of a difference. This is compared to when a killer dodges a lobby so I personally think that's where the team should look.

People wouldn't be dodging if the ranks weren't completely randomly assigned. Been playing solo survivor since the new challenges came out and I can't count the number of lobbies I've joined where I'm a solid ten ranks above the 3 other people who were already there.
Hiding the fact that the game is stacked against you until it's over isn't a solution, it's a cop out.
2 -
In a perfect world a red rank survivor shouldn't be paired with three green/yellow rank ones, which is what happens regularly to me.
As a solo survivor knowing who you're playing with is very important and that "bug" was helpful for that.
4 -
weird. i love how bhvr will let killers see our rank but we can’t even see the ranks of our own teammates. seems biased and definitely killer sided imo...

Killers cant see ranks at all. Only Survivors.

I can not think of many features games 20 years ago didn't do better. Quake 1 and Team Fortress Classic had better dedicated servers than DBD today . Set a trap as trapper, walk forward. See it triggered 90 % of the time, just one of the many examples.

I don't get why it can't stay though. I should be able to be aware of my teammates ranks to determine if I want to stay in the lobby or not.
