Buff mettle of man

I thought the protection hit buffs that came out a while ago were going to be a game changer for mettle of man and it was going to bring the perk some use, I had never used mettle of man before it got nerfed hard and the perk seems very fun. but after realizing it didn't mean jack ######### and the perk still has the flaws it has, I am enraged. I just want to use mettle of man as a survivor who has never used the perk before. as it stands ash is the only survivor who I cannot recommend ANYONE to buy, his perks are trash(well maybe Quentin, but he has pharmacy). so please can we get a buff for the worst survivor perk in the game?

Best way to proc MOM rn is to tank two hits while running break out. You’ll get two out of three stacks and your fellow survivor should wiggle off. You will be swapping spots and be hooked but you also only need one more protection hit which will be easy to get whenever you see an opportunity later on.

Use 2/4 perks slot, get 1 hook for 2/3 protection hit, dont’ do gen and wait/follow the killer to take up the survivor from the ground is definitily not whorty , now mattle of man is still a trash perk, i may suggest to go down to 2 instead of 3 stack to activate itself, it will be more usefull But for sure not meta , so fair...

I was thinking about running MOM with Inner strength, cleanse a totem, then take a hit for a survivor being carried, jump in a locker and by the time they get hooked I should be healed and go for the rescue, maybe throw in Borrowed time as well.

I will try this tonight, but my ideas usually don't pan out too well

It's not the worst perk in the game. It's fine if it stays like this.

In my opinion You shoud be able to get MOM stack in different ways other than protection hit, what about a combination of 4 protection hit/safe unhook , i know it was tested in ptb ( it was 3 not 4 ) but with the increase of stack shoud be more easy but still hard to obtain .

    2 protection hit/ 2 safe unhook

    1 protection hit/ 3 safe unhook

    3 protection hit / 1 safe unhook

are imho a good cost to activate MOM

Maybe even a buff released with tweaks to protection hits?

I think MoM is in a good spot for what it is. You cannot buff it too much, otherwise it becomes oppressive like it was before.

It needs a rework. A extra hit in a chase is too overpowered, however looking at the perk in a game, its really buggy and doesnt even always register protection hits, so the perk really isnt a problem rn.

"Once activated, the next occasion that would put you into the Dying State  from the Injured State is ignored."

I think "from the injured state" limitation needs to go. You need to work hard to activate the perk but it can still be useless against certain killers.

i think MOM shoud have more ways to get the stack, like for example a combination of 4 protection hit/safe unhook, i know this combination has been tested in june ptb (3 stack not 4) but with increasing number of stack MOM would be definitely easier to activate than now but still hard to obtain.

    4 protection hit

    3 protection hit / 1 safe unhook

    2 protection hit / 2 safe unhook

    1 protection hit / 3 safe unhook

    4 safe unhook

those are imho an honest cost to activate the perk.

what do you think about it?

Perhaps add flashlight saves as a way to get a token it's one of the harder actions to do in the game since the perk should be moderately hard to activate

When I read the description of MoM, I can only support the rework.

It really looks like a perk that you don't know how to balance.

Multiple conditions, activation for a single precise state, a backlash (whose activation time is not clear), a conditioned deactivation (definitive or not?), increases the chances of being the Obsession... I can't even understand precisely how it works.

Honestly, I prefer to start the game with a med-kit and the Styptic Agent.

Mettle of Man got kinda changed, due to New Protection scores, now scoring MoM it's way dangerous and specific but also a bit effective, too risky because if you decide to score two protections while a killer is carrying a survivor, you'll get hooked an lose a hook, if you think about it

-You cannot protect healthy and downed survivors, which it's a big drawback, which I find downed almost reasonable except when you revive them when they're at 95% and I find healthy way dumb since you're creating a distraction and hence protecting them.

-From 20 seconds of doing a protection token, down to 3, this one is a big buff, and it's way better now.

-You still don't receive a token if you're near a healthy and injured survivor, because the game confuses, so you can't get a token from a survivor who is being carried by the killer if there's another healthy on your side.

If healthy survivors worked, and the being near a healthy and carried didn't confused the game, the perk would be way better, but as for it is right now, I'd prefer 2 tokens of protection rather than 3, I'm not yet up for a rework to be honest.

Peanits, why not remove the aura part of the perk?

That would make this a good perk and rewards you for being a hero, instead of killing you off for being a hero

In the next PTB, try mettle of man with 2 protection hits instead of 3.

what do u guys think about pairing MoM with breakout? Maybe that would make sense? since you usually get hit while trying to use breakout on a carried survivor.

Maybe make it any save. Include wiggling off if you've taken a protection hit before they wiggled off.

I tried this combo a lot and i can i say it’s a poor combo...

Can I get confirmation that taking a hit near a survivor in the dying state on the ground, whether healing them or standing within a certain radius of them, should NOT count as a protection hit after the recent update?

This is what I have experienced, but it wasnt explicitly stated in the update notes. Other players have told me they have still gotten protection hits from being near a downed survivor, but I havent seen any proof of this.

You don’t get stack from being near a downed survivor

and remove the negative effect makes no sense on a bad perk anyway
