"The Nurse" grab animation bug.
How to reproduce:
Start the game as Nurse, Everything seems fine at first, but when you start the grab animation on a survivor and it gets dedicated, The Nurse gets stuck in the grab animation (unable to move or interact) indefinitely.
Character: The Nurse
Map: All of the maps (in the clip "Rancid Abbatoir")
Happens almost every game, definitely game breaking.

Can confirm, the grab does not be to dedicated. Almost 8 hours of DC penalty b/c survivors will take the game hostage after they notice it. There is a 2-3 second delay of when the survivor can move before grab animation even starts (with 40 ping survivors and a 20 ping killer)

Got this in RPD of all maps :)

Another fine example of this

I signed up to make a post about the glitch but may as well not. Here's my footage, lets keep this post up so they can see it.

Happened to me in the beginning of the game, lost my addons and offerings and a pip, annoying! https://youtu.be/Nk-6HJ6GMLU

So, she's frozen for the rest of the game? Which means you are forced to DC, and then eat the ever-increasing DC penalties??
Dang... looks like I still won't be playing her :(
Let's hope this fix comes out ASAP

This is an acknowleged bug, that our Team is aware of. I do not have a fix ETA as of yet though.

I don't believe killswitch is required no. We are discussing further communication around this issue, but as it's not something that's completely abusable ie, survivors cannot cause this to happen to Nurse for example, I do not see the need to killswitch.

I would have thought the issue (on top of what CookieBear mentioned, which I also agree with... the survivors that know can totally abuse this and force the killer into this) is that it forces killers to DC and rack up penalties. If you imagine they DC'd because of Tuesday Maintenance, and then again for whatever reason (salty survivor) and then they switch to Nurse and they have to DC again, they're going to be in for a long timeout and that's not going to be fun.
At some level, Nurse-players need to be aware - even by maybe acknowledgement when they boot up the game - that there's a known bug which will cause the Nurse to freeze/break on a common mechanic (i.e. so there's a good chance they'll experience it if they play)

Almost every game

Thank you both for the feedback, I will reopen the discussion internally to discuss this again.

If the issue can't be quickly fixed, can the change be rolled back until it can be fixed? Is it better for the game for survivors to feel like they got an unfair hit, or is it better for the game for a killer to be frozen for the entire rest of a game?

Already happened to me like 5/6 times. Some toxic survivors would hold me hostage by not repairing the gens and instead tbag. Can't quit either otherwise cooldown hours. :)

Happened 3 out of 6 games to me yesterday. Had to DC all 3 times, because it happened at 5 gens. The matchmaking ban was shorter than waiting for the survivors to finish. How about disabling post-blink grabs until the issue is fixed in the meantime? It would basically always force an M1 after a blink, instead of a grab, which leads to this soft-lock situation. Seems like a good band-aid solution until this gets properly patched.

that would involve a full reprogramme including animations etc. That probably wouldn't be possible to push at a stand alone temp fix.

We just updated the in-game news plus the forum killswitch post to confirm that the Nurse has been killswitched due to the grab animation bug - thank you for all your help.

I try!

Is there an ETA on when I can start playing nurse again? She's one of my top 3 killers. Good that this was acted on though, I just hope this won't take weeks to sort out.

When they need to do a completly rework her animations it will takes weeks.

That would suck. I'd prefer a buggy nurse over no nurse at all.
